When it comes to choosing an API platform, as with an other product, there are lot of options with all major vendors offering something unique. For me the most important feature that distinguishes Anypoint Platform from the crowd is that it covers the full life cycle from the desing to the deployment and ultimately the management of APIs. Rich support for the standards like RAML helps designer start prototyping the APIs without worrying about the implementation. Eclipse based studio is a powerful tool for the developers to write integration flows, the rich library of connectors help them complete the API implementation much faster than a traditional development model. The license is very expensive (for a big organization, it is very recommended to have an Enterprise License), in a data flow, only one object contains all activities data (input/output), sometimes we have to write xml because the graphical designer of flows is not responsive. I would have liked mulesoft to introduce more connectors that can integrate with wide variety of AWS services.

AWS service offerings are huge, I am sure we will have more connectors that will help integrating with most AWS services from Mulesoft studio.

Mule is by far the easiest ESB I have been exposed to. I have reviewed several others and all of them are very code oriented requiring a rather steep learning curve just to deploying your first project. With Mule and the drag-n-drop Anypoint Studio deploying your first project is very simple. Performing transformations also is very simply with the DataWeave component. This component is very flexible. Its use can be as simple as dragging one field from the input to the desired location in the output. Or it can be complex allowing you to develop functions to retrieve other data, manipulate the provided data or create new data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

designer had some issues with IE, Mozilla. Runtime manager hangs. Reporting of flow analytics should be more in depth. API designer doesn't provide all the features of comparitive tools like swagger. can be used for multiple purposes like designing and implementing API, developing simple applications, integrating components etc. I and my organization mainly used the tool for designing and implementing of APIs. We also created basic application flow using the tool. The tool has an easy UI for developing applications. With just a drag and drop off icons your flow of the application is ready. In dataweave mapping you have to be sure to map fields inserting right names. There is not provided a control mechanism for verifying it, It is not easy to structure a process hierarchy because you have to develop flows and sub flows in the same xml configuration files, also i would like to interact with Mulesoft support directly from the design environment. DataSense is extremely useful to help ensure that data mappings are accurate and of the same data types. The Anypoint Exhange platform is great for developers to search for existing APIs and Connectors, without needing to work with any individuals.
