I’m not happy with Saved Searches because there are a few cons. For example, if I create a saved search for one of our departments and give users edit access so they can add or remove things (like columns) from the report, a user can remove the subsidiary criteria. I love NetSuite as a whole compared to any other ERP system, whether it's on-premise or a SaaS application. It is user-friendly, customizable, and easy to develop new internal apps for clients. It allows me to tailor processes for clients by leveraging some of the out-of-the-box features, even if there is complexity around how they do intercompany transactions or bank transfers for cash receipts. Setting up NetSuite was very easy; the core financials were completed in about two days, and the business processes for AR and AP were standard, with no need for customization. Well, they have not enhanced the reporting tools inside of NetSuite. The out of the box financials. And I just think that there's so many different other applications to where individuals can do financial reporting that NetSuite does not put any money, into the R and D and development of that. The other thing that I look at to enhance in NetSuite is around their fixed asset module. They haven't had any real improvements around that. They have done some in leases, which is great. We enjoy being able to create and save our own reports. It can be a bit complicated, so we’re investing extra time to learn more deeply what to include in specific reports in order to gain a clearer understanding of our financials and reconciliations.

When exporting NS reports, they are not always the easiest to handle when sending to excel. Could potentially have a better understanding of certain or unneeded data when promoting a system export.

I use NetSuite as my main ERP and financial/inventory system because it solves a lot of problems like inventory management, financials, payables, and receivables. We've since grown and expanded upon our usage of the software far beyond what we originally intended. NetSuite allows us to modify the system whenever we have a specific business need, like controlling order capacity and delivery scheduling, by creating custom records that fit our requirements. The UI is slow, clunky, and outdated. I'm hopeful that NetSuite Next (next generation UI) fixes those issues. Navigating between transactions or records can be cumbersome. There also is a pretty steep learning curve around the backend language - understanding how fields and records are joined can be challenging at first. For starters, the look could feel more modern. The current UI feels like it's from the mid-2010s, and it sometimes performs like it. Waiting on fields to populate, sublists to load, transactions to save - it all just feels slow. Creating records, while similar across verticals, could be streamlined. It wasn't that easy. We got lucky in that we had a functional consultant live local to our office in northern IL, but even then we took a staged approach to implementation.
