**Describe the project or task Mintel helped with:**

We use Mintel for new business pitches, when breaking into a new sector for an existing client, or when doing consumer persona building. We pull the graphs and statistics into our existing client decks to beef up what we're presenting and add solid stats to the idea we're pitching to a client. We specifically heavily use Mintel when it comes to the Alcoholic Beverage and Beauty industries.

**What do you like best about Mintel?**

I love how deep the Mintel insights go. Their reports are very in-depth, with dozens of graphs (or varying styles-- bar, pie, radar plots, etc), case study examples, and well-written insights paragraphs. The sample sizes are large enough to seem representative (usually 2,000+ respondents in each survey they report on). The questions go deep into the top questions a brand may have when targeting users buying within a specific industry. Our Mintel rep is also very responsive and has helped pull together short decks with stats from sectors outside the scope of our annual contract.

**What do you dislike about Mintel?**

There are some areas within the Mintel UI that I find to be a bit useless or redundant. Their industry landscape feature (which looks like a bunch of floating concept bubbles) has never been useful to me. Reading the full reports or downloading the data directly has been of most use to me.

**What problems is Mintel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Instead of having to do our own consumer research to understand consumer motivations, behaviors and product needs, we turn to Mintel. This has been especially helpful when one of our clients is starting to dabble with a business sector or product that's new to them. We can use Mintel reports and stats to tell them what motivates a consumer to buy a product of this type, which helps inform the media strategy and creative messaging we use for our ads.

I've used Mintel in the past to understand foundational insights in food and beverage both domestically and internationally through our subscription, as well as using GNPD to understand the products on shelf.

**What do you like best about Mintel?**

I like that the website is a one-stop shop for foundational insights and think the features for analysis on GNPD are more than enough to answer the questions my team has.

**What do you dislike about Mintel?**

I dislike the difficulty of synthesizing information between the webinars, reports, blog posts, emails, etc. - Sometimes wish there could be better curation of relevant materials.

Being able to enter markets with plant-based products knowing who the consumer is and better understanding their drivers and barriers

IN understanding the various trends in the consumer market. Providing market size and shift in customer purchasing behavior.

**What do you like best about Mintel?**

The best was the simplicity of data. The data was described in a simple and effective way which was backed by tons of information and data trends.

**What do you dislike about Mintel?**

There were certain times when I recent update was not provided by Mintel in certain categories. A report from 5 years ago can't be accepted as the latest report. Therefore, I realized a lot of times that it is difficult to find the updated reports of certain products and categories.

**Recommendations to others considering Mintel:**

It is a very good tool and easy to access data of multiple product segments. You will really appreciate the data you will find in this and hopefully it will provide you some value in your business to grow. These data management tools are a must and Mintel is doing an amazing job in providing data. Accept some updated information is hard to get but still, I will recommend people using this tool to get more insights about FMCG product categories. IN development of product or understanding market size, or customer insights is a great tool. The graphics are nice as well.

**What problems is Mintel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was doing the customer research on their preference in purchasing FMCG products. Example: What are multiple considerable attributes before purchasing a product, Understanding the shift in purchasing behavior and how it has evolved over the years, and future prediction.

Mintel helped in some research projects I was working on, e.g. understanding customer behaviour changes, how retail is changing, etc. I was also working with Mintel on a big project about how to incorporate the changes with Covid-19 to drive better business decisions. Also focused on how we can achieve the agency and client goals easier.

**What do you like best about Mintel?**

It is a very good source of all sorts of information and the numbers provided can support your insights. If needed more data are available on the site and the platform is user friendly to customise and dig deeper. It really helps understanding the customers and brands as well.

**What do you dislike about Mintel?**

Unfortunately, sometimes the data you need is not available so you can face limited source of information. Some themes are just simply not covered by Mintel or not updated for a long time.

**What problems is Mintel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am mostly using to support existing ideas/insights and to come up with new ones. Mintel is great for spotting trends. I think the best part of the product is that is suitable for every level of researches/insights. It can be part of a client pitch, an entirely separate research deep dive. I found it also very useful since we are living in uncertainty and many habits, lifestyles are constantly changing. It helped me better understand and put numbers behind insights.

I used it in the research phase for a few projects that my agency handled. Primarily I accessed the reports to gain a basic understanding of the industry as a whole, and then look for specific areas that needed in-depth research. 

The information provided by mintel was also helpful when making decks. Particularly, the data was well organized for a page like market overview or industry landscape.

I have worked on marketing projects and used minted to find out more about consumers and the industry. The goals were to integrate additional tactics into a media plan. Since I was on the planning team, I  built a media plan that was backed by data in the consumer industry. Coworkers always told me to use Mintel as a source and it truly did help me gather useful information for the projects I worked on at the media agency. I highly recommend this to friends and college students who are learning about the importance of data.

**What do you like best about Mintel?**

Easy to use and offers insights on a variety of trends, which are up to date. The company I worked for had an account with Mintel, so it was a very accessible tool to use. If I ever had a question, there was a support member to help out.

**What do you dislike about Mintel?**

Overall, I like Mintel. If anything, I wish all of the info was more accessible to others. This reporting and insight database would've been handy while I was studying marketing in college. Though I saw Mintel's insights in PowerPoints, I wish I could've gathered more data that was up to date from this resource.

Active communicators and take time to read insights

Everything needs to be backed by data, and using Mintel is a great resource. I wouldn't necessarily say I am solving a problem, but rather would use Mintel for projects that require insights and data to back up what I am saying. People trust data, especially from reliable sources such as Mintel.

