## Maxima Reviews
  ### 1. Maxima is redefining modern accounting with fast-moving, next-generation tools

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mervyn H. | Senior Accounting Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Maxima?**

Maxima builds accounting tools that are genuinely well thought out and robust. It’s clear they care not just about compliance, but about making sure things actually work as intended in real-world workflows. The UI is clean and intuitive, and it keeps improving—especially refreshing compared to legacy accounting tools that feel stuck in the past.

The team is fantastic to work with—not just friendly, but also incredibly smart and strong critical thinkers. It truly feels like a two-way street: we work closely together to shape and develop the tools, and they actively incorporate feedback into what they build. They also ship constantly, delivering both customer-requested features and proactive solutions they identify on their own. On top of that, their responsiveness is outstanding, with response times typically within the hour.

From a technical standpoint, Maxima’s integration options are extensive and seamless. It’s been easy to plug into our existing workflows and automate processes without friction. So far, we’ve automated full-cycle month-end close cash accounting, commissions accounting, and investments accounting.

They’ve also built powerful features like a close checklist with a strong audit trail (support linking, direct NetSuite journal entry links, comments, dependencies, and metrics tracking), flux analysis (including an AI-based flux tool that’s still evolving but promising) and account reconciliations that are directly tied to NetSuite, with the flexibility to view all transactions and manipulate data using pivots and other tools.

Overall, Maxima feels like a modern accounting platform built by a team that deeply understands accounting and moves quickly and thoughtfully to make their customers more effective.

**What do you dislike about Maxima?**

Because Maxima is still an early-stage company, there can occasionally be some rough edges or minor hiccups as new features are rolled out. That said, the team is very aware of this and moves quickly to address issues—anything we’ve encountered has typically been resolved within the same day. The core functionality of each module is solid and works as intended.

More broadly, working with a young company means things can evolve quickly, whether that’s product direction, prioritization, or documentation lagging slightly behind new releases. However, this comes with the upside of an exceptionally sharp team that listens closely, iterates fast, and partners deeply with customers. In practice, the speed and quality of improvement far outweigh the occasional growing pains.

**What problems is Maxima solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our month-end close involved more manual, time-consuming workflows that were difficult to scale and prone to inefficiencies. Maxima helps us automate these processes end to end, significantly reducing manual effort and continuously accelerating our close timeline.

They don’t just implement the solutions we ask for as they proactively identify gaps in our workflows and build automation we hadn’t yet considered. As a result, we’re able to move faster, reduce operational risk, and spend more time on analysis rather than repetitive accounting tasks. Overall, Maxima has been a key partner in modernizing our close process and making it far more efficient and reliable.

  ### 2. Easy Implementation, Excellent Support, and Big Time Savings with Maxima

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eimear C. | Technical Accounting Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 22, 2026

**What do you like best about Maxima?**

What I like best about Maxima is how easy it was to implement. The onboarding process was straightforward, and the Maxima team provided an excellent level of support throughout — they were responsive, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful whenever questions came up. Since using Maxima, we’ve seen significant time savings in our monthly accounting tasks, which has freed up time to focus on more value-add work. Overall, it’s been a very smooth and efficient experience.

**What do you dislike about Maxima?**

There’s nothing I really dislike about Maxima, but I’m especially excited to see what new and more complex tasks will become available as the platform continues to evolve. As our needs grow, having access to more advanced capabilities will be a big value add. In the meantime, the Maxima team has been very responsive to feedback and quick to make tweaks to customize how things are set up, which makes the experience flexible and easy to adapt to our workflows.

**What problems is Maxima solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Maxima helps solve a lot of the time-consuming manual work that comes with month-end close. Routine tasks that used to take a lot of time are now much more streamlined and quicker to complete, like cash, lease accounting, and PTO accruals. It takes a lot of the repetitive work off our plate and makes the month-end process feel much more manageable.

  ### 3. A True Strategic Partner in Accounting Automation

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alyssa C. | Senior Accountant, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2026

**What do you like best about Maxima?**

The best thing about Maxima is that they are more than a platform; they are a true strategic partner. Together, we've built out many core functions such as Cash Module, Checklist, Flux AI, and Account Reconciliations. We rely on these daily, and while the ease of use has fundamentally improved our workflow, it’s the added layer of visibility that sets them apart. Unlike standard tools, Maxima's checklist captures complex dependencies across the entire month-end close. This visibility prevents blockers and ensures a seamless workflow, giving us a level of oversight we didn’t have before.

