**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeff P. | President, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Morningstar Office?**

I love the all-in-one design. This was crucial for me after working at a large B/D with an in-house all-in-one system. Everything in one spot with one look made the transition much smoother for me and transitioning clients.

Combining portfolio research, design, reporting, accounting, billing, and rebalancing yields exceptional data integrity and seamless functionality. Advisor-facing research, reporting, and risk assessments, including simulations, are much better than I had before. Clients love the simple yet comprehensive reports with my own branding.

Access to the Morningstar data, articles, and presentations has provided many co-branded and original marketing content for clients.

Support from Morningstar has been the best in my tech stack. They have an incredible onboarding/training staff and a very helpful and pleasant ongoing support team.

**What do you dislike about Morningstar Office?**

Like all rebalancers and accounting, it takes a little time to get everything set up how you want it.

Goal Bridge has been glitchy at times.

**What problems is Morningstar Office solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Office solves my research, portfolio risk simulations, rebalancing, reporting, billing, client web portal… it’s called an all-in-one for a reason! Importantly, this also gives clients a common aesthetic for nearly all their interactions with my firm.

While generally the product functions admirably, the UI can be confounding or baffling on occasion. Windows and tooltips don't generally carry on as you would, and discovering highlights can demonstrate difficult enough that regularly you end up simply utilizing the hunt to discover them.

**Recommendations to others considering Morningstar Office:**

Simply incredible, I have attempted a few suites (open source and freeware) and the distinctions are humongous! I incline toward this suite overall options out there on the grounds that are sans bug, continually refreshed, and have everything of the element you may require to get an incredible and cleaned work.

**What problems is Morningstar Office solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The office cloud goes about as our portfolio bookkeeping programming and encourages us to monitor exchanges and arrangement of customers

  ### 9. Great App for People in Finance/Insurance

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 01, 2020

**What do you like best about Morningstar Office?**

It's really easy to use. Inputting data in tales some time, but the reports are beautiful, and more importantly, helpful when meeting with clients. They're also very informative and easy to read. Most clients are able to answer their own questions about the activity of the investments in their accounts. Morningstar has essentially helped us build and maintain our business.

**What do you dislike about Morningstar Office?**

Manually entering data isn't fun. I wish integration with Wealthscape becomes a reality. My coworkers and I have to manually enter the values of each investment from each of our clients' accounts into Morningstar and it takes. One of the assistants was assigned to get a few dozen reports done on the week of Christmas (which I had off) and I ended up staying up until 2 AM to do it before client meetings because he didn't get any of it done. It would have been easier if Morningstar was integrated with Wealthscape.

**Recommendations to others considering Morningstar Office:**

Please work on integration with Wealthscape, Paper Clip, etc. It would be so much easier to use if we didn't have to waste our time manually inputting data. Equitable (previously AXA) allowed us to input data straight from their website.

**What problems is Morningstar Office solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Morningstar provides easy-to-generate reports that clients love to receive. They help us acquire more accounts because of the trust it helps us build with clients when seamlessly displaying investment activity. Clients LOVE to receive the reports and end up asking tons of questions. This engagement cultivates our relationship with them and motivates them to open new accounts and invest more money into our firm

Peer analysis is not quite accurate given that every share classes is put in the universe. This means that for some asset class only institutional share class get five stars. Dividing the universe for retail and institutional investors would be a massive improvement

Creating portfolio accounts by inserting funds per quotes is difficult because of the limitation of only two decimals
Contribution analysis is quite complex to use, it needs a lot of elements to be set and not in an intuitive way,

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mandy M. | Client Service Specialist, Financial Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 28, 2019

**What do you like best about Morningstar Office?**

We are very happy with Morningstar Office. It provides what seems like an unlimited amount of data with very robust reports. We're able to customize our own Quarterly Reports so it has our logo on it as well as the look and feel we were going for. We're also using the software in conjunction with TRX to help us with trading in our client's accounts. We've decided to use the Back Office Support (BOS) Team to do our reconciliation as well which has been a HUGE time saver for us! I also can't say enough great things about their customer support. They are great at handling tough problems that may arise and always follow up when needed.

**What do you dislike about Morningstar Office?**

There are SO many reports and SO much data that it can be difficult to find exactly what you are looking for. I've had to call the support team on occasion just so they can point me in the right direction. There are also some reports that I would love to see customizable. The Billing Statement (Invoice) for example is a standard format that cannot be changed.

**Recommendations to others considering Morningstar Office:**

I would recommend going to lots of training sessions when they come to your area. Even if you think you are familiar enough with the product I've always found that we learn a few new things at the trainings.

**What problems is Morningstar Office solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Morningstar Office has allowed us to provide our clients with the data they want to see and how they would like it presented.
