**What do you like best about Matter?**

My colleagues and I were just talking about how easy Matter has been to add to our workflows. The tools have really helped us to streamline our recognitions of colleagues and management. The other aspect that has really elevated things for me is the connections we are making on feedback Fridays. I love the rewards and the coins that reset.

**What do you dislike about Matter?**

We started working with Matter a little over a month now. I don't have anything to add at this time.

**What problems is Matter solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Improved connections with colleagues, management, and staff in other departments. It has been a great tool to improve moral for sure. It saves time and makes giving recognition much easier, which I have found has increased the communication and positivity.

What I like most is that Matter helps highlight customer wins across teams more frequently. When someone turns a tough interaction into a great outcome, it’s easy to send a kudos of thanks. It’s nice to see those moments shared, not buried in reports.

Easy templates and quick kudos messages that are thoughtful has been a game changer for me. Matter doesn’t distract or take more time out of my day. It’s quick, helpful, and I have seen team moral really improve.

**What do you like best about Matter?**

Matter makes it incredibly easy to recognize and appreciate teammates. I love the coin system — it’s a fun and meaningful way to thank colleagues for their hard work. The integration with Slack is seamless; it only takes a few clicks to send kudos, which makes it feel natural to use regularly. Overall, the user experience is clean and intuitive.

**What do you dislike about Matter?**

One improvement I'd love to see is a filter or tracker for kudos sent each week. Since there's a limited number of coins, it can be hard to remember who I’ve already recognized. Currently, I have to scroll back through the week’s messages to double-check, which can be a bit time-consuming. A simple filter to view my kudos history would make the platform even more user-friendly.

Matter helps me regularly kudos my teammates and show appreciation, which might otherwise get lost in the day-to-day. It’s a lightweight yet impactful way to celebrate each other's efforts and contributions.

**What do you like best about Matter?**

1. Easy to use - We have a special channel in slack called #kudos, and every Friday, we bang out quick kudos to the team on whatever we have delivered.
2. Feedback friday reminder is actually quite helpful. There are a couple of kudos every friday so used quite a bit.
3. Super easy to setup and integrate in Slack, and no cost as well. We have not looked back or faced any issues since we set it up the first 3 years ago.
4. The gifs are amazing.

**What do you dislike about Matter?**

1. I don't think we ever grasped the concept and point of coins. I think education for that, and translating into actual rewards is not something that's clearly communicated. Also, the rewards feel US centric. Our team is across multiple continents.
2. Never really gotten to see the analytics, and whenever I have seen it, they seem surface level.
3. Would be nice if the rewards were somehow integrated in the experience.

**What problems is Matter solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1. Recognition gets lost in busy channels. We should celebrate all our wins, no matter how small, to keep the morale up.
2. People generally forget to give feedback or say thanks, especially if they are just working alongside rather than a top-down relationship.
3. Sometimes, public recognition is also important to give everyone and leadership a view in what some employee is doing and achieving. Some folks just don't have the ability to showcase their work and impact and might need some help.

**What do you like best about Matter?**

We've been using MatterApp as part of our internal team engagement and recognition strategy, and it's proven to be a simple yet powerful tool to promote a culture of appreciation and continuous feedback.

The integration with Slack is seamless and intuitive — team members can give kudos or constructive feedback in real time without disrupting their workflow. The use of badges and emojis adds a fun, gamified layer that encourages even the quieter team members to participate actively.

Its Ease of implementation, and good customer support.

**What do you dislike about Matter?**

Occasionally, the notifications can be a bit overwhelming in larger teams — a better customization of frequency would enhance the experience.

A mobile-first UX would make this even more accessible for teams working on the go.

**What problems is Matter solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Matter is solving three core challenges for us:

Lack of consistent peer recognition
Before Matter, recognition was informal and sporadic. With its Slack integration, peer-to-peer appreciation is now embedded into our daily workflow, making recognition timely, visible, and more meaningful.

Low visibility into team contributions
Especially in cross-functional or remote teams, it’s easy for contributions to go unnoticed. Matter helps surface efforts that don’t always make it into performance reviews, improving morale and giving managers a more holistic view of team dynamics.

Gaps in feedback culture
Matter fosters a culture of continuous, lightweight feedback, helping individuals grow without waiting for quarterly reviews. This supports personal development and promotes psychological safety in the workplace.

