## Menlo Security Reviews
 ### 1. Top-Tier Extra Security Layer with Powerful URL Controls and Logs

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dean G. | Network Security Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Menlo Security?**

Menlo Security is one of the best security appliances. We are using this on American Express. For me, the best one is how it provides extra layer of security when users are accessing internet URLs. We can have an isolated extra security for sensitive jobs that has PIIs on their daily work. Its logs is one of our go to when checking internet traffic of our users. We can see if a site is bad or not. We can enforce it to be read, read/write, or be blocked. Its monitoring is also top tier. We are using it to check the top web sites, top users, or top threats. Its reporting is also nice. Very well made and easy to understand. But for me, the best one is the Web Logs. This is my most used feature of Menlo Security.

**What do you dislike about Menlo Security?**

I have nothing that I don't like in the appliance. Maybe, I just want to add this extra feature. Feature to easily categorize an uncategorized site. We are going to another URL to make an uncategorized site to be categorized. If we can make something inside of Menlo Security to make an uncategorized site be categorized easily and see the ticket there, and not going to another URL, that would be great.

**What problems is Menlo Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Primarily is the extra layer of security especially with our Customer Care Professionals - when browsing, when accessing a website from an email, etc. This extra layer of security is surely helpful since we are American Express, there are personal information that are stored in our devices, and this are protected surely. Next thing is the logs. I surely liked the Web Logs. I can see everything there if I troubleshoot something - the URL, timestamp, actions, and etc.

 ### 2. Industry-Leading Browser Security and Email Link Inspection

**Reviewed by:** Paolo A. | Network Security Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Menlo Security?**

Menlo Security delivers industry-leading browser security and email links inspection, protecting users as they access external websites. The Menlo Admin GUI console simplifies monitoring of logs and troubleshooting, thus, not requiring for complex configurations or advanced expertise. With these, it provides clear visibility into browser activity and security events, which helps to confidently manage risk while maintaining best user browsing experience.

**What do you dislike about Menlo Security?**

There is very little to dislike about Menlo Security, as it adds a powerful layer of protection to user browsing. On rare occasions, website categorization may be affected due to third-party limitations, however, Menlo Security responds quickly to address and resolve these issues.

**What problems is Menlo Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Menlo Security focuses on protecting users at the point of interaction by securing web browsing and inspecting email links for threats such as phishing and social engineering attacks. This proactive approach is especially effective in preventing malicious activity before users can be impacted, significantly reducing the risk of phishing and other web-based threats.

 ### 3. Transparent and Seamless Browser Isolation with User-Friendly GUI.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jomar A. | Information Security Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 06, 2026

**What do you like best about Menlo Security?**

What I like most about Menlo Security is how easy it is to manage and how seamless it is for end users. The admin console is simple and intuitive, so rolling out policies, monitoring activity, and making changes is straightforward. It doesn’t require a lot of day-to-day tweaking, which saves our team time and makes managing it much easier overall.

**What do you dislike about Menlo Security?**

There is very little to dislike, but the initial setup and regional routing can require some fine-tuning, especially for organizations outside major regions. This may cause minor website behavior differences during onboarding, though it’s not a major issue.

**What problems is Menlo Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Menlo Security protects our users from web-based threats like malware and phishing without getting in the way of their work. By isolating web activity, it lowers the risk of infections and suspicious downloads while still letting users browse normally. For our team, that means fewer alerts, fewer incidents to chase down, and more time to focus on other security priorities, all without users really noticing it’s there.

 ### 4. Seamless Integration and Effortless Protection

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Micah D. | SR ASSOC-CYBEROPS & ASSURANCE, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 06, 2026

**What do you like best about Menlo Security?**

The solution integrates seamlessly with the end-user environment. Once deployed and fully implemented, it operates transparently with no user-experienced friction, enabling protection with a single click while maintaining normal workflows.

**What do you dislike about Menlo Security?**

In some cases, third-party sites or partners require source IP whitelisting to permit access. Because Menlo Security is cloud-hosted, obtaining a definitive list of originating IP addresses is not feasible. In these scenarios, we typically bypass Menlo for the affected use case.

**What problems is Menlo Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As part of our security program, user education around avoiding links—particularly from unknown or untrusted email senders—remains an ongoing challenge and is not always fully effective. Menlo Security helps close this gap by providing an additional technical control layer. When a user attempts to access a malicious site, the activity is automatically detected and isolated, preventing any malicious code from executing on the local endpoint and blocking malicious downloads altogether.

