But if they can fix a glitch of who is the domain owner thing. They have an easy to use wizzard when setting up and domains within the platform. They have walkthroughs and information about all aspects of the platform including setup, errors and best practice guides. The tool is great at monitoring domain authenticity and ensuring the domain stays strong with early black list monitoring and alerting. **What do you dislike about MXToolbox?** The package tiering is a bit hard for us to jump from the 5 domain package to the next one at the price offered. The platform as a whole seems to be a little slow when navigating around the interface. **Recommendations to others considering MXToolbox:** When stuck, their are tool tips which should be used to help you fix the issue. if it is unrelated, a quick search using the help of their guides will lead you in the right direction. If you have more than 5 domains in which you need to get control over, you are able to setup a domain and use their wizard to guide you, and then later remove it from the dashboard (only applies to non-selfhosted records) and the domain will maintain its setup. It would just assist in tight budgeted teams getting better deliverability with multiple domains and not having to pay for the next package which is a large monthly fee jump **What problems is MXToolbox solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are fixing our email deliverability issue. We realised that our outbound emails were consistantly landing in SPAM filters. Through the use of the tools diagnostics features, and the ability to self host Auth records made the nightmare of undelivered emails go away. We are able to, withing a short space of time, get out domain health up to a point where we were no longer restricted when contacting new prospects, customers, or stakeholders ### 13. The quote he sent me was for a year contract which I did not want, so I signed up for the month to month. Once the problem was fixed I tried to cancel and I couldn't do it online. I emailed them and they told me I had to call them. After lots of back and fourth they told me I signed a year contract and I couldn't cancel. I would have never signed up for a year. It was a very scammy business practice. Think twice before doing their paid plans. Their free tools are very useful -- but think twice before upgrading to their paid plans. **What do you dislike about MXToolbox?** Like many other software vendors - they make an offer of a risk-free one-month trial. However, they don't actually refund you your money if you cancel before 30 days. Here is my example: I signed up for their delivery center option on November 10, 2018 and was promptly billed $99. I used the service for 2 days, realized the paid features were overkill for my own and customers' needs, so called to cancel November 12 (two days after signup.) They acknowledged my cancellation by email but never credited back my account for the $99. On December 17th I called their toll-free line. Matt on the phone said ("getting a refund would require managers approval and it's not a certain thing.") No sign of any refund as-yet, no confirmation from the company following the call of what to expect on refund. On December 15 I emailed. Their response to my email was "Sorry, we can't process that sort of thing by email. Either call or create a support ticket." Unfortunately, the support ticket option is available only for active subscribers -- so you are left with calling their phone system and having no record of exchange. They are opportunistic about billing you and (in my experience) don't honor the refund they promise as part of their risk-free trial. **Recommendations to others considering MXToolbox:** Use their free tools (they are good.) Their paid tools are overpriced, and they have a misleading "risk-free" plan that will end up costing you $99. **What problems is MXToolbox solving and how is that benefiting you?** Their free tools will help you diagnose MX configuration issues. ### 16. Especially when things are not working it is often a struggle to find the exact reason. Sometimes problems are with a single customer and others have no issues at all. Other issues like rejected mail due to a blacklisted server are hard to explain to users who just want to mail to that one specific person but can't because their server is rejecting yours. With the tools provided by MXToolbox you can get a quick checkup on the server and the environment. When it's blacklisted you get an overview of all the relevant lists. It also monitors it so the admin gets an early alert. Another plus is that MXtoolbox is not just limited to MX stuff but knows enough and has the tools to get a complete picture for all things relevant to successfully send and receive mail. **What do you dislike about MXToolbox?** For the non-technical user there is no easy interface for some quick checks. You really need to know your acronyms and have enough technical knowledge to use the tools effectively. **What problems is MXToolbox solving and how is that benefiting you?** MXToolbox monitors our mailservers and those of customers and alerts the admin in case of troubles.
