I have been using maradb for over 5 years it hosts various websites and mail servers that I run. I really like how reliable it is. It is also very easy to use. The best thing we talk about MariaDb is it has many several optimization techniques that tend to improve the performance, as it has better query performance.

It allows the parallel execution of commands resulting in multi processing and fast execution of the program.
