**What do you like best about Matter?**

Matter has been so helpful when it comes to sending thoughtful messages to my colleagues. They have templates for everything you need and all you have to do is choose the template and recipient, add your message, and send! So much easier and time efficient than what I was doing previously. They are also super supportive when you have a question.   They have diverse rewards also, which is a huge bonus in my opinion.

**What do you dislike about Matter?**

Best tools and support I’ve found with employee recognition platforms I’ve used and I haven’t run into any complications so far.

**What problems is Matter solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Completely transformed my day to day communications in a positive way! I’m more inclined to send a thank you to a teammate now with all of the  helpful tools and resources.

**What do you like best about Matter?**

The surveys in Matter give insight that numbers alone can’t. It helps connect performance data with how people actually feel. The kudos cards are easy to send and the rewards options are very helpful. Great way for me to recognize my colleagues!

**What do you dislike about Matter?**

Thoughtful, easy to use, and perfectly aligns with my day-to-day tasks. I don’t have anything negative to share at this point.

**What problems is Matter solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The insights from recognition and surveys together have helped us understand morale in a new way. It is easier to spot trends early and see where teams are thriving. Moral and motivation seems to be at an all time high. The tools are very helpful and beneficial for growth in the office.

**What do you like best about Matter?**

What I like best about Matter is how effortless and authentic recognition feels. It’s simple enough that people actually use it, but thoughtful enough that recognition feels meaningful rather than performative. The Slack/Teams integration keeps appreciation in the natural flow of work, which drives consistent participation, and the value-based prompts subtly reinforce the behaviours you want more of. It strikes a rare balance between great UX, genuine culture impact, and minimal admin overhead.

**What do you dislike about Matter?**

Honestly, there’s very little to dislike. If anything, some teams may want deeper customization, but Matter is clearly evolving in that direction and already delivers far more value than the effort required to maintain it. Any gaps feel minor compared to the overall impact and ease of use.

**What problems is Matter solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Matter is solving a culture and recognition problem that most “engagement” programs struggle with: making appreciation easy, visible, and habitual. Instead of recognition being an annual survey or a manager-only task, Matter embeds it into everyday interactions with simple, integrated tools (especially via Slack/Teams).

Because of that:

Recognition happens consistently, not sporadically — which strengthens morale and reinforces the behaviours we value most.

Visibility into appreciation trends helps leadership understand where culture is thriving and where support may be needed.

Team connection improves, particularly in hybrid/remote settings where informal peer recognition can otherwise be weak.

Overall this leads to a more positive, connected, and values-aligned culture without adding administrative burden for HR or team leads.

**What do you like best about Matter?**

Peer to peer recognition, giving small financial perks associated with positive feedback for team members, easy to use and have team participate, easy to administer and manage.

**What do you dislike about Matter?**

Not a dislike, but we  have store fronts for promotional items. I would love to add them directly as gift cards. We have a work around where team members can select a generic gift certificate but we have to buy it on the back end and give to team member. Other tjan that enhancement I don’t really have any dislikes.

Making it easy to provide a mechanism for small, , frequent, tangible recognition available to everyone on the team
Integrated with teams making it easy to use.
Engaging team members to recognize their peers-fostering a positive work environment. 
Making positive reinforcement easy and simple for everyone in our company to do.  
 Budget is built into the process adding to its ease of use and implementation.

Matter has made giving and receiving feedback feel natural and engaging. It’s intuitive, integrates seamlessly with Slack, and truly helps build a culture of recognition and growth. Since we started using it, team morale and communication have noticeably improved and everyone on the team participates almost every week. Highly recommend for any team looking to foster stronger collaboration and appreciation!

While Matter offers a highly intuitive and impactful approach for encouraging recognition, the monthly cap on coin allotment per user—and specifically the cap you can give to an individual—can feel overly restrictive

**What problems is Matter solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Matter has been a game-changer for our team culture. It’s helped solve so many issues we didn’t even realize were holding us back—like the lack of consistent recognition, limited peer feedback, and feeling disconnected in a remote environment. Since we started using Matter, I’ve felt more seen and appreciated for my work, not just by my manager, but by my peers too.

It’s also made it easier for me to recognize the great work others are doing, which has strengthened our team dynamic. They are personal and a lot of fun to give and receive. Feedback Fridays pull the whole company in with weekly healthy competition and recognition. This has really helped us to bridge gaps that we had. Very helpful!

Working in management, it is always important to connect with staff and share thoughts about what they are doing well. Recognition in the workplace is key to better productivity and Matter streamlines everything with their templates and tools that makes connecting easier. They have a great selection of rewards too. 10/10 for me!

As a newer user to the platform, I haven’t found anything that I dislike at the time. The tools are easy and very helpful.

Recognizing employees and connecting with staff better.  Matter is so much better than sending emails thanking staff for their work. Their tools have made a real impact in performance and productivity.

What I like most is that Matter connects everyone, even when we are working on different projects. Our team is spread across multiple locations, and Matter has been the easiest way to keep recognition flowing. The kudos templates give me a quick structure I can personalize, which makes it less intimidating to write something meaningful. I have not come across anything I dislike yet. The platform feels very smooth.

As Chair over the Women's Health ERG, Matter has allowed me to reward members for their contributions to the group, and that has helped so much with active engagement. I enjoy letting team members know when that their efforts are appreciated, and I'm big on providing consistent encouragement for my team, too. So overall Matter has allowed me to make sure members feel rewarded for taking part, and that has made a huge difference.

Sometimes I feel like members in the organization who aren't as well known receive less recognition through this system. I see lots of the same people getting rewarded, but I wonder if there's something my company could do to make it more fair. Matter’s tools for employee recognition are the perfect fit for our company. It was really easy to use and get started. The customer support team even did a live team training for our company and answered our questions. The analytics and reports are very helpful in pinpointing areas of need. The surveys option is very handy as well. All in all, I have found that the services are very well rounded and improved performance and motivation within the company. There are many options for rewards as well that has really streamlined incentives and thank you gift giving.

I wish our company gave us more coins to redeem for rewards. They only allow managers coins to give away, but that's more on us, rather than Matter. I do know they can allow everyone to give away coins!

We set up even automated celebrations for birthdays but also track engagement with analytics. is great.

one thing I'd like to see improved is the customization of reward options - especially for global teams. the current catalog feels a bit limited in some regions. also, setting up certain automation could be more intuitive at first because it takes a bit of time to understand all the available features.
