The amount of investment information that is available and the ability to make it visual and easy to understand. There is so much information avaliable. I can get the answer to any investment information I require within a few mins, even including competitor funds and potential clients. As a new user it can be a bit confusing trying to understand where to go for the information I need. Using the learning center can be overwhelming and it isn't easy to navigate. I am still very positive about the overall experience so far Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The speed in extracting/pulling the report is very quick compare to other applications, user friendly and the best thing is we use M* excel addins and it's very useful.

When it comes to few Indices/benchmarks it will take few days in updating it's data correctly,

Next one is M* support, most of the requests/queries will resolve as quick as possible but for few they will take more time in resolving the issue,

There are a few things like "Company Level Total Asset" which gives AMC-wise fund size is currently only for open-ended funds and excludes close-ended funds and ETFs. Again it only considers Quarterly AUM data and the Monthly figures are simply not available. Hope to get such queries solved with the help of the customer support team. I like the summary pages for various products. They provide great information. I also like the new Direct Lens tool and some of the analytics capabilities that have been made available. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The tech side can be frustrating. Direct asks you to log in constantly, even when you just logged in an hour or two ago. I also have been passed around to a handful of relationship managers in just over a year of being a user. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like the automated batch reports which help me send across timely data with no manual intervention. Also helps me create customized templates in presentation studio for reporting purposes. MD has a broad range of different modules and features that can facilitate various types of analyses, insights and presentations. Where the program doesn't have a particular function, the vast amount of investment-specific data available through numerous mediums like email reports or a Python API connection, among others, makes it very helpful to source data to support further insights.

The program's look and feel is somewhat dated and one tends to find some quirky niggles here and there, like slow load times or lack of a simple 'undo' functions within the report-builder (Presentation Studio) function. Another area that tends to come up short is the platform's level of detail on Fixed Income securities. Where the Equity database and categorisation is quite impressive and notably useful, the Fixed Income details tend to be sparse and could limit the usefulness when trying to analyse these exposures within Multi-Asset or Bond/Cash strategies. The portofolio creation is great pretty simple to use, I am able to just copy and paste ISINs from a list and weightings to keep track of portoflios, creating different dates and things like that are quite simple.

Morningstar is an all-in-one stop for fund analysis. It has all of the data you need and gets used all day every day.

The depth of data available is vast, and if there ever is an issue, the customer service team are usually excellent and promptly resolving issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Fixed Income mutual funds are generally more difficult to analyse using this software, some data is missing or just not accurate - I believe this is more due to the nature of the feed from the funds however. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Morningstar Direct provides access to a plethora to asset manager and their funds' datapoints like no other platform. Presentation Studio is very outdated and it is annoying that basic things like changing the size of font cannot be achieved. Similarly, workspace could also be more intuitive to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
