As we switched to NetSuite, we looked for solutions and NetLease was an amazing purchase. Matt Siepert was an awesome implementation specialist who was knowledgeable and felt like a team member rather than a consultant. He went above and beyond, even meeting with our auditors to determine proper treatment and system setup was in accordance with their expectations. **What do you dislike about NetLease by Netgain?** We are a lessor but our sublessee pays their landlords directly. As a result, lease liability cannot be relieved. We use non-GL posting and will perform an annual true-up, which is similar to maintaining in excel. But the auditors were impressed with the system when we explored together so anticipating no comments this year! **What problems is NetLease by Netgain solving and how is that benefiting you?** It is solving ROU and Lease Liability calculations and complex lease arrangements, all systematically stored in our acocunting system. ### 2. NetLease automates this process by generating schedules for you based on the parameters you input, and gives you the proper entries to book them each month. These entries are integrated into NetSuite so they can even automatically post based on your internal workflows. Additionally, modifying an existing lease is one of the most challenging things to do for lease accounting. NetLease also solves this by offering easy modifications that save a ton of time compared to software our company has used in the past. ### 13. Not having to manually calculate balances and payments over time saved me a lot of frustration and time. Also, being able to edit parts of a lease as it is active or being able to deactivate a lease to edit more aspects of it is nice. Lastly, while I have yet to make use of it, the map that shows the locations of all the leases is neat. The website itself was easy to set up and use and our point of contact, Brooks, did an excellent job demonstrating the product and answering our questions. The website even has a tutorial base for if you have questions after the implementation process. **What do you dislike about NetLease by Netgain?** I have only used it for pulling information for an audit, so my experience is limited in what functionality is missing. If there was one thing I could say would save me time was if I could build custom reports to pull in the system. I realize that is not practical on NetGain's side and the effort to make such a system work would outweigh the benefits. Overall, I am happy with the product as I have worked with it. **What problems is NetLease by Netgain solving and how is that benefiting you?** Lease journal entries, lease amortization, and lease recording were all things that have been an issue for our accounting team of three. NetLease makes it really easy to track leases and creates journal entries for us so we spend less time searching for files and crunching numbers. It also helped us come into compliance with ASC 842, we were in the last group that adoption of the standard was required for. With the document upload feature, we have all of our documents for each lease in one place instead of scattered across all the drives we use. ### 14. It has also asissted us in maintaining our lease schedules which we previously did in excel which leaves room for errors. The implementation process could nothave been smoother and the integration into our current system was very easy. We have only run into a few questions post implementation and the customer support has been quick to respond and handle. I use the system daily and rarely run into problems. **What do you dislike about NetLease by Netgain?** I would like if the disclosure reports would show amounts in the currency the lease is denominated in within NetLease. For example, we have leases denomiated in different currencies and right now the disclosure reports only show in USD so I have to do exchange rate calculations to present my foreign currency leases accordingly. **What problems is NetLease by Netgain solving and how is that benefiting you?** NetLease is solving a lot of problems we had caused by manual processes. We maintained all of our lease details and calculations in excel which leaves a lot of room for error. We also have a lot of quarterly reporting related to the leases which we previously had to do manually in excel. NetLease is able to automatically maintain the schedules, the monthly calculations and the quarterly reporting. This has been a huge help. ### 17. Landon is very knowledgable about the product and was able to be extremely instrumental in helping us get NetLease set up properly for our adoption of ASC 842 and was great at teaching us how to do the many things that NetLease is capable of. NetLease is easy to use and we are literally in it every day as we have many leases and Landon was able to help us set up custom fields on them to hold all the information we need about them to have everything at our fingertips rather than digging through our contracts each time there is a question. The implementation was so organized and I love how it was set up in RocketLane so we knew at all times where we were in the implementation process and what the next step was. Landon was super responsive to all of our questions both during implementation and after. I highly recommend NetLease and NetGain. **What do you dislike about NetLease by Netgain?