First and foremost there service doesn't work. The records they gave me to host with them has never worked and I would've been left if I couldn't get my money back from a lifetime deal I bought a year ago with them.

Next up, they have the worst customer service ever! Asking for the same thing for over a year to get simple DNS settings and they continue to return responses that have nothing to do with what I want.

Next up, I'm going to assume there's a language barrier here because the person who responds always responses in broken english and acts like he doesn't understand what's being requested. It's DNS settings not very hard to provide!

Last but not least, the owner or whoever is in charge hasn't stepped in this entire time nor has anyone stepped in to figure out why is the same question being asked a million times and this hasn't been provided. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

MakersHost is an affordable web hosting service that offers a number of features not generally found in other providers. For example, you'll get a global CDN and SSD storage, as well as a built-in optimization suite to help your site load quickly and work efficiently. What I dislike: (1) The control panel is slow; (2) The lack of a proper agency panel (I need to create my clients' accounts myself); (3) No automatic backup solution (currently backup solution is the manual backup tool). As many others, I've grabbed the deal at AppSumo and I don't regret doing so. The first thing I did, before migrating or creating any new site, was to create a test site and have been doing some testing on it, with great results and good feelings so far:

- Network response times are good.

- Server seems always quick and responsive.

- For the ones used to cPanel, well, it's not cPanel, but you will get used really quick. You may miss something from cPanel (I didn't miss anything I need to be honest), but there's also some nice additions.

- The included CDN and optimization features, even if you can get better results with other solutions and some knowledge, they work really well and should be more than enough for lots of sites/people grabbing this deal, and will be probably not worth the additional time spent and/or costs for most of the projects you will be hosting on that kind of shared hosting. So, all in all, let's say that performance and usability wise, I'm really happy, it's nice for a shared hosting, what I don't like:

- In this AppSumo deal, unless you are stacking 5+ codes and get "everything unlimited", the mailboxes can be REALLY short. Having "on average" 1 mailbox per domain I think is really low in most cases, more mailboxes should be needed, I know I'll need more per domain usually, I'd would prefer to have more mailboxes even if they have less storage for each of them or something like that, I don't know what the solution has to be, but I think that having more mailboxes is kind of a must.

- I didn't need to use the support yet, but in some cases (i.e. the server or the connection are 100% down), the SLA 24h maybe too much, I hope that if it's not done already, pretty soon, the tickets are reviewed fast, and then they are scaled according to the severity of the problem or the question asked. I had been doing a lot of searching to look for a lifetime hosting, and finally i had found MakersHost with this great Lifetime Deal which comes with these powerful specifications and great affordable price. I would say MakersHost had offered the best generous deal at this lower price as compared to other hosting. Very impressed by the speed and power of the server. Taking several WP installations from design to delivery, even while receiving simultaneous beta traffic, has overwhelmed cheap, shared hosting in the past-- but not MakersHost. I don't use MakersHost for anything mission-critical at this point, but if the service keeps this level of performance I'm not opposed to it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

While the websites themselves have always been fast (in my experience), the backend control panel lags a bit. It's just a minor annoyance. Also, the CP provides 'one-click installs' for wordpress (Great) but when you go to nuke a project, it's all manual (check wp-config.php for the DB name and then pray you delete the right one in the SQL admin section, and then delete the folder in the file manager). The Price is really cheap and one time playment, speed is increased. Different UI approach. Wordpress with 100 multiple sites. The support is almost non-existent after you migrate to them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

They recently increased speeds, but my sites haven’t experienced this much downtime in my 20 years in the industry. If you have a money site, really be careful as when it goes down, it’s down for days, not a couple of hours. They have consistently been longer than the response time they mention.

I’m trying to migrate out to another provider, as this has been my worst experience with hosting, and they aren’t helping. There are errors with the migration they need to help with. Been about a week with no response. Not happy at all! This is the first purchase on Appsumo I actually regret. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

They're offering an unlimited hosting service, they're also doing this with an Agency plan, so effectivelly doing unlimited, unlimited plans. (read that twice!) Also, the cherry on top is that support is quick and very helpful.
