What do you like best about NetDocuments?

1. The search function works very well.

2. It is relatively easy to save documents (but see below).

3. The compare function within NetDocs works well. You can still do it outside of NetDocs.

4. It is very easy to download attachments to emails. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NetDocuments?

The awkward:

1. It is a circuitous route to set up a new client and new matter. You will figure it out, but it was much easier in Worldox.

2. The help function is overly complicated.

The warnings:

1. They did not automatically set-up all of the sub-folders (levels 3, 4 and 5 of Worldox) for my clients. Just clients and matters. I had to get upset and push them to set up the subfolders, and it cost me a significant amount of additional money.

2. When they set up the subfolders, many did not have the common names given to them. Just the short name from Worldox.

3. Even though they didn’t give me the subfolders I created, they took it upon themselves to set up subfolders based on the document types specified in Worldox – email, corres, contracts, etc. The problem is that many lawyers did not carefully pick the types. So I have a lot of unnecessary subfolders

MAKE SURE YOU ARE VERY CLEAR IN TELLING THEM WHAT YOU WANT.

The bad:

1. As I note above, I have subfolders. However, I cannot figure out how to make more, to save documents to those subfolders or to open those subfolders except through a search.

2. Unlike Worldox, they could not set up something to delete emails from Outlook when you save them to NetDocs.

3. In order to have a cleaner looking page, the list of documents shows fewer at a time. Hate it.

4. The Doc Type folders they set up are worthless.

5. They do not provide much storage within the price quote. I am still unsure if the pricing will go up as I save more documents, or if I will need to download stuff from NetDocs to store it off-line.

6. Essentially no support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about NetDocuments?

NetDocs keeps all of our files in one place (well, in one interface but in multiple folders! It is easy to organize and create various folders needed to keep all of your documents easily organized! You can add new folders, subfolders, rename documents, and chech in and check out documents as well. We love that you are able to keep different versions of your files as well just incase you need to access and older version. You can also view documents without having to download them, which is great! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NetDocuments?

Sometimes it takes a while for folders to be created if you are using Safari. But if you use Chrome, all is good! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about NetDocuments?

NetDocuments was a huge upgrade for us that greatly improved our filing, storing, and searching capabilities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NetDocuments?

I wish that the outlook plug in was more robust; I found that I still had to leave outlook and go into the web browser much more frequently than I would have liked (when say, compared, with imanage which I'd previously used). The required structure of having different cabinets to store matters in was also suboptimal. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about NetDocuments?

Being able to just provide the netdoc id to a client is very convenient of course if they have the account. If they don’t, you can simply provide an external link with a password so anyone can view the doc. That makes sending documents super convenient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NetDocuments?

The layout of the folders. I struggled finding the documents I posted to netdocs. I would have to look them up using their id number. I’d definitely like it more if they put more emphasis on the folders layout. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about NetDocuments?

We have a "correct" place to save documents pertaining to any given matter, and this keeps everything in one place. You can add multiple tags to any document, which is helpful in searching. It's fairly easy to use, once it's set up. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NetDocuments?

NetDocuments' integration with Mac is not as smooth as they would have you believe. Two of our attorneys tend to work offline for this reason, and don't always manage to save their versions to NetDocs. Sometimes this is forgetfulness on the part of the attorney, and sometimes it is a NetDocs issue.

Saving a document takes several steps, but I think it's worth it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about NetDocuments?

NetDocs helps you manage your documents. You can save docs with profiles, which puts them in virtual "folders." The folders work by segregating the items by client, matter, document name, and type of document. There is also a comments section that allows you to put notes in about the document. You can save your emails to the system as well. All users can access the documents, and you can tell when someone else has "checked out" a document to work on it. You can also save versions of your documents as the document changes. It's great for law firms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NetDocuments?

I don't have any negative comments. I like everything about NetDocs and highly recommend it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about NetDocuments?

The management of documents is clean and intuitive. Being able to control access selectively has been useful. We've found it to be a much better solution than our previous program. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NetDocuments?

I believe we were oversold on the functionality with Mac. On our PCs, it works like a dream and have had little to no issues with most users. Our Mac users have struggled. We were told that this works with Mac just like PC, but the truth is, it is nowhere near as functional on a Mac. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about NetDocuments?

It makes document management very easy. Customizing your homepage means you don't have to be looking for documents you are frequently working on and you create a to do list with the. I love how working remote is much easier and you can cut down on other software because this is a fairly inclusive solution. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NetDocuments?

I do with more than one person could open a document at a time to work on it and not need a "shared space". The only thing with the Clio integration that slows things down is that you do have to manually link from Clio to NetDocs, but once it is done, it is great! You can easily put this into your processes for the first few months and not do it all at once. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