What truly sets them apart is their proactive engineering team and support. It’s never just us making the requests; it’s a reciprocal partnership where they are constantly suggesting ways to optimize our processes such as presenting their AI Agent to automate our journal entries before we even asked. From the initial buildout of our tools to go-live, their communication has been quick, transparent, and solution-oriented. They consistently deliver high quality work that it has earned my total confidence, allowing us to automate ad-hoc reconciliation and journal entries with ease. If you want a team that cares as much about your processes as you do, Maxima is who you're looking for!

**What do you dislike about Maxima?**

The platform is still evolving, so a few specific customizations weren't available yet. However, this was never a roadblock. The team was incredibly proactive in proposing alternative solutions and handling the heavy lifting on the backend. We achieved the same automation and results without our team having to lift a finger.

**What problems is Maxima solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workflow automations that allow us to work towards reducing our close timeline. The platform is also reducing our workload so that we can prioritize our time on more critical areas.

  ### 4. Transformative Close Automation with Exceptional Innovation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kenny T. | Business Transformation, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Maxima?**

Maxima has been transformational for our close process. The platform has materially reduced the number of days it takes us to close, while maintaining an extremely high level of accuracy across a wide range of close workflows that many other vendors simply don’t support.

Beyond the core capabilities like Close Checklist, Flux AI, and Cash Reconciliation, Maxima has enabled us to automate and operationalize more complex workflows such as commissions amortization posting, payroll journal entries, and cash tagging for reporting. Every workflow we’ve implemented has been a significant improvement over our prior processes—there hasn’t been a single regression.

What truly sets Maxima apart is the team behind the product. The engineering team is best-in-class and consistently delivers thoughtful, high-quality innovation. We’re especially excited about the future of Accounting AI automation with Maxima, including agentic workflows that can autonomously run portions of the close. Our long-term vision is to consolidate all of our accounting workflows into Maxima and use it as an intelligent AI layer on top of NetSuite—and Maxima is clearly building toward that future.

**What do you dislike about Maxima?**

If anything, the only “challenge” is that the Maxima team moves incredibly fast and delivers with a very high bar for quality—sometimes faster than our own internal ability to review and sign off. It’s a great problem to have.

**What problems is Maxima solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Maxima is solving several critical accounting challenges for us, with clear and measurable benefits:

Significantly reducing the number of close days

Automating manual accounting work and eliminating repetitive, error-prone processes

Streamlining cash reconciliation across JPM, NetSuite, and Coupa

Enabling structured cash tagging for improved reporting and visibility

Providing a reliable close checklist and Flux AI for variance analysis

Automating commissions amortization and payroll journal entries

Laying the foundation for agentic workflows that further expand automation and scalability

The result is a faster, more accurate close, reduced operational burden on the accounting team, and a platform that continues to scale with us as our complexity grows.

  ### 5. Finance-Savvy, Responsive Team That Gets Our Needs Fast

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Maxima?**

The team has strong technical knowledge, especially in the finance and accounting area. This makes it easy for them to understand what I’m asking for, so I spend much less time explaining the why and how behind the specific data analysis and reconciliations we need. They’re also very responsive, which helps keep things moving.

**What do you dislike about Maxima?**

Need more guidance on the rules and adjustments; to be able to make adjustments on my end. Could also be a timing issue i.e something to refine as we finish up the reconciliations.

**What problems is Maxima solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reconciling revenue transactions from various revenue platforms (with limited reporting capabilities) and the subsequent production of journal entries to sync with Netsuite. This will greatly improve the accuracy in revenue recognition as well as reduce the time spent on reconciliations.

  ### 6. Exceptional Customization and Outstanding Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 17, 2025

**What do you like best about Maxima?**

Maxima meets us where our business is and can easily customize to our data sources and ways of doing accounting. The team is fantastic and has worked incredibly hard to ensure our success using their platform.

**What do you dislike about Maxima?**

Tough to identify but -- a few of the modules are newer and therefore a little rough around the edges in some edge cases. Which we (with the help of Maxima) have turned into positives as we are able to even further customize, which they have been very helpful with.

**What problems is Maxima solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Maxima is helping us to automate accounting / bookkeeping while calling out non-routine transactions. All while allowing us to stay compliant with our close checklist, reconciliations and flux analysis, all in the same platform.