 ### 5. Great Protection Without Slowing Us Down - Menlo Security

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carll L. | Tech Marketing Officer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 19, 2026

**What do you like best about Menlo Security?**

What I like best about Menlo Security is that it keeps our computers safe when we use the internet. It opens websites in a safe place in the cloud instead of directly on our computer. This means if a website has a virus or something bad, it cannot reach or harm our system.

It also works very fast. When I open websites, they load normally, and I do not feel any delay. Most of the time, I don’t even notice that Menlo Security is protecting me in the background.

Another thing I like is that it helps stop phishing and dangerous links. This makes it easier for our team to work safely without worrying about clicking the wrong website.

Overall, Menlo Security makes browsing the internet safer, easier, and worry-free.

**What do you dislike about Menlo Security?**

One thing I dislike about Menlo Security is that sometimes a few websites do not work perfectly. Some pages may look a little different, or certain buttons may not work the same way as usual. This can be confusing at first.

Also, sometimes files take a bit longer to download because Menlo Security checks them first to make sure they are safe. This is good for security, but it can slow things down a little.

Another small problem is that it can take time to learn how everything works, especially for new users or administrators. There are many settings, and it can be confusing in the beginning.

Even with these small issues, it still does a very good job of keeping computers safe.

**What problems is Menlo Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Menlo Security helps solve the problem of dangerous websites, viruses, and phishing attacks. Sometimes, people may click on a bad link by accident. Without protection, this can harm the computer or steal important information. Menlo Security stops this by opening websites in a safe place in the cloud, so the bad content never reaches our computers.

This benefits us because our computers stay safe even if someone clicks the wrong link. It helps protect important business data, passwords, and customer information.

It also gives peace of mind. Our team can browse the internet, check emails, and do their work without worrying as much about security threats. This helps everyone focus more on their job instead of worrying about getting hacked.

Overall, Menlo Security makes our work safer, reduces risk, and helps prevent security problems before they happen.

I like how Menlo Security stops modern web threats while keeping things simple. It protects against zero-day attacks-threats that exploit unknown or unpatched vulnerabilities. By Isolating web content in the cloud, threats never reach the user's device. This approach delivers strong security without sacrificing user experience or adding complexity.

**What do you dislike about Menlo Security?**

There's a small learning curve at first, especially for new users. With regular use, the platform becomes easier to navigate. Over time, it feels intuitive and fits well into daily operations, menlo logs information is very useful and easy for your daily operation.

**What problems is Menlo Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Menlo Security addresses the risk of web-based attacks by running browsing sessions in isolation, benefiting us through the fewer infections, safer user access, and lower operational risk.

 ### 7. Strong Security Layer, but Needs More Tech Innovation

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Real Estate | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Menlo Security?**

Strong added layer for mature security teams

**What do you dislike about Menlo Security?**

Needs stronger tech innovation over time

**What problems is Menlo Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

**Reviewed by:** John P. | VP, Chief Information Security Officer and Data Protection Officer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 14, 2023

**What do you like best about Menlo Security?**

The functionality of the product fits the business requirement. It is also flexible with other requirements such as fixed egress IP, as well as work from office or work from home scenarios, while providing additional security like web isolation.

**What do you dislike about Menlo Security?**

We initially had a challenge with the sites like google or youtube having foreign language, as the cloud proxy instance used is from the cloud. However, Menlo is responsive enough to add a local egress IP to correct that.

**What problems is Menlo Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

During the pandemic our company was forced to do work from home and we had to disable the proxy setting as we were using on premise proxy. Menlo was able to allow us to have web security as the solution is cloud based, and getting browser isolation is a big plus.

 ### 10. Security That Lets Our Lead Generation Team Move Fast and Stay Protected

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Edward D. | Lead Generation Expert, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Menlo Security?**

As a lead generation professional, I use Menlo Security on a daily basis for research, marketing activities, and prospecting. What I appreciate most about Menlo is how transparent it is—it doesn’t interrupt or slow down my workflow, which is critical in my line of work. At the same time, it gives me strong confidence that my data and browsing activity are well protected. I can do deep research and explore multiple sources without constantly worrying about security risks. Overall, Menlo strikes a great balance between security and usability, which makes it easy to trust and rely on every day.

