**What do you like best about Navisworks?**

What I love about Navisworks is that to me it is the perfect Clash detection software available to date for pretty much anything out there also I can use it as a way to show people how my project looks as a whole & go into a clash test and show how many element's are clashing within each test that you make it is very intuitive & practical and very user friendly when it comes to using the software.

**What do you dislike about Navisworks?**

to be honest I don't really have any dislikes about the software for what you use it for it does all what I think to expect from a software to be completely honest & I couldn't really find or think of anything wrong with it as I was using it.

**Recommendations to others considering Navisworks:**

I would Highly Recommend to anybody like myself who is clashing a project of any kind and wanting to do clash test within the software to figure out how many problem's there are in a quick in easy way of viewing it all.

**What problems is Navisworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There are no problems that I needed to solve besides the Clash test that I use within the software itself. which is the benefit in relying on it so look for any and all clashes available within the tolerance I have given it within each Clash test.

  ### 24. Navis, where are you...

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rene P. | BIM Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 06, 2019

**What do you like best about Navisworks?**

The lighweight conversion of so many file formats into its own format to quickly visualise and merge several models, and be able to run checkks and coordination of elements and disciplines etc.

**What do you dislike about Navisworks?**

The lack of development since approx. 2015. There has hardly been any new features, or fixes for almost 5 years. It would be great if they had a public road map to look forward to.

**Recommendations to others considering Navisworks:**

Understand its limitations, then you won't be disappointed. It is a great tool for coordination of elements in various models in different formats. It could have a lot of extra features (available as 3rd party addins, in most cases), but it will do the job just fine for the vast majority of users.

**What problems is Navisworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

All things related to spatial coordination, time line sequencing of works / activities, the ability to run rule based checks and then to export reports in different formats for post processing before issuing to all relevant members of the design / project team.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shailen T. | Executive Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 08, 2019

**What do you like best about Navisworks?**

The software comes with a handy easy to go with interface. Does the coordination job effectively with just a handful of options. No need to go through 1000 tools. A long list of formats it can import makes the software compatible with any platform. The life cycle simulation tools help a lot in creating effective presentation for your contractor-clients. One can easily generate clash reports. All in all best software for services coordination in market.

**What do you dislike about Navisworks?**

The graphics need to be improved for better visual appeal of projects. Another drawback of the software is its high cost, specially of Manage version. It makes this software out of the reach of smaller firms. Rest everything is good.

**Recommendations to others considering Navisworks:**

I would recommend to use navisworks manage for getting the complete benefit of software and its features. The software would help immensely in the coordination task for a 3D model of a building and would help you maintain a clash report for your client. One can also impress the client with the help of this software's simulation, viewpoint creation and 4D phasing tools.

**What problems is Navisworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Navisworks has helped greatly in easing the coordination work of MEP services in all the construction projects. It plays a major role in clash detection and creating clash reports for client. the software is also of immense hep in creating phase by phase video of building creation. The viewpoint facility provided in software has helped a lot in client communication about clashes.

  ### 30. Enjoyable Program

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2019

**What do you like best about Navisworks?**

Allows you to interact in a 3D experience without unintentionally modifying the main Revit model. Much easier for those who aren't Revit savvy to spin the model around and keep tabs on what is happening during design. Also can run quicker than Revit as it is not doing all the behind the scenes calculations.

**What do you dislike about Navisworks?**

It took a little bit to get used to how to navigate through the model. "Driving" the mouse takes a bit of getting used to and is difficult to explain/teach to others. It also differs with different mouse styles.

**Recommendations to others considering Navisworks:**

It's a good program, may take a little bit to become proficient at it, stick with it, it will be worth it.

**What problems is Navisworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am utilizing the Clash Detection tools inside of Revit for my team. I run it and post it for the team to use. This makes it somewhat easier to track down where there are issues in the model(s). However, this can also be overwhelming and you need to be careful what settings you are using.

  ### 31. Navisworks Pros & Cons

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in E-Learning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 22, 2019

**What do you like best about Navisworks?**

Clash coordination is not possible without Navisworks, it makes the coordination process smoother and easier.
With the help of navisworks we can run clash tests and also we can navigate the model more smoothly in Navisworks for general auditing.

**What do you dislike about Navisworks?**

The different file formats like NWF, NWD, NWC confuses the user sometimes thats the only thing i dont like in Navisworks rest all is fine.

**Recommendations to others considering Navisworks:**

After creating a BIM model Navisworks is the next step if you want to navigate and coordinate. It is easy to learn and a user friendly software.

**What problems is Navisworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With the help of Navisworks we can create search sets and get clashes between particular services and not the full model which is really helpful when you want to solve selective clashes thats the best thing in Navisworks.

  ### 32. Navisworks Review - SG

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 21, 2019

**What do you like best about Navisworks?**

The section view & the ability to measure. It's simple but, it is very powerful and I would say that it is their best tools. The Freedom version is also user friendly so it is easy to teach to others & people in the field do not struggle much when using it.

**What do you dislike about Navisworks?**

I haven't seen much development with Navisworks. Does this mean that we are moving away from Navis as a industry? Would like to know the direction of their development if there are any.

**What problems is Navisworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Clash Detection, Front-End Engineering. Simple but, fixes in the model are much cheaper than the fixes in the field. It also promotes collaboration among the most powerful trades on most of the jobs (MEPFP) early rather than first time out in the field.