Mintel majorly helped me to understand the status of this novel plant based food products which are coming up in the market. Who are the major industrial players working in this area. What is the characteristics of this products, their market value, which helped me in understanding the market of these products

Its a single point of contact database for all your queries on market status, market players, commercial significance of any products and other doubts when you are researching and studying on new food product development

**What do you dislike about Mintel?**

The major downside is the subscription charges, which are quite high. I believe some of the database of Mintel should be made available without subscription, it will help for its better reach.

I am a Food Scientist and we are working on New Food Product development. Currently, we are working on plant-based food products and newer sources that can be explored for the same. Mintel helped me in understanding the market and products related to the area we are exploring.

I was working on an in store bakery category business plan. I found great statistics on where the cstegory was headed and trends within the industry. I was able to use multiple graphs and data visualization tools to illustrate in the presentation.

I love visuals! I'm big on visuals and mintel does an excellent job on showing the data in creative and illustrative ways. This allowed my presentations to look on point and creative.

Sometimes the articles are too specific and focus too indepth on the category. The articles they have are great but not if you're looking for a niche category.

For a client looking at launching a new product, I had to get information about - shopping trends, the extent to which appliances are used in modern homes in America, which ethnicity/class of people purchase kitchen appliances the most, etc. All the research was used to identify the scope of modern kitchen, new appliances and the kind of households that would make such purchases. 

**What do you like best about Mintel?**

I like the wide variety of articles and research. I also like the fact there is information on even niche topics which one would imagine is hard to find. 

**What do you dislike about Mintel?**

I wish the search was more linear. The software is not exactly intuitive, having said that a little bit of poking around can easily help one understand and use Mintel for their research.

I believe it is going to be a good investment as it provides insights into the ongoing market trends and can really help you shape your business decisions accordingly.

I use this service to keep up with today's packaging trends in the consumer goods market. I have only been using it for a couple of months so I cannot speak much to the outcome, but the initial on boarding service has been fantastic. Very responsive and helpful. 

**What do you like best about Mintel?**

The customer service has been great so far. Our rep has worked with us one on one to setup email notifications and tailor our Mintel experience to what we want. 

**What do you dislike about Mintel?**

I have only played around on the website a handful of times, but it is not the most intuitive interface I have worked on. I think it will take a little practice to be able to use it by myself efficiently and effectively.

I was able to find several companies to prospect into based on their direct mail and email marketing efforts. It is easy to use and our account manager is always available if we need anything. 

**What do you dislike about Mintel?**

We only have access to 80 K panelists vs. several million, so we do not have access to all data available. But, our account manager is always willing to help us with search the whole database.

We were trying to find companies who send the most direct mail or emails pertaining to New Mover programs. We also use it for competitive intelligence to present to our customers.

**What do you like best about Mintel?**

My favorite part about this website is how easy it is to find reports on categories (specifically food & drink). I work for a plastic packaging company and we are constantly looking up reports for various categories. I also like how you can look up specific companies if you need information about them. The industry reports on the website are always extremely thorough and filled with useful information. When doing category overviews, I get almost all of my information from Mintel. 

**What do you dislike about Mintel?**

The only thing that I dislike about the website is that it can be confusing to navigate at times. There have been times when I have been looking for specific information (such as information related to market size) and I cannot find it. There are also some problems occasionally when downloading their information.

If you're looking for a database that has up-to-date information and industry reports, Mintel is the website for you.

I am part of the business intelligence team where I work and so we are constantly getting information requests from other departments. We use Mintel to find data that the other departments are looking for. This is a huge benefit to our company because we can learn more about the market segments that we have products in.

**What do you like best about Mintel?**

It saves a ton of time reading. They've managed to capture where an industry has come from, where it is now, and where it's going in short easy copy. As a planner in advertising this is crucial anytime a new brand crosses my desk and I need to understand the context quick. Essential information and tons of time saved. The research they've done with consumers is directional, but has come in handy more than once when sharing the context with clients.

**What do you dislike about Mintel?**

Sometimes I go there for a report and it's not there or is coming out soon - but I need it now. I know it's subscription based on whatever my employer has agreed to but I am annoyed at times when the perfect report is available but I can't access it. It's none of MINTEL's fault but it is a negative. I almost wish there was a half-report available with a portion of the information available for a smaller cost than the complete report.

**Recommendations to others considering Mintel:**

try it, and take advantage of the representatives. they have often helped me out when i needed help with something unique.

**What do you like best about Mintel?**

What I like best is the ability to quickly search for reports in a large variety of industries and categories. I also like that they usually update their reports every year or at least once every two years. Their monthly newsletter is also helpful in keeping the team up to date with the latest research news. Mintel is a must-have for any research, planning, strategy, or insights team! 

**What do you dislike about Mintel?**

It would be nice to have part of the trends reports included in the general Mintel platform, but overall great solution. 

**Recommendations to others considering Mintel:**

Great research tool for anyone looking for insights in any topic! Its ability to quickly search for reports in a large variety of industries and categories is very helpful.Would highly recommend if you have the budget!

Mintel provides a broad spectrum of reports that are very useful for market research and keeping up on industry trends. I trust the sources cited in Mintel reports, and go to it first when beginning a research project focused around marketing or advertising.

**What do you dislike about Mintel?**

There is not much I dislike about Mintel. Sometimes the search function isn't as useful as it could be. I often don't find the reports I'm looking for right away and a more detailed search capability would help make this process easier. 

**Recommendations to others considering Mintel:**

I would highly recommend Mintel for a range of research needs. I trust the sources cited in the reports, and am comfortable sharing information in Mintel reports with clients because I know Mintel is a reputable source in my industry.
