Easy to manage all your reference in one place. Also, it is so good to autofill the details of the source from their database. Microsoft Word integration is quite useful as well. Perfectly creates your bibliography according to your preferred format in a second. If you have a institution subscription, it gives you more space which quite useful but not essential. **What do you dislike about Mendeley?** Sometimes autofill does not give you the correct details of the source. Also, Visual C distribution version compability causes some problems during Microsoft Word integration. **Recommendations to others considering Mendeley:** Free version would be enough for a researcher. Not sure why it's not supporting my work email address on the desktop version app. Not a dislike, but a comment: However, I heard from someone that Mendeley actually can be a bit "sketchy," because when it comes to using references in Mendeley, it won't tell you if the article is legit or not. I am not sure if this is true, so I can't say I dislike this or not. **Recommendations to others considering Mendeley:** Mendeley is a great place (and free) for people who are looking for a easy, clean interface, reference platform - for writing research papers and publications. Should be free especially if you are in an academic institution. Reference style library is very commprehensive. It has a google chrome extension, you can easily turn any webpage to a reference. I was using dual operating systems as macos and windows, mendeley is able to easily sync data to every platform. You don't have to transfer the files, files keep in the mendeley server. **What do you dislike about Mendeley?** Web importer not working properly sometimes.. However, the auto capture add on does not always work, most importantly in downloading the pdf file along with the information. I also find Mendeley's online search library is great as I can easily add references to my library from the online search if someone has included an entry for a particular paper in the past. I appreciate that Mendeley integrates into word fairly seamlessly. I also was able to add a Mendeley importer app on Chrome to more easily add papers I find online. **What do you dislike about Mendeley?** Mendeley can be prone to crashing at times. There are a wide variety of available formats to choose when adding entries manually but these are not always quite right for certain reports and other white papers or slightly less traditional formats. I also find that creating your own unique master formats is not very intuitive and it might be nice to have more support when doing this. **Recommendations to others considering Mendeley:** I generally would recommend asking around about recommendations for citation software and trying more than one. It's also useful to see if your team uses a particular product because then you can integrate your efforts. For example, you can export your library for others to use when using the same software. **What problems is Mendeley solving and how is that benefiting you?** Mendeley allows for more automation when adding scientific sources. As lit reviews are standard when writing scientific manuscripts and grants and the like, this really saves time.
