Our team deployed Milestone XProject in a manufacturing facility to monitor production area, warehouses and office security. 1. Milestone XProtect has the ability to view life feeds from multiple buildings in real time.

2. Features like motion detection, facial recognition and automated alerts help us respond faster to incidents.

3. For authorised personal access we could setup roll based access for different teams.

Things that i like very much about Milestone xproject from security point of view are -

1) I liked its reliabitlity and modern features like object detection and search based on artificial intelligence.

2) Its dashboard is user friendly and i find no shortcoming while i work on it and setting up process was made easier by customer support which are well trained and qualified.

3) Our inventories and data room is secured because there is no feed problem .

I have tried different software over the years and i found milestone to be best fit and most reliable among all for securing the work site .It has equipped with most advance features including object detecting and Artificial intelligence based search sysyem. I find it easy to use , storage, cameras, functionality all there in the management system and how easy it is to update and keep a check on all the CCTV being used in the surveillance system .Support is outstanding as well we have a premium service account . One minor point is that there is a bit of a learning curve to fully utilize all of the advanced features and minor buggy functionality make it slight to use. Ease of use, storage, cameras, functionality all there in the Management Client.

Easy to add users, AD groups to Roles and these Roles is easy to devout specific cameras to each individual Role.

If your system has many cameras (150 or more) finding it is difficult thru the Servers-->Recording Servers--> Recording Server Name

And using that Floating Filter above the Recording Server is painful as it is movable and after initializing will not return back to default unless reverting to "Reset Application Layout" then closing and reopening the Management Client.

Also I used to use the Management Client "System Monitor" to view which cameras are using the most disk space... Now after viewing it I cannot double click "Used Space" and have it auto sort by the lowest or even the highest metrics. I have to export it to an Excel spreadsheet to do that. Milestone software has become our favorite security management tool which we get so comfortable on using it due to its modern yet lightweight on our medium spec devices without causing crash or something which is our favourite thing. We've been using Milestone 24/7, and it has exceeded all my expectations! The applicatie provides a seamless, user-friendly experience while offering powerful and comprehensive security features. While the basics are easy to grasp, it took me some time to get familiar with the more sophisticated settings and options. However, once you get the hang of it, the possibilities are impressive! It's robust but easy to navigate, it has a plethora or permissions to create a very complex system segmented over a large organization by department. Almost anything can be done with Rules if you take the time to figure it out. I worked as an integrator for years installing Genetec, Milestone, Avigilon, Lenel video, etc, and as am end user now I still stick with Milestone for the forseeable future. I used Milestone every single day, full-time at work and running my home security system at home. Customer service is always available and eager to remote in and dive into whatever issue we may be having. Implementation is not too bad compared to some other camera or access control system, everything can be ran from one server if the system is small or the computer is robust enough. It's an open platform so is compatible with almost everything under the sun, integration into Lenel is not only supported but encourage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Downsides minor in my opinion, there are a few things I wish were available, such as a feature similar to "area access manager" in say Lenel that would allow a department to add user to their view groups but only their view groups. There are some features that would be easy to implement that I believe may be held out of updates because they are offered by a paid third party service (Boring Labs). There needs to be a way to easily run a report showing your cameras and how much storage they are consuming, features like that are heavily used as selling points for Boring Labs but realistically could just be included in Milestone. The view creation in Smart Client is fine, but customization is limited more than some competitors. Smart Wall is an option, but moving a major system from Avigilon to Milestone really highlighted the low variation in preset Milestone views compared to what was in place previously.