Providing visuals have been a great benefit for many of the field staff internally & externally. Owners/Clients are also very appreciative of the efforts of problem solving in the front-end.

  ### 33. Excellent

**Reviewed by:** Genevieve W. | Designer Level 2, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 20, 2019

**What do you like best about Navisworks?**

I use Navisworks as a tool to coordinate across disciplines and across offices and companies to check for clash and interference. I also use it to allow my clients to "walk" through their plant and see the design in perspective to approve or make changes. For this purpose navis is excellent and simple to use even for my clients who are not familiar with the software

**What do you dislike about Navisworks?**

My only suggestion it to be able to snap to model points when using the measure tool such as the center-line of pipes in order to get more precise measurements.

**What problems is Navisworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use navis to do clash detection and check for interference across disciplines

  ### 34. Navisworks as a tool for BIM

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 05, 2019

**What do you like best about Navisworks?**

Navisworks as a tool for BIM can be used for clash detection and auditing of 3d models. It is easy to navigate in Navisworks and audit the model without any lagging. One can append MEP and ASI models and even point cloud for auditing without any lag. Clash detection can be done very easily by selection of elements between which you need to detect the clashes. You can input the tolerance for clashes, Clash detection is an iterative process and hence with the help of Navisworks we can run the clash detection number of times with updated files very easily. One can qlso provide different colours to different elements for easy indentification.

**What do you dislike about Navisworks?**

It's not that easy to navigate in Navisworks in the beginning but once you practice, you will find it easy. Also, naviswork files crashes a lot so keep in mind to save everytime you work on it.

**Recommendations to others considering Navisworks:**

Navisworks is a very good software to be used for people who are in the BIM (Building Information Modelling) field.

**What problems is Navisworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have used Navisworks for auditing 3D models of Archtecture, Structure and MEP. I have also used this software for clash detection in ASI and MEP models.

  ### 35. Very functional for BIM coordination.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jake K. | Design Technician, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 01, 2019

**What do you like best about Navisworks?**

Navis is a beautiful program in the sense of being able to fly across an entire job site within seconds. Without this program, jobs would be complete S*** shows. I thoroughly enjoy it and recommend to ALL designers of all trades.

**What do you dislike about Navisworks?**

The export abilities of this program are awful.

**Recommendations to others considering Navisworks:**

A must-have for all designers doing 3D coordination.

**What problems is Navisworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

All coordination efforts are a piece of cake with this program's clash detector.

  ### 36. Navisworks is a software for reviewing 3d model and check clashes.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 29, 2019

**What do you like best about Navisworks?**

It is so simple software, anyone can easily use this software, we can append as many files we use. From revit we can directly export to nwc, while from fabrication first we have to export in cad and then we can append this cad file in navis.

**What do you dislike about Navisworks?**

There is nothing to dislike, sometimes it takes time to open file.

**Recommendations to others considering Navisworks:**

It's a very great software used for reviewing 3d modelling, clash detection, mark clashes, create viewpoint,it is very easy to find out clash between two services by run clash detective, we can easily measure length with the help of tools, the feature is good, overall good software.

**What problems is Navisworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We can create nwc, nwd and nwf also.if there is any clashes then we can mark up that clash and create viewpoint by making cloud,we can easily export these viewpoints in XML formats and we can easily import.we can run clashes between two services.

  ### 37. I've used Navisworks for about 5 years.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alan B. | Architectural BIM Specialist IV, Architecture & Planning, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 20, 2019

**What do you like best about Navisworks?**

Using it to fly around the model and coordinate between subcontractors.

**What do you dislike about Navisworks?**

It's very easy sometimes to accidentally lose your spot in the model and tough to get it back if you haven't saved the view.

**What problems is Navisworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest benefit is being able to see the 3D AutoCAD models from subcontractor trades in conjunction with the designer's revit models. Then being able to coordinate between the multiple models either through clash detection or seeing where the trades differed from intended design.

  ### 38. Co-ordination & 3D review

Graphics are best and the one can easily review it's 3d modelling whether it is auto cad mep or auto cad mep because many types of files can be imported easily and can be reviewed easily. clash detector and sectioning tools are just amazing to review you whether it is clash or it will look like in real . Walk in option is amazing for real eye caption.

**What do you dislike about Navisworks?**

It got hanged some time which needs to be updated . Rvt file cannot be imported directly and need to be imported which take time . Also when we import DWG file the modell lost all the properties why is it happens .

**Recommendations to others considering Navisworks:**

Very helpful for clash detection and time saving for 3 d view in right angles and projection.

**What problems is Navisworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Am using this software for clash detection and 3 d reviewing of modell it's is very helpful clash detection and viewpoint can be made easily with commands and revision cloud .

**What do you like best about Navisworks?**

Using navisworks we can create search sets which helps a lot in getting specific clashes which I think is the best festure.

**What do you dislike about Navisworks?**

The different formats like NWF, NWD & NWC are a bit confusing in navisworks. I think there should be only one format.

**Recommendations to others considering Navisworks:**

If you want to have a clash free model then navisworks is a key also you can save a lot of time if you want to solve specific amount of clash by using search sets.

**What problems is Navisworks solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Navisworks helps a lot in the correct project delivery as a model gets clash free only with the help of navisworks. Also i can identify particular clashes which only needs to be resolved not all.
