There are multiple reasons why defender for O365 is a great choice, out of those one reason is that it provides strong protection to cyber-threats and emails by aligning with zero trust protocol making it easy to use. Defender is absolutely sufficient. In fact for a small business having as many systems in a single platform that your staff is comfortable supporting is far more important than having the bleeding edge anti-virus/anti-malware/whatever in disparate systems that a small team will struggle to operationalise. we have configured some policy's for secure Email collaboration, like safe attachments, safe link and etc. it's recommended to avoid any potential issues.

Microsoft Defender for Endpoint ,
