## Mailtrap Reviews
  ### 1. Impressive, Caring Support That Makes Mailtrap Easy to Recommend

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Julián P. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 25, 2026

**What do you like best about Mailtrap?**

The support team. When I reached out to apply for their non-profit program, the experience was genuinely impressive — fast responses, clear communication, and a level of care I didn't expect. Every follow-up question I had was resolved on their end immediately rather than sending me through a confusing UI flow. That kind of attention to detail and willingness to go the extra step is rare, and it makes Mailtrap easy to recommend.

**What do you dislike about Mailtrap?**

The UI can be a bit confusing in some account management flows — for example, it wasn't immediately clear how to safely remove a payment method without accidentally affecting my plan. A few of those edge cases could be smoother.

**What problems is Mailtrap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reliable transactional email delivery. Our platform uses OTP-based authentication, so email delivery is critical — if an OTP doesn't land in the inbox, users can't log in. Mailtrap handles that reliably, and the testing environment makes it easy to verify email flows without touching real inboxes during development.

  ### 2. Flexible, Simple Setup That Makes Test Emails Easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Charles R. | IT Product Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 30, 2026

**What do you like best about Mailtrap?**

It’s very flexible and simple to set up dynamically, with all the tools we need to send test emails. It’s also easy to add more users as exceptions for auto-forwarding, and it just works.

**What do you dislike about Mailtrap?**

Nothing really the tools are great to make it work like we need to.

**What problems is Mailtrap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

WE need to test our outbound email flows from custom and vendor apps so we know how the emails will work without confusing users with emails that are for testing.

  ### 3. Effective Email Solution with Stellar Support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrzej S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 26, 2026

**What do you like best about Mailtrap?**

I like Mailtrap because it offers a relatively straightforward connection and has a support team that replies to messages. Everything works as it should, which is reassuring.

**What do you dislike about Mailtrap?**

I think it would be a good idea if they recorded a tutorial on how to integrate WooCommerce, as people who aren’t very tech-savvy might find it a bit of a hurdle. I didn’t have any major problems, though it wasn’t straightforward, especially when it came to integrating it with an existing shop.

**What problems is Mailtrap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Mailtrap to send transactional emails from WooCommerce, resolving SMTP sending limit issues on shared hosting.

  ### 4. Boosts Email Deliverability with Simplicity and Value

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Muyivu S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2026

**What do you like best about Mailtrap?**

I find Mailtrap easy to use with its user-friendly UI designed keeping simplicity in mind, which eases my communication. I appreciate Mailtrap's good pricing, starting at $15, which includes both SMTP integrations and marketing features together. The awesome customer support responds fast and professionally, which stands out compared to my last experience with SendGrid.

**What do you dislike about Mailtrap?**

Support for WordPress would be very crucial with an official plugin.

**What problems is Mailtrap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find Mailtrap solves poor email deliverability issues. It's easy to use with a simple UI, affordable, and their customer support is awesome. At $15, it covers both SMTP integrations and marketing features, which I had to pay separately for with SendGrid.

  ### 5. Sublime Support That Responds in Minutes

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Wim L. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Mailtrap?**

Their support is truly sublime. They respond within minutes and take the time to think along with you, so you can find the best solution for your specific situation.

**What do you dislike about Mailtrap?**

I’m still discovering everything, but so far it’s been great.

**What problems is Mailtrap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a small business owner, I send a low volume of transactional emails, and Mailtrap fits my needs well right now. I’m confident it will scale with me as my email needs grow over time.

  ### 6. Mailtrap solved a problem we had struggled with for years

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Seth C. | Software Development Technical Lead, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 17, 2025

**What do you like best about Mailtrap?**

Mailtrap's email sandbox feature solved a problem we have had for years - how to trap and review emails being generated by our DEV and UAT environments and preventing them filling our inboxes. It also allowed our team the convenience of reviewing the emails in a single place. Now we can't do without it! Next we are planning to move to their email API as the competitor we are currently using hasn't innovated for years. Customer suppport is excellent too.

**What do you dislike about Mailtrap?**

We haven't really found any dislikes thus far!

**What problems is Mailtrap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have many automated emails in our software that is trigger by different events and times. Mailtrap helps to confirm that emails are being triggered at the correct time rather than just as a result of testing scripts. It also allows us to review the SPAM score and HTML of each email.

