Minitab Statistical Software Reviews & Product Details

We are having a lot of defects however many of our process are manual and don’t collect data via a plc. I believe minitab has a function that helps with variable attributes

How the user interface and data manipulation has improved. I have been using this software for more than 20 years and i suffered and enjoyed the user interaction improvement. It is not that i do not like, but it would be great to ease (at least for me) the macro creation. I have worked to create specific macros to semi-automate dashboard creation for non Minitab regular users and, eve though it worked, it wasn’t an easy task. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Minitab has numinous possibilities, and I have been able to attempt to use quite a few of the available options to run statistical software analysis for our products and inventory. As a consultant, we used to get free use of the software (our Lean Six Sigma training had Minitab embedded in it, and we introduced Minitab to our clients as well as doing initial training of client personnel on how to use the Minitab s/w to analyze their data and often helped apply some of the additional elements that the client may never have realized could be applied to their problems or efforts to optimize operations, such as Monte Carlo simulation. Minitab Support articles are generally very thorough, walking you through more than how to perform the action in Minitab. You are given data considerations you need, optimal parameters, and how to read the output. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Minitab does have some confusing menus, and there are a lot of submenus or options that take time to find.

Also, in my career I’ve had many unfamiliar engineers adjust settings they don’t fully understand because they are marked as options, but not explained to the extent they need to be. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Powerful statistical analysis software. Easy to use. Powerful data visualization tool. It is easy to create graphs to demonstrate improvements or process changes. I also like how easy is to slice up your data by stratification factors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Data manipulation is not self intuitive. May need to work in a spreadsheet first and then send it over to Minitab. Also, the interface for Mac is not the same as for Windows users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It has capabilities to do most any type of statistical analysis relatively well. It is a broad package that offers a multitude of diffeent tools, and thus a very practical and powerful tool for a practicing statistician, engineer, or others engaged in data analysis and statistical application. I wish you could highlight the analysis in the Navigator that you want to look at, and then get back to the Dialogue Box that produced that analysis. Often there are subtle differences in analysis depending on options chosen, and without access to the affiliated dialogue box it is difficult (if possible) to determine the options/setup that was selected for that analytical output. I would also like to see some of the data management tools for the spreadsheet be a bit more "Excel-ish". Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
