What do you like best about Mattermost?

Mattermost gets the job done for private messaging platform. It is fast and reliable and rarely needs any maintenance. Our users really like it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The user interface looks a little too basic and could have a more modern look. Also, would be killer to have tabs for each channel open. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

its fun as well as great product to use for collaboration. Now a days we can use /gif which is also give a more fun way of expression in the tensed IT world. We can store and review old conversation for review is best. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Mattermost?

Mattermost allows me to have multiple live chats with remote employees at one time.

It is also capable of having group chats with all employees and separate group chats with teams. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mattermost?

File sharing and document center could be better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Mattermost:

Great program for fast and easy communications.

Not so great for file sharing.

Allows multiple chats. Individual messages and you can also post notes to the top of each chat.

These are great for notices that you need to be seen as a priority for all the groups.

Messages do not get deleted when you close it like most mass message apps.

Live resolution to customer issues.

What do you like best about Mattermost?

First and foremost, it works well on MAC unlike many Office products. It works well for group conversations or individual ones as well. It's always fun to be able to reply in GIFs as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mattermost?

The alerts on the phone app do not work well. I only get half of the new message alerts. The GIFs could be better as well but the selection there is nice. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Mattermost?

Ability to install community edition on Aurora serverless db in AWS, building a fully redundant system behind an ELB and 2 small web servers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mattermost?

It's not an exact Slack replacement. There are not the same number of hookins and same syntax during chat. Get over it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Mattermost solving and how is that benefiting you?

We need to remain compliant to SOC2 Type II and ISO27001 as well as customer specific requirements in data handling. Because you cannot realistically expect users to never put such data into chats, it's best to maintain control of the data. Mattermost allows you to do with community, E10, or E20, and the upgrade process is easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