  ### 7. Helps Me Close the Books Faster

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christine Y. | Head of Technical and Revenue Accounting, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Maxima?**

Helps me close the books faster. The interface is also very intuitive and easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Maxima?**

Can’t think of anything. Maxima is great!

**What problems is Maxima solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Closing the book faster. I use it for commissions amortization. Once I calculate my commissions, I put it into Maxima so that it can waterfall out so that each subsequent month I can close the books a lot faster.

  ### 8. Agentic accounting product that does the work

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 24, 2025

**What do you like best about Maxima?**

We are a company with billions in revenue, 20+ entities, 10+ currencies, big 4 auditors, very strict internal audit and internal controls. In our accounting processes, there are so many manual repeat journal entries, reconciliations, matching, variance analysis and manual steps, that require exact same steps every month: grab financial data from source system, slice and reformat data, post entries and explain them in plain English accurately. Maxima's AI handles all of these perfectly.

Unlike checklists out there which just keeps tabs on the work we manually do, maxima's AI actually does the work. Maxima Agents drive full accuracy, work is auditable, its AI finds anomalies before auditors arrive.

While Maxima is a new company, their technology is well ahead of legacy and is improving very fast. They work with us to launch new features. Team is small but support is excellent. The user experience feels more like apple than oracle.

**What do you dislike about Maxima?**

Given its a new company, we were a bit hesitant but their references were strong.. and we are glad we went with them than other clunky public companies in this do space or checklists.
Maxima does not handle all our use cases today but we are working with them to give more and more.
Given, it's a new AI technology, we spent a few hours getting familiar with the tool.

**What problems is Maxima solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automating repeat manual work in accounting with full accuracy and auditability

  ### 9. Accounting efficiency

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tingting F. | Accountant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 11, 2025

**What do you like best about Maxima?**

Maxima has been an amazing partner to work with. They’ve taken much of the stress out of month-end close by automating many of our journal entries, such as payroll and banking, greatly improving efficiency. Their team is quick to respond, highly knowledgeable, and genuinely committed to solving issues, making our close process far smoother and more effective. The Maxima engineers have also been especially attentive and supportive, ensuring the platform continues to evolve with our needs.

**What do you dislike about Maxima?**

We occasionally need additional customization to fit our unique workflows, but the Maxima team has always been quick to understand our needs and provide solutions. Their responsiveness and willingness to adapt the platform have made those situations easy to navigate.

**What problems is Maxima solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Maxima is helping us tackle time consuming, manual month-end tasks like flux analysis, payroll journal entries, and cash reconciliations. Automating these workflows takes a lot of stress out of the close process, saves our team valuable time, and reduces errors.

  ### 10. Maxima Supercharges Productivity with Seamless Automation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Maxima?**

Maxima increases productivity in our team by maximizing efficiency and reducing careless errors through JE automation.

**What do you dislike about Maxima?**

Maxima has been extremely helpful and responsive about any issues that we encounter. We sometimes (rarely) encounter UI issues, but Maxima is able to give us quick turnarounds, even past working hours!!

**What problems is Maxima solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reducing errors and efficiency - Maxima is able to maintain consistency throughout automating JEs, which reduces errors such as typos. Because of this, I am able to save a lot of time from reviewing and correcting JEs.

  ### 11. Maxima Automates Accounting with Agentic Journal Entries and Reconciliation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jason L. | Controller, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Maxima?**

I have followed other ERP/month end close tools and Maxima’s concept and infrastructure they have built can best automate accounting tasks. It is not just a month end close checklist, AI flux tool but is an agentic journal entries and reconciliation tool.

**What do you dislike about Maxima?**

It is a new tool thus it took us some time to vet it.

**What problems is Maxima solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Repetitive accounting tasks like bank upload, revenue reconciliations, any other
Month end close JE.

  ### 12. Outstanding Experience with This Software

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Real Estate | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 22, 2025

**What do you like best about Maxima?**

Maxima is an excellent accounting management software that is on par and exceeds it's peers in capabilities. It excels at having a better interface, better automation possibilities, lightning fast development, and incredible customer support. They are new but disruptive.

**What do you dislike about Maxima?**

Being a new company we had to go through a long vetting process that they ultimately passed, but is a risk with any newer company.

**What problems is Maxima solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Maxima is making our accounting close, bank reconciliations, and flux analysis digital allowing us to hold more people accountable for tasks in a bigger net, and with a higher level of accuracy. It additionally is allowing us to build out automations to save hours of time each month on many tasks.
