If Gordon Ramsey tried this app, he would scream RAW every other second, and here is why. The entire interaction with their support is gaslighting experience in its own right, and they lied about 14 days no questions asked money back. We have tried nearly all self-hosted email apps on the market, so it's not our first rodeo, but this one deserves a special mention.
TLDR: Software is broken, sales lie about no questions asked refund within 14 days, support gaslights you all the way through. Go get yourself Mailwizz or something similar with open source files and adequate support.
1) They have a chat that is never available during N.A. working hours, and even if you do submit a problem then you get ignored, you want to get things moving make sure to submit a ticket from a backend, how did I found it? After talking to their sales in chat. Like it's my fault, I didn't know that.
2) To be clear, we have a full-fledged DevOps with 10 years of experience dealing with servers and email routing. He would be able to solve most of the issues, including famous spaghetti code, if he would see would have access to source files, but since it's encoded with IONcube, that's impossible. The problem is Mumara logs are either don't show you anything useful or tell you a line in PHP files that you can't even open because of the encoding.
3) Support is will tell you it's your fault, you not doing things right off the bat, then they will assure you they are here to please you and call you brother and I'm not exaggerating. Instead of asking for a PMTA config file they asked access to the server with SSH, which is not something you should do if you have any subscribers info there, we didn't, so we decided why not. It took them 4 days to find out that our PMTA configuration file was missing headers from their app, they didn't even have a checklist of things to go through and didn't ask anything just said it's our fault. We checked their docs nonthing about that.
4) Their PMTA module is a poo-poo. The promise is you will get bounce processing in the app via PMTA logs, sounds cool, right? Well, if only it would work. That'll be 397 plus year of beta testing it ( or updates as they call it)
5) "Updates" They have this crazy thing like ghost update "feature" when they update your app without even giving you the warning after you submit a bug, and they figure out another patch. The problem with that is as soon as this forced update happens, you get 500 error somewhere, and you got yourself wondering what is broken now. With regular updates to make them work, you have to update twice. How do we know this? After a lot of WTF moments, we just figured it out. Support as usual blame all on us. If you are here, then means that you’re looking for an Email Software App, because you’re tired of all you’ve tested until now…I know, I was there too, but then I’ve found Mumara Campaigns+ (that’s what I needed), and there starts my journey which I will explain below:
Let’s start with how I got Mumara, right? So…I was using MailWizz at that time (1-2 years ago, and I was using it for 2 years I guess, if not even more), but I was using dedicated IPs, and all the time I was burning the IPs and didn’t understood why, until I figured out that domain tracking is not working as supposed (it was using the tracking domain I was supposing, but also the main domain on which the app was installed on). However, this was my main concern to solve when switched to Mumara, and 1st thing accomplished, because with Mumara you have the Cloacking tracking option, which will pass any filter and won’t show your main domain on which the app is installed (in any header or something else).
I’ve started to avoid domain blacklistings just because of this, and then I started scalling my volumes, domains, and IPs.
Yes, there’s not just UPS in my story, because once I’ve started to scale the volumes, I figured out that again I start to hurt the reputation of my IPs, but guess what, I was blaming the app at that point, but it WASN’T it’s fault, it was mine, because I didn’t understood that I can get a better balance between volumes/domains/IPs, and you know how easy it is with Mumara? Let me explain:
So you just need to create your Broadcast (which will work as a template for the campaign you want to send), then Schedule the Campaign -> Select the list you want to send to -> Select the Broadcast -> Select the Nodes (you can select multiple nodes, you can customize each node which is a dedicated IP or any other ESP (and hell yeah, Mumara gives you the possibility to integrate lots of ESPs and SMTPs) ), btw, you have also the option to select the SMTP Sequence, Fast or Loop (Loop will help you to warmup the IPs while it’s sending 1 email to each IP) -> Set when you want to schedule it and also set the speed of your campaign based on the list volume, use whatever options you want to use as sender info and so on (you need to check because it’s a lot to say here)
However, compared to other apps, instead of taking me almost 4h/day to schedule my hundreds of campaigns with MailWizz, not it takes me about 1h/day…so time efficiently and MOST IMPORTANT: HAVING THINGS ARRANGED!!!
You think that I was always happy with Mumara? Guess what…NO
You know why?
Because it took me a while to understand that it needs hosting resources aswell, according to volumes sent, to database you upload and so on.
BUT MOST IMPORTANT
Mumara team was always there to help me understand what needs to be done, what needs to be upgraded, what I should change and test.
So in other words, Mumara fits to all needs, small to high volumes, and team is always there to HELP, which for me, is the MOST IMPORTANT THING I WAS LOOKING FOR AN EMAIL SOFTWARE APPLICATION. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
That it doesn't have an option to "re-schedule" campaigns in a couple of hours/days/weeks/months, BUT that's something on what team is working on as they've replied to me (because yes, they're active and replying to questions very fast in tickets/forum), and I'm sure that they will deliver it very very soon. So basically it's not something I "dislike", but it's something I can't wait for, and it definitely it would be there soon, because when they say something, it happens, and it takes customers feedback into consideration! Amazing sending app. You can add multiple sending servers and can spin content. And with pmta addon, you can easily setup pmta configuration.
They have top-notch support also; they even installed everything for me for free.
