Lexis Nexis is the first place I go when doing my research. I love the address and employer information as well as the potential relatives. Also being able to search for someone by including a relative's name is a great feature! The company's reputation also gives me peace of mind that my findings are correct. I wish the business search and news search could be narrowed down to EXACTLY what you type. It would be nice to still have it pull similar results but I would like the option to search for only results containing exactly what I'm searching for. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I use it all the time! The data is incredibly accurate and has been key in helping us identify prospects. I love the amount of features available, though this can be a double edge sword. It is a little pricey. While it's worth what it costs, it makes it difficult to add users as my team grows. Also, there are so many features that sometimes it's overwhelming, especially since they aren't always easy to find. It, by far, has the most robust collection of information on real property records of any service out there. I use it every single day for prospect research and gift capacity rating analysis. Because it is so large and so complex I often have to figure out what is and isn't in LNDP. I guess I just would like a more robust training program focusing on specific resources for everyday prospect research work. Just a preference. The search feature is powerful, and I can find so many news articles dating many years back. The real estate records help gauge wealth capacity. I don't blame Lexis Nexis, but Asian names still hard to figure out gender sometimes, however, it's not uncommon to have an Asian individual's Anglocized name connected to their record. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Nexis for Development Professionals is a must have for any database oversight team. It is our number 1 tool to use for researching prospects to ensure we are tracking the correct person, have the right address and to determine if they have passed away. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

There is a need for caution when researching within Nexis. Just because a data point is shown as current, such as an address, does not mean that it is. Further research within the Nexis profile or other tools may be necessary to determine for certain. Additionally, parent/child relationships sometimes get tangled when a parent buys a home for the child or the parent and child have the same name. Looking at the data wholistically is a must. Nexis for Development Professionals is easy to use without losing complexity and depth of information. As a prospect researcher, I use Nexis every day and for every donor. It's a go-to, invaluable tool for prospect researchers for finding info as basic as name, address, and contact info like emails and phone numbers; and then you go into all the info you can find on real estate; and then you can do company information, find professional licenses. The only downside would be how vast it is and you feel like maybe you're under-utliziing it. And perhaps sometimes the "public records" screen can be a little confusing with property addresses vs. owner names and their addresses.