** Only thing I have seen that I don't like is that the system cannot prorate payments for partial months. The issue we ran into was due to a miscommunication on the implementation introduction video. The video suggested that we should install the NetGain bundle but I realized after we installed it that we hadn't given the NetGain team our NetSuite information first. It was super easy to implement and took less time than expected. With (what feels like) every company being short staffed in accounting, it was really helpful to use this software to make it easy to keep track of our leases and run the entries needed to be in compliance with the new standard. Instead of excel files, we just click a couple buttons and it does all the work for us! It was straightforward to do but took me a bit longer than expected. Netlease had an amazing team that was very helpful in the steps, gave me detailed instructions and always took my call to assist us in getting this all done. All the necesssary coding and details generate which make review and payment smooth. Generating and reviewing monthly amortizations are a breeze compared to the numerous spreadsheets I used in the past. Reviewing and posting those have saved a ton of time at month end. The reports are easy to generate, use and customize to include additional information. Implementation of NetLease went smoothly. The few support tickets or questions we've had have been answered quickly. **What do you dislike about NetLease by Netgain?** I don't really have a least helpful or downside to state, the canned reports that are driven by saved searches take a bit of time to edit and make a copy but that is understandable given each companies chart of accounts structure is different. Ours is a bit detailed and I require several additional columns to help provide clarity for reconciliations and forecasting. **What problems is NetLease by Netgain solving and how is that benefiting you?** NetGain helps me solve the modification adjustments by calculating it for you. Used to be super time consuming in excel. It's saved me a ton of time in processing payment and rent entries. The new bundle feature with the uplift option helps so I don't have to manaually calcuation the rate increases and enter a new payment for each increase. ### 24. This along with the easy to run reconciliation reports make NetLease an invaluable tool for our month end close. The implementation process for NetLease was also incredibly quick and painless with NetLease professionals guiding us every step of the way, providing us custom solutions for our particular lease accounting needs, and a robust user guide for any post implementation questions we had. Another bonus is that NetLease is an embedded add-in for NetSuite avoiding the hassle of having to utilize a separate piece of software. It's impossible to imagine going back to our month-end close processes prior to utilizing Netgain's affordable and incredibly helpful solution. **What do you dislike about NetLease by Netgain?** No real dislikes about NetLease. The only downside would be that it's not available if you aren't on NetSuite! **What problems is NetLease by Netgain solving and how is that benefiting you?** NetLease by Netgain is solving complicated month end processes of having to create bills for leases, amortize leases through monthly journal entries, and manage those leases in an intuitive and helpful tool. ### 25. Modifications are easy, and can be done to just one lease or a group. The journal entries created and the reporting are working out well. I would definitely recommond this system. It is a NetSuite plug in which make it very easy to implement and has minimum distruption to our daily operations. The time to implement was also short, it took our company about 4 weeks to fully implement 5 of our leases. The lease accounting logic is very sophisticated in Netlease and covers all of our lease accounting needs. **What do you dislike about NetLease by Netgain?** The initial configuration of the openning balance was a little complex and require lots of team's time to review the completeness and accuracy of the initial data, but this is expected for any new software implementation. **What problems is NetLease by Netgain solving and how is that benefiting you?** Fully automate ASC842 lease accounting and has great reporting to support financial statment footnotes, monthly reconciliations, and audit. ### 29. Creating new leases and posting the monthly amortization entries couldn't be easier. **What do you dislike about NetLease by Netgain?** I wish the process of recording the CAM fees we pay as part of all our leases in the Lease Payment was as easily and quickly calculated as uplifts in the base rent. We have to add (and calculate, if variable) these amounts manually and on a 10-year lease, it can get a little lengthy but this is a pretty small inconvenience in the grand scheme. **What problems is NetLease by Netgain solving and how is that benefiting you?** I understand ASC842 but didn't really comprehend the volume and complexity of the calculations until I came to understand the calculations that NetLease was doing for us.