  ### 7. Intuitive Features and Outstanding Customer Service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tim T. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 11, 2026

**What do you like best about Mailtrap?**

I've barely scratched the surface of the potential this platform has, but every feature is incredibly intuitive to use as well as robust for implimentation.

The service I received when I accidently added a second concurrently running subscription, which I didn't need was above my expectation.

Super pleased with the Mailtrap platform and their customer service

**What do you dislike about Mailtrap?**

A useful feature could be "template bases" in which you could design the email template header and footer (and any other globaly occurring elements) and then use this as the base for all emails. Saves you changing the header on every email everything.

Nothing that I dont like about the service or platform

**What problems is Mailtrap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automated emails from client sites to users

  ### 8. Great Pricing and an Amazing Interface for Fast, Simple Email Delivery

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stanley R. | Business Owner, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Mailtrap?**

Great pricing and an amazing interface that makes email delivery fast, simple, and enjoyable.

**What do you dislike about Mailtrap?**

The only downside is that some advanced features can take a bit of time to fully explore, but overall, the platform is very polished and easy to use.

**What problems is Mailtrap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mailtrap helps me send real transactional emails and automations reliably, which saves time, reduces delivery issues, and makes email operations much easier to manage.

  ### 9. Strong deliverability and dev friendly API for transactional email

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Piotr F. | CEO, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Mailtrap?**

Mailtrap helped us centralize and scale our transactional email infrastructure across multiple financial products, ensuring low latency and high throughput. The SMTP and API options were flexible and easy to integrate with our microservices, and we’re seeing consistently strong inboxing rates. Their support team also helped us with some DKIM alignment issues early on, resolving them within hours. The platform’s real-time email event tracking and detailed email logs also help us monitor how our emails are performing.

**What do you dislike about Mailtrap?**

We’d love to see more marketing automation features so we could cover more of our lifecycle comms in one place. Also, having an option for EU-based data storage would be helpful for some of our regional compliance needs, particularly for GDPR.

**What problems is Mailtrap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Mailtrap to ensure fast, reliable delivery of KYC emails, account notifications, and financial transaction alerts across multiple domains. Prior providers failed to maintain sender reputation across projects, but Mailtrap’s automated IP warm-up and domain-level deliverability controls solved that. Our engineers also save time thanks to clear API docs and secure, TLS-encrypted connections.

  ### 10. Handles spikes smoothly and works well at scale

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Edoardo P. | Product Manager, Pharmaceuticals, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Mailtrap?**

The ability to separate transactional and bulk traffic using different IP pools and dedicated IPs has been a game changer for us. It keeps deliverability high for important messages like invoices and payment reminders, while letting us send large volumes like monthly digests without risking delays. The platform’s high-throughput infrastructure handles volume spikes smoothly, which is crucial at the end of each billing cycle (think ~700k+ invoices and notifications in 24 hours).

**What do you dislike about Mailtrap?**

The platform does a great job on the infrastructure side, but we still wish there were more built-in automation for things like dynamic suppression rules or event-driven flows. Currently, we handle those on our end via webhooks and custom logic.

**What problems is Mailtrap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Mailtrap to send high volumes of transactional emails reliably and maintain clean separation from our bulk infrastructure. In the past, our marketing sends would drag down the sender score of critical messages. Since moving to Mailtrap’s split infrastructure, we’ve seen bounce rates drop by ~22% and inbox placement improve across Microsoft and Google domains. It also simplified our compliance reporting and made it easier to align with standards like PCI DSS for financial communications.

  ### 11. Practical tool for managing email in development and production

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Graeme P. | CTO, Computer Software, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 09, 2025

**What do you like best about Mailtrap?**

We adopted Mailtrap during a rebuild of our internal admin platform and used it to manage email delivery for release alerts, billing notices, and account-related messages. The API was integrated in under 2 days, and we immediately saw a drop in misrouted test emails.

One unexpected benefit: it's been easy for non-engineering teams like QA and product to use it to review transactional emails without needing help from our devs. This alone saves us around 4 to 6 hours per sprint.

**What do you dislike about Mailtrap?**

While analytics are solid for transactional email, they don't go deep enough for lifecycle or marketing use cases (e.g. multi-step journeys or conversion tracking).