**What do you dislike about Menlo Security?**

While Menlo Security works well overall, one area that can be challenging is occasional website compatibility and performance issues, especially when doing high-volume research or accessing less common marketing tools and data platforms. Some sites don’t render perfectly or require extra steps to function as expected, which can slow down lead research and prospecting workflows. In rare cases, file downloads or interactive elements can feel less responsive than a native browsing experience. These issues aren’t frequent, but when speed and efficiency matter, even small interruptions can be noticeable.

**What problems is Menlo Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Menlo Security solves the risk of web-based threats and data exposure that come with heavy online research, prospecting, and marketing work. As a marketing and lead generation startup, our team constantly visits new websites, tools, landing pages, and data sources, which naturally increases security risk. Menlo allows us to work freely without blocking or over-restricting access, while still protecting our data and environment. This gives us confidence to move fast, explore aggressively, and stay productive without worrying about malware, phishing, or data leaks slowing us down or compromising our work.

 ### 11. Strong web security without disrupting users.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Banking | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Menlo Security?**

What I like about Menlo Security is that it does its job quietly in the background. It significantly reduces the risk from web-based threats without constantly interrupting users or blocking sites unnecessarily. From an operational standpoint, it's reassuring to know that even if a user clicks on something risky, the threat is isolated and does not reach the endpoint. Deployment and integration with our existing security setup were also straightforward, which made adoption easier.

**What do you dislike about Menlo Security?**

One area could be improved is visibility during troubleshooting. Because Menlo works quietly in the background and handles threats transparently, it sometimes requires a deeper look into logs and policies to fully understand certain access behaviors. While this adds a small learning curve for administrators, it also reflects how thorough and controlled the platform is when it comes to protecting users. Once familiar with the workflow, investigations become more manageable and consistent.

**What problems is Menlo Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Menlo Security addresses the risk of web-based threats that often come from everyday browsing, such as phishing sites, malicious links, and newly created domains that traditional security controls may not immediately catch. Instead of relying purely detections, prevents threats by isolating web content before it reach the user’s device.

 ### 12. Menlo Review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jake B. | EMEA Team Lead, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 23, 2025

**What do you like best about Menlo Security?**

The customer service is excellent, and the user interface is both fantastic and intuitive, making it easy to find and navigate to the items you need.

**What do you dislike about Menlo Security?**

One challenge I often face is the time zone difference when seeking help from the service desk. Frequently, I am connected with someone based in the India time zone, which can be inconvenient. Since I work a standard 9-5 schedule in the GMT time zone, it would be much more efficient to communicate with support staff who are available during the same hours for quicker assistance in times of need as our business needs are not being met.

**What problems is Menlo Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Blocked/parked domains.
The blocking of unwanted traffic into our domain.
Keeping staff and clients more safe when using our networks.

 ### 13. Secure and Seamless User Experience!!

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jovel d. | NOC, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2026

**What do you like best about Menlo Security?**

I value the platform’s usability and its seamless integration within the existing enterprise environment. Menlo was straightforward to deploy and configure at scale. Following an initial analysis of user web traffic, defining and fine-tuning policy exceptions was efficient and well-structured. Menlo effectively mitigates user-initiated web-based threats, complementing gaps left by email security controls. Additionally, their support team is highly responsive and technically proficient.

**What do you dislike about Menlo Security?**

While not a significant operational concern, certain websites that rely on third-party authentication services may occasionally exhibit page load or rendering issues. In most cases, performing a targeted web analysis enables rapid identification and resolution of the underlying cause; however, these intermittent disruptions can still be frustrating for end users.

**What problems is Menlo Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Menlo complements existing cybersecurity solutions by closing critical coverage gaps and functioning as a continuously enforced protection layer. It shields users from unintended interactions with malicious content, including phishing attempts that evade email security controls. As a result, it enhances overall security assurance and provides greater confidence in day-to-day operations.

**What do you like best about Menlo Security?**

I appreciate the ease of use and how well it integrates with the platform. Menlo was easy to configure at the enterprise level. After an initial analysis of user traffic, dialing in the necessary exceptions was straightforward and efficient. Menlo protects my users from themselves—what email security misses, Menlo catches. Their support team is competent and responsive.

**What do you dislike about Menlo Security?**

There are still a few sites that don’t play well with Menlo. The most notable ones are sites that use third-party authentication services, which can sometimes cause pages not to load properly. In most cases, running a web analysis for these sites leads to a quick resolution, but the disruption can still be frustrating for my users.

**What problems is Menlo Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Menlo fills in the gaps that other cyber security providers miss. It acts as an always-on shield, protecting my users from accidental clicks and phishing emails that still make it through my email security gauntlet. Overall, it gives me more peace of mind and helps me rest easier at night.

