It comes really handy when I need to create an important document ensuring there are no mistskes or discrepancies that could lead to any potential implications on the business or the target audience. Ability to code a template for ANY situation. Can script complex computations with drag/drop MODELS and expressions,reuse answer files, use looping to generate repetitive lists, ability to test "offline" without disturbing existing templates, ability to insert auxiliary templates within a master template, navigation that allows end user to jump forward or ahead to any place in the interview, rather than having to only go back or forward one screen at a time, use of tables as answer sources, ability to use webhooks to larger data bases. Although this is not considered "No Code" software, those that call themselves "no code" often have to use long workarounds because they can't achieve everything without code. This doesn't bother me, but could bother others... you do need a certain kind of analytical/logical mind to learn how to use all the features of HotDocs within the context of your template. It can be used by someone with no document automation experience, but it would take them a while to learn how to fully take advantage of everything HotDocs offers. Learning to use the program hasn't been the smoothest. However the individual we had training from was great but the fact that we had to pay so much to learn how to use it was frustrating. Having how to documents that are easier to follow would be great and that go over each part of what can be done. I had to keep asking about this and only after asking about something I seen online was I given another link that we should have gotten in the beginning. This link was only sent to me and not the other users even after asking it if was. The set up has been frustrating and learning all it can do I feel is made to be more complicated than it needs to be. Having a direct and easy set up process would have been better also being that documents kept getting sent to an email address of someone who isn't even employed here anymore and I had to keep asking for that to be changed. HotDocs is easy to use for just about anyone. You just have to plug in the information that is interchangeable between client information and the documents are customized for each person. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Sometimes it is confusing when generating certain documents because an extra pop up will come up and you can't tell if the save button is for that document or the original. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The program creates templates automatically, through interviews, with questions and forms, to collect necessary information from the document and complete the data. It also allows the digitalization of electronic signature, so that all our documents are backed by the signatures of the corresponding executives and managers. The interview for data collection, for the creation of the templates, can be quite an overwhelming and lengthy process, so patience is required to complete all the data they ask for. The program is presenting problems with the storage of the information of the templates, as it has more than once asked me for information that I have already provided. I have also had problems with the batch documentation, it does not automatically create the amount of documents that we are requiring, having to repeat the work. Our firm is new to HotDocs and scheduled training with Seth Hanisek. He personalized the training based on our questions and was able to anticipate other issues that we might encounter and guide us through them as well. He was extremely knowledgable and helpful. It would be helpful if the initial tutorial took time to explain the thought process behind the software architecture. Our assumption was that you start with a stripped down document and then add options to it. It would have been helpful to understand it is better to start with a fully complete document with all the options and then select them for exclusion/inclusion.
