What do you like best about Microsoft Photos?

Microsoft Photos offers several great features that make it a standout application for managing and editing photos. I appreciate its user-friendly interface, which makes it easy for users to organize and navigate through their photo libraries. The ability to create albums and organize photos by date, location, or people is very convenient.

The editing tools in Microsoft Photos are also impressive. I like the variety of options available for enhancing photos, such as cropping, rotating, adjusting exposure, and applying filters. The automatic editing features are also quite handy, allowing users to quickly improve the quality of their photos with just a few clicks.

Another standout feature of Microsoft Photos is its integration with other Microsoft services, such as OneDrive. This makes it easy to access and edit photos across different devices, and the seamless integration enhances the overall user experience.

Overall, Microsoft Photos is a well-rounded application that offers a smooth and intuitive experience for organizing and editing photos. Its features and capabilities make it a valuable tool for anyone looking to manage their photo collection and enhance their images with ease. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft Photos?

While Microsoft Photos offers many impressive features, there are certain areas that some users might find lacking. One common criticism is the lack of more advanced editing tools compared to dedicated photo editing software. Users who require more advanced features such as layers, advanced retouching tools, or intricate effects might find Microsoft Photos to be somewhat limited in this regard.

Additionally, some users have reported performance issues, particularly with larger photo libraries. As the size of the photo collection grows, the application's performance may suffer, resulting in slower navigation and editing processes. This can be frustrating for users who work with extensive libraries of images.

Another concern is the limited integration with non-Microsoft services and platforms. While Microsoft Photos integrates seamlessly with OneDrive and other Microsoft applications, it may not offer the same level of integration with third-party cloud storage services or photo-sharing platforms, which can be a drawback for users with diverse digital ecosystems.

Furthermore, some users have expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of support for certain file formats or the inability to handle specific types of media, such as videos, in the same comprehensive manner as photos. This limitation can be inconvenient for users who work with a variety of media types and require a more unified solution for managing and editing their digital content.

Overall, while Microsoft Photos provides a solid set of features for photo management and basic editing, there are areas where it may fall short of meeting the needs of users with more advanced or specific requirements. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Microsoft Photos solving and how is that benefiting you?

Microsoft Photos addresses several common challenges related to photo management and editing, offering benefits that can improve the overall experience for users. Some of the problems it solves and the associated benefits include:

1. Photo Organization: Microsoft Photos provides a streamlined solution for organizing large photo collections. By allowing users to create albums, tag people, and sort photos by date and location, the application helps users maintain a well-organized and easily accessible photo library. This simplifies the process of locating specific images and enhances overall photo management efficiency.

2. Seamless Integration: The integration of Microsoft Photos with other Microsoft services, such as OneDrive, offers users the benefit of effortless synchronization and access to their photos across different devices. This eliminates the need for manual file transfers and ensures that users can easily edit, share, and access their photos from various platforms, enhancing convenience and accessibility.

3. Basic Photo Editing: Microsoft Photos equips users with essential photo editing tools, including cropping, rotating, and applying filters. These features enable users to make basic enhancements to their photos without the need for more advanced and complex editing software. This benefit is particularly advantageous for casual users who seek quick and straightforward editing options.

4. Automatic Enhancements: The automatic editing features in Microsoft Photos, such as auto-enhance and auto-collage, simplify the process of enhancing the quality of images with minimal effort. This benefit is particularly useful for users who want to improve the visual appeal of their photos without investing significant time and effort in manual editing.

5. Accessibility and Usability: Microsoft Photos offers a user-friendly interface that enhances accessibility and usability for a wide range of users. The intuitive design and straightforward navigation make it easier for users to manage and edit their photos, regardless of their level of technical expertise. This benefit can be especially valuable for individuals who prefer a simple and straightforward photo management solution.

Overall, the problems Microsoft Photos solves and the associated benefits contribute to a more efficient, organized, and accessible photo management and editing experience for users. Whether it's streamlining photo organization, offering basic editing tools, or providing seamless integration with other platforms, Microsoft Photos addresses common pain points and enhances the overall usability and convenience of managing and enhancing digital photos. As a regular user of MS Photos I have realised that it is the most reliable and convinient tool for managing my photos. What do you like best about Microsoft Photos?

The best thing about Microsoft Photos is viewing photos is simple due to an excellent interface. That's why I always store pictures on a laptop. It is easier to find photos of particular events and recent memories by making a folder and clicking the left or right arrow to switch images. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft Photos?

As a college student, photo editing is often required, but this photo editor has fewer functions than needed, like an eraser. Photos occasionally crashed within Windows 10, in Photos’ case, after editing an image and then trying to save it. Sometimes my edits will hold, and sometimes they won’t. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Microsoft Photos solving and how is that benefiting you?

Using other software apps to view photos, they pop up ads that disturb the mindset while using it for a work. It was very helpful when we had to submit our assignments and projects. It helps me to see images with various view options (Large icon, Small icon, Tiles, List) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
