  ### 18. Effortless Automation and Intuitive Interface Save Hours

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 20, 2025

**What do you like best about ManageEngine Network Configuration Manager?**

1. Automation of configuration backups
The system itself removes device configurations on a schedule — you no longer need to manually log in to each switch or router. It really saves hours of work.

2. Easy operation and user-friendly web interface
The interface is not overloaded, it is easy enough to understand even without deep experience in ManageEngine. Most of the functions are intuitive.

3. Mass modification (Config Push)
You can deploy the same configuration block to dozens of devices at once — ideal for mass updating of banners, passwords, ACLs, NTP, etc.

**What do you dislike about ManageEngine Network Configuration Manager?**

Limited parsing and template capabilities

Automatic configuration parsing does not always work correctly with:

non-standard configs,

by specific vendors,

complex ACLs or firewall policies.
Sometimes you need to manually add templates.

**What problems is ManageEngine Network Configuration Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1. Loss and non-relevance of configurations

Without a centralized tool, configurations are often stored:

on the admins' local PCs,

in disparate text files,

in different formats.

NCM solves it:
It automatically makes backups of all devices, stores the version history, and allows you to quickly make rollbacks.

2. Uncontrolled changes on network devices

Admins or contractors can change the settings on the equipment without notice.
The result is a misunderstanding of who made the change and what led to the failure.

  ### 19. Reliable Node Backups and Script Automation for Fast Multi-Device Deployment

**Reviewed Date:** May 30, 2024

**What do you like best about ManageEngine Network Configuration Manager?**

ME Network Configuration Manager is a great software when it comes to backup network devices' configs automatically. With this ability, the technicians can easily compare the backups and identify the changed, deleted or added lines. Additionally, this software is very uselful for bulk config deployments which saves great time. It can also keep the devices inside the company policy with the help of "compliance".

**What do you dislike about ManageEngine Network Configuration Manager?**

Even if there are many ready-to-use device and config templates on the product, it should be extended and enriched because many brands come out on the market and configuring their templates manually doesn't add much value to the product. Additionally, the supported device list for vulnerability management can be extended to support more varity of brands.

**What problems is ManageEngine Network Configuration Manager solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The Network Configuration Manager is especially useful for automating backing up the network devices' configs. This ability prepares companies for disaster scenarios because it can also behave as TFTP and SCP server to restore the backups. Additionally, the technicians can understand who did changes on which devices with time data along with the actions on the end device. It can show the config differences between devices with the help of versioning system. Additionally, the bulk config deployments eases the management of these devices without making ssh sessions for each of them. And finally, the "compliance" ability is a great tool for companies which look for standardization in their network environment. This ability can periodically check the config lines in the devices and inform (or even remediate) technicians for non-compliant ones.
