What do you like best about Microsoft Azure?

Microsoft Azure is a simple and easy-to-manage cloud platform. We can easily create VMs, and file servers, Perform Backups, Manage Disaster Recovery sites, configure Virtual firewalls and many more. Azure is a safe and secure venue to host infrastructure on the cloud. It acts the same as an on-prem data center, and we have to pay for what we used. It is suitable for small as well as large organizations. Also, Microsoft's support service is excellent. If we have any issues related to billing, configuration or anything, they are ready to help. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft Azure?

Microsft is always best at providing new technologies, services and support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Microsoft Azure solving and how is that benefiting you?

Building a new data center is a big challenge regarding space, cost, and workforce. In Azure, we just have to create a tenant and develop our infrastructure as per the requirements. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Azure offers more than 600 services and also provides solutions with issues; we have migrated many workloads on-premise to the cloud, this has benefited for us in cost-cutting Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Microsoft Azure?

leveraging Microsoft Azure for building a cloud data platform for a banking client which includes PaaS and IaaS services. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft Azure?

Most of the PaaS components are still not stable. Componets where private enpoints are enabled still requires internet connectivity (e.g Databricks and Machine Learning) . Encryption Key from key vault of once subscription cannot be integrated with a component in another subscription (e.g Machine Learning) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Microsoft Azure?

Microsoft has the best user-friendly console there is. It has a very easily deployment procedure and almost all services can be easily understood by the document provided by Microsoft. The recovery HSR and ASR and very good services when you are dealing with SAP workloads. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft Azure?

The thing that I dislike about Microsoft is when deploying 3rd party applications if you want to deploy VM using a VHD file it's way too hard and Microsoft does not provide adequate support on those VM.

Also is some cases you cannot recover VM from Snapshot in case of third-party VHD files even if you have moved the disk from managed to unmanaged Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Azure:

Review documents provided by Microsoft in case you have doubts about the services. Always looks for an advisor for VM inputs, Lookout for planned activity from Microsoft so that you don't suffer any work disruption. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Microsoft Azure solving and how is that benefiting you?

The main problem that azure is solving is cost reduction in comparison to on-prem infrastructure. The machines are scalable instantly and have the fastest customer support in my point of view.

They also have features like an advisor which can monitor and tell us if our VM is underutilized or overutilized so we can manage our workloads accordingly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

convenient billing structure, including management groups and subscriptions, which provide very detailed explanations on an hourly or daily basis of what Azure services have been charged and how much you have been charged, which makes invoicing within the organization a walk in the park. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft Azure?

The mandatory, modern authentication controls, such as conditional policy and Multi-factor authentication, can sometimes feel complicated to the end users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Microsoft Azure solving and how is that benefiting you?

Cloud-based Identity and Access Management solution called Azure active directory is the next best thing to provide authentication and authorization for all objects (Service Principles and devices). In addition, the ability to extend arm the on-prem Active Directory makes your life a lot easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Microsoft Azure?

1. One of the key points (some people might not agree) is how Azure allows us to distribute objects. We can create n number of resource groups and differentiate them based on the role/purpose of objects.

2. Insights provided for each service are pretty detailed

3. Cost of services, VMs, etc. are better compared to competitors

4. Vast knowledge bank Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft Azure?

1. Again this is based on my experience - sometimes the support that is assigned to the ticket is not upto the mark. The escalation engineer does not possess the skillset to troubleshoot the issue.

2. Key drawback - we can't scale up the disk without detaching. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Microsoft Azure solving and how is that benefiting you?

Well, here I would like to talk bout Azure Kubernetes Services (AKS). No more headaches of a self-managed cluster. With a click, we get all servers and everything ready.

As master nodes are managed internally by Azure, we need to just manage worker/user pools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
