What do you like best about Microsoft Sentinel?

One of the best things is the seamless integriation with the Azure platform and the XDR stack, which makes this a really powerfull product. The KQL language is really strong and quite easy to learn, The product team is listening very good to the community and new features are developed at a fast pace. Having seen multiple SIEM solutions I really enjoy the integration of SIEM and SOAR functionality combined with strong AI and ML

The every growing list of connectors, solutions for a large number of both Micrsoft as 3rd party products makes adoption easier than other SIEM solutions Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft Sentinel?

Being a cloud platform there are moments where certain tenants behave slower than others. For me it is not really traceable where this comes from, and might impact the performance and reliability of the product.

The cost model can sometimes be hard to predict up front and it is not the cheapest product.

The incident handling in Sentinel is not that user friendly for SOC analysts, often these incidents are handled in another platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Microsoft Sentinel solving and how is that benefiting you?

I use it to replace legacy and on-prem SIEM solutons that have performance problems and lack scalabilty. Sentinel is very scaleable and when the tenant behaves well, the KQL queries are pretty fast. Another benefit is that separate tools are replaced by a single Sentinel environment, where SIEM, SOAR, reporting come together. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft Defender for Identity?

Cost is the main concern when it goes to this, while it is competive to the market and similar products, its still the main factor why not all of our companies are using the product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Microsoft Defender for Identity solving and how is that benefiting you?

It helps with email and threat protection. It keeps our network secure from cyber attacks at the workstation and user level. I ticks our cyber compliance policy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