**What problems is Mailtrap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mailtrap gives us reliable delivery and excellent email uptime across environments. We don't need to set up multiple subdomains or wrangle environment-specific credentials just to test email flows safely - it's saved us hours of overhead and helped us avoid critical mistakes.
We've also saved engineering time since setting up SPF, DKIM, and domain verification used to take hours per domain with SES or Mandrill. As we manage 8+ domains, having the option for a dedicated IP for our key projects has been a major plus.

  ### 12. An essential tool for our email QA process

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Germán G. | Bilingual QA Lead Consultant, Staffing and Recruiting, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 14, 2025

**What do you like best about Mailtrap?**

The best part is how easy Mailtrap makes testing emails for non-coders like me. I can go into our staging inbox in the Email Sandbox and see exactly what the user will get for order confirmations, shipping notices, etc. I don't have to ask a dev to trigger an email for me anymore, which saves everyone a ton of time.

**What do you dislike about Mailtrap?**

The analytics dashboard is pretty technical and doesn't give you the deep campaign metrics a marketing expert would probably want.

**What problems is Mailtrap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our old testing setup was a chaotic, shared feed from a developer tool that was impossible for QA to navigate. Finding the right test email was a pain, and we were constantly dependent on the dev team.

Mailtrap gives our QA team separate, clean inboxes. We can find our test emails instantly without bothering developers, making our whole process independent and much more efficient.

  ### 13. Great affordable product with new features

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Patrick O. | Owner and creator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2025

**What do you like best about Mailtrap?**

Value of the product for the price. it's affordable and offers many features. I have found Mailtrap to be stable and have been using it for over a year now. Their documentation is accurate and pretty easy to naviagate. The email tracking and webhooks are a game changer for me and I particularly like that it will scale with usage. If there's a month I go over the quota then I'm simply billed for the additional usage at a fair price. It's also easy to implement and integrate into my Django/Python platform.

**What do you dislike about Mailtrap?**

Occasionally, it takes a little longer than I prefer for customer support. However, they do always respond with accurate helpful information.

**What problems is Mailtrap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My clients use my platform to send hundred and sometimes thousands of emails to the members of their organization and communication is a key component for their organization. I use the Mailtrap webhook to forward deliverability results back to my platform and display it for my clients. This can be anything from mass email blasts to their members to password reset emails. The product offers all of this for a very affordable price. It's a game changer for my small business.

  ### 14. A Developer's Essential Email Testing Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** sandeep p. | Director Operations, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 19, 2025

**What do you like best about Mailtrap?**

What do you like best about Mailtrap?
Seamless Development Workflow Integration
As a developer working with both C#/.NET WinForms and PHP Laravel applications, Mailtrap has become absolutely indispensable for our email testing workflow. The fake SMTP server eliminates the constant worry of accidentally sending test emails to real customers during development – something that's happened to our team before using other solutions.

Outstanding Developer Experience
The setup is remarkably straightforward. Whether I'm working on a Windows desktop application or a cloud-based Laravel project, the SMTP credentials are easy to implement, and the ready-to-use code snippets saved us significant integration time. The HTML/CSS validation and spam analysis features catch formatting issues before they become problems in production.

Comprehensive Testing Environment
The sandbox environment is perfect for testing complex email sequences. I can validate everything from password reset flows to automated marketing campaigns without any risk. The ability to forward emails to real clients for final approval while keeping the testing environment secure is a game-changer.

**What do you dislike about Mailtrap?**

Storage Limitations on Lower Plans
The 50-email limit on the free plan fills up quickly during intensive testing phases. For our team's needs, we had to upgrade to a paid plan sooner than expected, though the pricing is reasonable.

Mobile Interface Could Be Better
While the web interface works on mobile browsers, it's not optimized for mobile use. Since we sometimes need to check emails on the go, a dedicated mobile app would be beneficial.

Limited Advanced Analytics
While the basic analytics are good, more detailed inbox placement analysis would help optimize our email deliverability strategy further.

**What problems is Mailtrap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Prevents Production Email Disasters
Before Mailtrap, we had instances where test emails accidentally reached real customers, causing confusion and potential reputation damage.
The sandbox environment completely eliminates this risk while allowing full testing of email functionality.