 ### 15. Strong Threat Protection with Improved User Experience

Menlo Security provides strong browser and email threat protection by isolating web content in the cloud, ensuring threats never reach users' devices and enhancing organizational defenses against cyber threats.

 ### 16. Effortless Security and Seamless Management with Menlo

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 08, 2026

**What do you like best about Menlo Security?**

Based on my experience, I rarely receive complaints from users when using Menlo. It feels like an invisible layer of protection, users can browse normally, but you know it’s doing its job in the background. Security that doesn’t disrupt day-to-day work is a win for both me and the business.

Another thing I really like about Menlo is how straightforward the management interface is. From implementing policies to troubleshooting issues, everything is easy to follow and doesn’t cause confusion or headaches. I don’t find myself spending hours just trying to locate settings or figure out what needs to be done.

**What do you dislike about Menlo Security?**

Not really a big issue for me, but I’ve noticed that users in regions without a nearby Menlo cloud node sometimes end up egressing from far away IPs, which can cause occasional access issues with local sites. Thankfully, Menlo’s support team has been easy to work with and pretty responsive whenever we need help.

**What problems is Menlo Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Menlo is providing seamless scurity to users, this help me by eliminating security issues and providing logs for troubleshootibg purposes.

 ### 17. Strong Browser Security That Just Works Without Impacting Users That's Menlo Security

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Edward D. | Information Security Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 02, 2026

**What do you like best about Menlo Security?**

What I like most about Menlo Security is how easy it is to administer and how transparent it is to the end users. From an admin perspective, the management console is straightforward and intuitive, which makes it easy to roll out policies, monitor activity, and make changes without unnecessary complexity. Day-to-day operations don’t require constant tuning, which saves a lot of time for our security team.

On the user side, Menlo runs quietly in the background. Most employees don’t even notice that their browser traffic is being protected because there’s no noticeable impact on performance or browsing experience. This balance—strong security without disrupting productivity—is what really sets Menlo apart for us.

**What do you dislike about Menlo Security?**

There isn’t much to dislike overall, but if I had to point something out, it would be the initial setup and fine-tuning, especially around regional routing and localization. For organizations outside major regions, some websites may behave slightly differently at first due to cloud egress locations. It’s not a deal-breaker, but it does require some coordination during onboarding.

That said, Menlo’s support team has been responsive and helpful whenever we’ve raised concerns, and once everything is properly configured, the platform runs very smoothly with minimal ongoing issues.

**What problems is Menlo Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Menlo Security addresses the risk of users unknowingly accessing dangerous or malicious websites. No matter how strong user awareness training is, there will always be cases where someone clicks a suspicious link or visits an unsafe site. With Menlo’s browser isolation and cloud-based protection, those threats are contained before they can ever reach the endpoint or our internal network.

The biggest benefit for me as an administrator is the confidence it provides. I have peace of mind knowing that even if users make mistakes while browsing, the organization remains secure. This allows us to focus less on reacting to web-based incidents and more on improving our overall security posture, while users can work freely without feeling restricted.

 ### 35. Top Web Isolation Platform with Exceptional Support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Menlo Security?**

This is a great product and stands out as one of the leading web isolation platforms available today. The technical support has exceeded our expectations, always attentive and responsive to our needs.

User training requirements are minimal, as the web isolation process typically operates in the background without users even noticing.

The platform also offers flexibility in implementation, making it easy to integrate seamlessly with other SWG products.

**What do you dislike about Menlo Security?**

The only issue we've encountered is that the Menlo Security proxy can sometimes slow down internet browsing sessions. I think this is an expected consequence of the product and, in my view, a reasonable tradeoff, though it can cause some frustration for end users.

This isn't exactly a complaint, but it's worth noting that for websites relying on source IP address restrictions, you'll need to take an extra step during implementation with Menlo to ensure whitelisting is handled properly.

**What problems is Menlo Security solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Browser isolation is one of the most effective ways to mitigate attacks on your web sessions. It protects both users and networks by running browsing sessions in a secure, remote environment, which blocks malware, ransomware, and phishing attempts by ensuring that malicious code never reaches local devices. This approach allows for safer access to potentially risky sites, helps prevent credential theft, and provides control over downloads. A feature I particularly appreciate is the ability to rewrite risky files on the fly and deliver a safe copy to the user. For example, a DOCX file can be instantly rewritten to remove any potentially malicious code, ensuring that the user receives a secure version.