One downside is that the reporting features could be more robust. While it gives some visibility into feedback trends, I would like to see more advanced analytics and data export options for better tracking and performance evaluation. I like the concept of sending kudos to co-workers as a recognition of their extraordinary achievements. It creates a stronger bond between me and my co-workers and fosters my workplace relationships.

Nothing I can think of at this moment. But I'd say it would be even more ideal to see more retailers in Canada available for gift card redemption.

**What problems is Matter solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I work in an agency which allows employees to go fully remote, so for some of the co-workers that I am not working closely with, I only see them once to twice a year. I sometimes feel distant to most of the people in the company as my role doesn't require me to work with many teams. However, with Matter, I am given the opportunity to get in touch with co-workers that I am not close with by sending kudos to express my appreciation on their work, or celebrate their work anniversary or birthday. It helps me rebuild the connection with co-workers that we used to have when working on-site.

The customizable Feedback Friday reminders are a brilliant touch — they make recognition a habit rather than a chore. Also, the automatic reward delivery system (gift cards, donations, etc.) saves so much time and adds real value to employee shoutouts. It’s perfect for building culture in a remote or hybrid team.

The analytics dashboard could be a bit more detailed, especially when trying to track long-term engagement trends or value alignment. Also, while the customization options are solid, I’d love even more flexibility around branding and survey logic.

**What do you like best about Matter?**

The matter bot really set the tone for my organization. The hype gifs that it would send every feedback Tuesday encouraged my team to appreciate one another. I also saw first hand how excited it made some team members feel when then won "Member of the Week"

The Kudos system worked wonders because the team can deliver a special public message to anyone they choose. The team member will then be shouted out with a cute graphic and big display with their name! I personally used it to shout out team members that actively engaged in team meetings and company discussions and after a little while to my surprise, everyone started participating more, even the people that normally keep their ideas to themselves! 

The cherry on top is that you get these coins where you can convert them into real money and it's not like other programs where 600 coins is only $6. 600 coins is $60 and it's really easy to get 600 coins!! It's unbelievable! I took the initiative to reward my team with that money and in turn, they were more productive and satisfied!

**What do you dislike about Matter?**

The only thing I wish it would do better is to have more customization. You can make new kudos templates, but it's very limited. My custom kudos designs weren't able to be as dynamic as the ones that came with the bot. This is something very minor though as the ones that already come with it are sufficient

**What problems is Matter solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's helping me solve the problem of Employee engagement, some people would not participate no matter how much I tried to get them to open up, but with the Kudos system in place, even those team members on the shy side would use the Kudos feature to hype up their team members. Some of them even transferred that to congratulating their colleagues face to face

I think my favorite part is the birthday notifications -- I don't know most people's birthdays within the company, and it's fun to tell them happy birthday!

The way it is integrated into Teams doesn't often make me feel motivated to leave feedback for others. I get the notifications, but if I'm working on something else I just ignore them and forget.

The results I’ve had using Matter is incredible. Their tools have probably 10x the amount of recognition that I give in a day with their helpful templates. Reward options are incredible and the surveys are very helpful.

It's really nice to be able to share some positivity among the team members.  I didn't realize that the coins were actually able to be turned in to real stuff, and it made me want to share more often.

**What do you dislike about Matter?**

You are limited to providing coins in certain situations.  And if you are off on the time of day to submit, then it falls into the next week, and you have lost the current weeks coins that can be sent.

**What problems is Matter solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows us to provide feedback and share appreciation to our team, positive and negative.  when someone is having a bad day, sending them a pick-me-up seems to help brighten them up.  Also, it allows for sublte corrections and/or reminders without calling out someone in the whole group.

Matter makes it easy to send kudos to your colleagues, with a little extra through the coin system. It's a nice way to gift a small token of appreciation which can then be spent on real gift cards. Work anniversaries and birthdays are also nice to be noticed through here, and finally it's a good way to hand out prizes for company events through this system as well.

**What do you dislike about Matter?**

It can get a bit repetitive or challenging to keep a consistent pace with giving kudos. It can feel forced at times especially since the tokens that you can give out get reset on a weekly basis, causing a use it or lose it mentality.

In a fully remote work environment, Matter is a nice way to keep people engaged, reminding us of our team behind the screen.
