I've worked with MNTN for a few years as a maker producing CTV spots for bigger brands on the platform. I've owned a production company for over a decade and despite my initial skepticism about how the creative as a service model would affect producers like me, MNTN has become one of my most important agency partners. My team works with big ad agencies regularly and sometimes it feels like we spend more time and effort putting on a dog and pony show for the agency than we do making the campaigns themselves. MNTN cuts through a lot of the waste of the traditional agency model and facilitates the relationship between clients and makers as efficiently as possible. This efficiency has advantages for all parties: Clients get our high-end production skills at a much lower cost than they would otherwise. Makers spend less time pitching endlessly and or attending useless internal agency meetings and much more time interfacing with our clients and making our spots better. The MNTN team do a great job being available to support makers and do a great job putting out production problems that might arise while keeping the client's interests in mind. It's everything that is great about an account manager at an agency with less micromanaging and more genuine support. Lastly, and this is no small thing, the MNTN folks are genuinely very nice people and treat us like the professional creatives that we are instead of disposable vendors. In contrast, traditional agencies so often have ego-driven stakeholders who like to lead projects with vendors as if we were interns to terrorize through fear like The Devil Wears Prada. We're not savings lives out here, we're making commercials, and with MNTN it really feels like the account reps and us are on the same team supporting each other to make the best realistic choices to maximize production value for client's budget. All in all, as a maker - MNTN adds stability and predictability to our projects that empowers us to do what we do at an insanely good value to the end client. Projects with long post-production processes should either be allowed to bill in 1/3rds or bill for post-production separately like with more traditional agencies. And it would be great if they could speed up getting payments out. And I think more in-person meetups or conference type events to meet other makers would be great. CTV spots are unique and their education courses to skill up Makers to understand CTV are easy to follow. The team is very good at helping steer creative towards CTV best practices and their expertise and production experience is really helpful. We bid on projects knowing the budget and deliverables ahead of time the system is set up so that making a bid takes about an hour. Our production company has been a QuickFrame Maker since 2022, and we are deeply grateful for the work we've been able to create, the collaboration and trust the QuickFrame / MNTN teams have placed with us over the years and the clients QuickFrame / MNTN have partnered us with. As creatives, the QuickFrame model has enabled us to essentially skip the minutia that comes with finding new clients and helped us to quickly and efficiently connect with like-minded clients who respect high-quality CTV content and are looking for bold creative content that stands out from the fray in today's market. The other value that's been huge for us as creatives specifically has been that the Quickframe / MNTN model enables clients to A/B test different concepts to determine which performs best for their brand and gives them (and us) the intel to understand where to focus their budget for maximum impact / and hopefully ROI. As creatives, this is a game changer because we often just hand off our finished files for distribution by an agency and never really receive data on how our work is performing in the world. Having access to this information beyond just "the ads are doing great" helps us be better partners for both MNTN and our clients because we have the data to show what is working, what industry trends are performing and enables us to be better stewards of client budgets and campaign shelf life. I run a video editing agency and MNTN has been a great partner over the years. They do the vetting for you, so you know you're working with professional clients. This saves a lot of time on my end weeding through job posts and other client proposals that aren't great fits. The team is extremely responsive and always has a positive attitude throughout the duration of the projects. The projects are priced fairly and they aren't simply white labeling us vendors. We have full communication with the client and get to lead the process from end to end. This removes any unnecessary fluff and cuts out needing a middle man to pass messages along. The platform is easy to use and allows for seamless workflows for both the client and maker. This means we can focus on making great CTV spots instead of wasting time jumping through hoops. Ultimately the relationship opens up a new avenue of clients to work with for me and it provides a diverse pool of pre-vetted talent for brands to choose from. I've really enjoyed the relationship because a lot of the awkward and bloated parts of the pre-production process are eliminated or handled by MNTN (client education around the production process, expectation setting, monetary transactions, etc.) That allows me to focus and do what I do best, which is make great videos!
