Mindmanager enables you to create images of complex situations that look professional and impressive. It's easy to attach documents, write detailed notes, or provide a URL to enhance the information provided without being visually overwhelming. I also like that most aspects of map design are intuitive and can be quickly absorbed by most users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Sometimes it is difficult to align the text boxes to the exact position you want. The final visual impact is very important and it can be difficult to stack multiple call boxes etc. exactly as you want. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Back in 2002, a Strategic Thinking instructor taught his class using MindManager. I was amazed. It was enticing to understand new concepts using mind maps that encapsulate complexity. I purchased my license and have been using it ever since. The results obtained over the years confirm that this has been an essential software investment. MindManager helps me excel. I prefer the desktop version to the Web version. Still, I use the Web version to convert my mind maps into HTML5 files that I can easily share with people that want to interact with the information. Instead of worrying about picking the picking the perfect Design Thinking / strategy / innovation SAAS solution I use MindManager as an interface with Podio. MM allows for flexibility and there are tons of templates to stimulate MM. MM has rich functionality; but I add links to a Podio environment to keep my mind map content under control. MindManager doesn't interfere with the design process. It enables me to update current maps' layouts quickly and to have multiple formats for different levels of the map. MindManager allows me to interact with teams on fast-shifting ideas. We can swiftly rearrange the map without causing it to break. Changing any map element's colours, shapes, and font takes only a few clicks and can be easily transferred to other areas of the map using the format painter. I'm not too fond of the company's pricing strategy; firstly, I find it to be a little expensive, and the second issue is the one-time yearly payment makes you bound to use it for a year. I would prefer having a subscription model as it's easier and can be cancelled anytime. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like being able to show data and information in a visual way to share with colleagues or for presenting. I have also been learning a lot about how to use this program from different resources available and I love this program more and more every day. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I don't like doing process maps on here yet, I find that Visio is still easier to use for process mapping. The relationship tool is what turns me off from using MindManager for process maps. There are a couple times I had to force close out because the tool would not let me easily cancel the action. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The ability to brain dump, ideas and factors that are playing in the natural order of understanding and decision making - then being able to link, move and attach supporting concepts and data (attachments links etc) into a framework structure that leads your communication and socialising of ideas, arguments or concepts to others Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Its nothing specific that I dont like - the integration and licensing for MM - is a little restrictive, in that most organisations don't see it as a mainstream application like O365 - therefore it is handled on an exception basis - meaning often there are few others in the organisation with which to collaborate. It is easy and intuitive to use and allows for the rapid capture and grouping of thoughts, ideas and learning topics. I have been using Mindmanager since the late 1990's in my role as a creative entrepreneur. I love Mindmanager, but am concerned that the corporate approach to blowing Mindmanager into a massive and expensive tool will lead to small entrepreneurs like me in a developing country not being able to afford it anymore. I like that I can do a very simple diagram (map) when I just need a quick visualization or I can scale up to very detailed flows with notes, tags, resources etc. if that's what the task demands. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I've used Visio, AutoCAD, and PowerPoint in the past for different types of diagrams. One thing I feel is missing in MindManager that would let me forget about those other applications is the ability to position objects absolutely in a defined space and know that they won't move. I find that helpful in creating "static" material for print or for slide-type presentations. This is a minor annoyance, but does mean that those other tools stay in my arsenal. MindManager has a new slide deck template, but it's not quite mature enough for my liking yet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The best thing about this tool is the ability to add notes to table elements along with its pdf export feature. In a cross-platform company like ours, being able to patch through Windows and mobile devices at the same time is a very useful feature. I wanted an easier process for maps customization, for example. with fonts, colors, etc. private. I know it can be done but I wish it was easier and in the latest version I am having trouble connecting to Outlook email. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
