My favourite part of the matter app is earning kudos points/kudos notes! It gives us a great opportunity to connect with our collegues and helps build positive relationships! It's much appreciated :)

It is nice to acknowledge everyone, but we always did that before Matter.

People who have been her for shorter periods of time that I have are getting anniversary kudos. Too bad there isn't a way to acknowledge people who have been her much longer.

It has taken some of the responsibility away from other office staff to keep up with birthdays, etc.

Matter creates a consistent schedule in which everyone is encouraged to recognized fellow employees. It's easy and enjoyable to use.

As far as using it, no major issues. I think more customization would be nice, for instance being able to turn it off on Fridays that are holidays.

What I appreciate about Matter is that it creates a dedicated space and provides reminders to give feedback and kudos to teammates. Feedback is crucial for performance, yet it's often only given during really good or really bad times. I like that Matter prompts me to do it regularly, even on weeks when I have to dig deep to offer meaningful feedback. The gamified aspect is fun, and the idea of earning points to cash in is a great concept

**What do you dislike about Matter?**

What I initially disliked about Matter has become an opportunity for growth. There were weeks when I felt, 'Ugh, I have to do this, but I have nothing to say—it feels so phony.' However, this process has helped me develop a habit of giving meaningful feedback and kudos. It’s pushed me to dig deep and provide thoughtful insights.

I do get frustrated when my teammates don’t approach it the same way, especially when reactions, rather than the content itself, seem to drive the value in the system. For example, a co-worker might say something surface-level or funny, and it gets a lot of likes, which then gets flagged as valuable feedback. Another thing that discourages me is the coin conversion—it feels like it will take forever to cash in on any rewards.

Matter makes colleague recognition easy and fun, which keeps it top of mind and encourages team members to share shout outs and celebrations. The reminders and 'Feedback Fridays' nudge definitely helps me to remember to pause, think of the good things that have happened among our team in the last couple of days, and to take a moment to recognize others. I've really enjoyed it so far!

Occasional glitches with the Teams plug in have left some perceived downtimes, though it's not been a frequent issue.

On my team, it seems that Matter has injected new enthusiasm into our process for recognizing our team members.
