The multiple-choice quizzes are simple to set up, and the interactivity keeps students very engaged, far better than any other similar tool I’ve tried. I used many other functionalities but MCQs, word clouds, and Q&A were my favourites and these always made the class more dynamic and fun. It’s become a core part of how I make lectures more active. **What do you dislike about Mentimeter?** Customization options for slides are a bit limited. The default templates look great, but sometimes I wish there were an “advanced edit” mode for finer control over layout or design. Every time I teach a class and use Mentimeter, faculty ask me about my use of it - they often times have never seen it or heard of it! As the product has evolved, they keep making it easier and easier to use. Creating slides is a breeze, and I love the Text slide now that offers a variety of text options - there used to be too many text-related slides and knowing which one to use was confusing. I think the most important reason I love Mentimeter is the engagement opportunities that are present. Students appreciate having multiple ways to engage with me during presentations, they love the anonymity of sharing their thoughts through open-ended questions, and for some, they really love the Quiz/Competition features! **What do you dislike about Mentimeter?** One issue with Mentimeter is navigating through your old presentations - it's hard sometimes to find the exact presentation you need and that eats into my preparation time. Not sure how best to address that but that is a sticking point for me! **What problems is Mentimeter solving and how is that benefiting you?** Mentimeter is solving the problem of student engagement - the tool allows me to create clean simple slides that are easy for students to understand, while also incorporating engagement activities to keep students interested in my lessons. ### 3. I teach college accounting. I make two menti interactive “exit tickets” for each chapter in my courses. It takes less than 5 minutes, and provides me with feedback on what students are struggling with. I download the results to excel. The first open ended question asks the students to type their last name. This allows me to alphabetize the results for use as an attendance tracker. I also enter the points earned in the grade book for engagement points. The students like it. It is affordable. And it works well for the 250 students I see twice a week. I even gave a 30 minute demonstration of how I use Menti in class to the South Carolina Association of Accounting Educators conference in 2025. Easy to use. I only wish it exported formats that can be imported to various LMS systems like blackboard, D2L brightspace, and canvas. I highly recommend MentiMeter for higher education classes. **What do you dislike about Mentimeter?** It took some time to set up, but it was reasonably easy. I wish it would integrate with the top Learning Management Systems used by colleges. I would also like to be able to set the points for each question. It provides a variety of ways to create meaningful dialogue and interaction with the topic at hand. Whether it's to ascertain prior knowledge through quizzes, polls to identify levels of understanding and confidence, or ways of creating discussions and debate around questions and topics, Mentimeter as a platform makes this easy to achieve. It also makes it easy to take a session to various locations with the ease of using the cloud storage and being able to organise workshops for different groups in the folder system. The sessions have been easy to integrate into a series of workshops, and the ease of use has improved how we collect and evaluate our workshops, both in terms of frequency and volume of survey responses we collect. **What do you dislike about Mentimeter?** Mentimeter is very standardised and therefore difficult to customise to the extent that you can on PowerPoint or Google Slides. This is easy to overcome with a combination of the plug-in and PowerPoint, however the limitations in the platform are a minor hurdle rather than a large flaw. The range of interactive tools could be improved, and I'd love to see some new additions, particularly for online delivery rather than classroom. **What problems is Mentimeter solving and how is that benefiting you?** Mentimeter is helping us to break to model of simply presenting content to large workshop audiences, and create more participatory learning through the polling and quiz tools. Taking somewhat dry subjects such as recruitment and selection processes, and gamifying the topics make them more engaging with our students and we are getting positive feedback about the experience from students. It's therefore changing the dynamic of our workshops into a more inclusive form of delivery. ### 5. I wouldn't be able to monitor 125 individuals participation without wasting precious time and would lose people's attention if I even attempted to babysit students. The participation indicators allow me to monitor involvement easily. Students feedback for learning any topic with mentimeter interactive session was almost 90-100 points in a scale of 1-100 (ranked in mentimeter screen). while class finished they wanted every class from now on with this app. The bottom line is it is changing students mentality to attend class, now onwards I hope student will ensure their presence in the class for this kind of activity.
