## Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management Reviews
  ### 1. Set-It-and-Forget-It Simplicity That Gets the Job Done

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel S. | Senior Lead Information Security Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management?**

It can be treated like a set it and forget it app. The space is crowded with various other vendors. It does do the job well for what it is.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management?**

The UI is easy to navigate for staff. The performance is good and does not degrade production. Onboarding was straight forward, and don't hesitate to lean on their technical sales to assist. Pricing was ok, but there are lots of options out there. Use of AI / intelligence is hype everywhere, and I tend to take it with a grain of salt. It does automate aspects to make small teams function well. Look at what it does reliably, and make a decision. Integrations are solid for what I would like it to do, so no complaints here. If there is a specific integration you must have, ask prior.

**What problems is Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is providing the ability to show CVEs to our teams so that we may remediate them in a timely manner. There has been issues we are working through with false positives which is a major down side.

  ### 2. Probably the best choice to defend your PC (Windows 10 and 11)

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Markus M. | CFO, Biotechnology, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management?**

Already built into the Windows System, with it highly suitable without any system errors. A great tool to protect from maleware and an easy program to run behind the scene.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management?**

Like with any software there are always some issues. However, with continues updates these smaller issues will be resolved hopefully.

**What problems is Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is a smart assessment tool which is working not only with Windows but also IOS which is an interesting feature in an organisation which deals with various platforms.

  ### 3. Amazing vulnerability management solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marko V. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 25, 2023

**What do you like best about Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management?**

There are many solutions on the market for this purpose, but only few of them are non-demanding for CPU/Memory like Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management. You really cannot notice it's working, no affection at all on system speed, but it gets the job done perfectly. Customization is also great, and can be configured just for your needs very quickly.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management?**

No downsides really. Great example how Vulnerability Management solution should look and work.

**What problems is Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It blocks all possible threats in our systems very efficiantly, updates itself on it's own, so it's a fantastic solution that doesnt require "maintenance".

  ### 4. Cross Platform and required

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Entertainment | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 03, 2023

**What do you like best about Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management?**

Considering the history of the company, I'm no fan of Microsoft. It does cover our requirement to have some Vulnerability Management on every workstation and also covers some of our servers. It's free for us for the most part because of Office 365 and Azure AD. Installation was easy and didn't require any additional setup or configuration.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management?**

On my personal workstation (MacBook) it visibly slowed down my machine. I guess this should be expected for the work that it's doing. I don't think I've had a hit on my workstation since installation.

**What problems is Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a cross platform Vulnerability Management platform and this definitely serves the purpose and at the right price. Another solution would have been a significant cost increase.

  ### 5. Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management - Dashboard of Security

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mohanbabu S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 10, 2023

**What do you like best about Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management?**

The results I've gotten from using Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management have been satisfactory. Our company has been able to more effectively identify and respond to potential breaches in security thanks to the product's capabilities. Our company has been able to improve its security posture and lower the danger of being attacked by cybercriminals as a direct result of implementing this product, which offers a comprehensive solution for vulnerability management.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management?**

1. The dashboard can be confusing and difficult to use for first-time users; additional training is required to make full use of all of the capabilities.
2. The capabilities of reporting could be increased in order to provide more thorough information about vulnerabilities and the potential impact of those vulnerabilities.
3. Support for third-party goods is severely limited

**What problems is Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1. The system has a centralised platform for vulnerability management, which makes it simple to keep track of remediation efforts and arrange them in priority order.
2. The time and resources that our information technology team has saved as a result of the automatic scanning and reporting functionalities are significant.
3. A complete security solution is offered as a result of the integration with many additional Microsoft security technologies, including Defender from Microsoft ATP and Azure Security Centre.
4. One of the most significant features is the opportunity to personalise the vulnerability assessment policies in accordance with the individual demands and compliance requirements of our organisation.

  ### 6. It is a comprehensive solution for Identifying, prioritizing and remediating

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Atchuet Kumar C. | Senior Software Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management?**

I appreciate this because of its integration with other MS security tools, threat intelligence for up-to-date insights, the automation of vulnerability management workflows and comprehensive reporting and monitoring capabilities. These features can help us more efficiently manage vulnerability and improve overall security.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management?**

As it is primarily designed for Windows-based systems, there could be limitations for organizations with diverse IT environments. The vulnerability management workflow automation does not support all operating systems, and EDR does not support all types of Linux and Unix systems. Even on Windows-based systems, detections are not always accurate.

**What problems is Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's helping us improve our security posture by identifying the vulnerabilities in the systems and applications. By gaining visibility into these vulnerabilities, we are prioritising the remediations based on the risk scores provided by MDE. As it provides remediation guidance, it helps our team reduce the time it takes to remediate the vulnerabilities properly. And due to its integration with other MS tools like Intune, coordination between teams and response capabilities are also enhanced. With these features, MD vulnerability management assists us in proactively managing vulnerabilities, reducing risk, and strengthening our overall security posture.

  ### 7. A sufficient solution for security by Microsoft

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ambrish M. | Network Security Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 22, 2023

**What do you like best about Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management?**

The Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management is a very effective and decent product in the security domain if used correctly and comes built in with microsoft systems and is very easy to configure.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management?**

the microsoft needs to maret this product a bit more, people are unaware about this security solution. I suggest that it should be marketed more than before that people shoul start using this instead of any third party vulnerability mangement solutions.

**What problems is Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is providing security solution at the computing level for the endpoint devices & I believe that if it is in good hands we can get the best from this type of security solution .

  ### 8. Overall good software. Easy to use.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** VIVEK P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 12, 2023

**What do you like best about Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management?**

Since it is integrated into Windows, we don't need any additional purchases. Also seamless integration with Windows, makes the software much easy to use. It compares very well with competitors.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management?**

Online presence is less. Other antivirus have online monitoring systems, which check each and every website we visit and block malicious websites. Would very much like to see this in Microsoft Defender.

**What problems is Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problem is keeping my systems virus-free and protected. Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management is solving those issues without any additional purchases. This is really benefitting.

  ### 9. Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shehzad S. | Computer Operator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 14, 2023

**What do you like best about Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management?**

Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management is a powerful tool that helps organizations to identify and address potential security weaknesses in their network infrastructure. As a language model, I cannot use software, but I can provide insights on it.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management?**

I think Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management is working well.

**What problems is Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One of the standout features of Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management is its ability to scan systems for vulnerabilities and provide detailed information about the nature and severity of any issues that are found. The tool uses a variety of techniques to detect vulnerabilities, including vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and network analysis. This ensures that organizations can quickly identify potential security threats and take action to mitigate them before they can be exploited by attackers.

  ### 10. Microsoft Defender getting better over time

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tushar B. | Associate Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management?**

From personal experience, Microsoft defender vulnerability management has got much better over time. Compared to the nunber of issues it used to have 3-4 years back, now its much more dependable for safety of your computer. Ofcourse, there are still more matured third party defenders out there but they hide behind an extra level of paywall.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management?**

There is still loads of improvement that can be done, specially around the UI changes made in windows 11. Things have become a bit more complex for new users & UI can be more streamlined. Then comes the safety feature updates which have become quite frequent but still lack some of the features provided by other defenders.

**What problems is Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Microsoft Defender Vulnerability management helps keep the systems clean of unwanted & malicious softwares & files. Blocking potential hostile pieces of virus from exploiting your systems.