Streamlines QA Process
Our QA team can now thoroughly test email templates across different clients and devices without complex setup procedures.
The HTML checker catches rendering issues early, reducing back-and-forth between development and design teams.

Accelerates Development Cycles
Email testing used to be a bottleneck in our development process. Now, with automated API testing and immediate feedback on email content, we can iterate faster and deploy with confidence.
The integration with our CI/CD pipeline has improved our overall delivery timeline.

Enhances Team Collaboration
Multiple team members can access the same testing environment, making it easier to collaborate on email-related features. The project organization helps keep different applications' email testing separate and organized.

  ### 15. Excellent traceability at a reasonable cost

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lewis S. | Group IT Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 29, 2025

**What do you like best about Mailtrap?**

Being able to review email sending logs based on a basic SMTP service is worth the monthly cost for sending all of our transactional emails. We are working on integrations with the rest of our infrastructure and scaling the subscription as we go.

Implementation was a breeze, we were setup within minutes and the customer support was very quick and responses were helpful.

**What do you dislike about Mailtrap?**

Had a couple of issues with the account being temporarily blocked if the bounce rate was too high. We had a couple of fluctuations due to an internal issue and it took a couple of days to get unblocked

**What problems is Mailtrap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allows us to better track deliverability unlike before with previous solutions. We can better identify issues on our system vs. end users claiming emails had not been delivered

  ### 16. A straightforward and reliable email API for developers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tony L. | Chief Technology Officer at PremFina, Insurance, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 14, 2025

**What do you like best about Mailtrap?**

It's a straightforward, no-nonsense platform. We got our transactional emails integrated with the API in less than a day. Deliverability has been solid, and our signup emails are finally hitting the inbox consistently. Their support also helped us resolve an issue with one of our subdomains, diagnosing and fixing it within an hour.

**What do you dislike about Mailtrap?**

It would be a plus if it had more advanced marketing automation features. We're still using a separate tool for that. Not a dealbreaker, though.

**What problems is Mailtrap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were losing new users because our previous provider had poor deliverability. Mailtrap's automated IP warmup and solid reputation management fixed that almost immediately. The main benefit is that our engineers don't have to waste time managing email servers; they can focus on building features that our customers actually pay for.

  ### 17. Timely and on point support is just as valuable as well-functioning software

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User

**Reviewed Date:** December 09, 2025

**What do you like best about Mailtrap?**

Timely and on point support is just as valuable as well-functioning software. Mailtrap delivers both, and it's a great experience! I also like how Mailtrap is easy to use and self-explanatory. I appreciate the drag and drop editor because it's easy and requires no coding skills. The initial setup of Mailtrap was very easy.

**What do you dislike about Mailtrap?**

It should be easier to manually edit or add addresses.

**What problems is Mailtrap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mailtrap solves bounced message tracking in my mass mail campaigns. It's easy to use, self-explanatory, and the drag and drop editor requires no coding skills.

  ### 18. Reliable SMTP service for transactional emails.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Photography | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Mailtrap?**

Mailtrap has been a great solution for handling our transactional emails. The SMTP setup was smooth, and email delivery is fast and dependable. I especially appreciate how easy it is to integrate and test emails before they reach real users. Their support team was also helpful when I needed assistance.

**What do you dislike about Mailtrap?**

There was one instance where my email sending was suddenly blocked without any prior warning. I had to contact support to understand and resolve the issue, which was frustrating. Regarding their email marketing solution — while it still lacks many advanced features, I like what I’ve seen so far. It looks clean and easy to use, and it definitely has the potential to become a solid option in the future.

**What problems is Mailtrap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mailtrap simplifies the integration of SMTP for transactional emails, whether through API or traditional SMTP credentials. This flexibility allows us to set up and manage email delivery quickly and efficiently across different environments without hassle.

  ### 19. Very helpful and efficient

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John B. | Volunteer (maintaining a conference registration site for a professional body), Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 02, 2025

**What do you like best about Mailtrap?**

The folks at Mailtrap were so helpful and responsive guiding me through the process of getting the outgoing transactional emails from my web app working when the mail service on my server failed. I am definitely not an email expert, so I had a lot questions which they patiently answered until I got things working. They also operated consistently across several staff - there seemed to be communication between the staff that answered my many questions. I totally hate anything to do with integrating email notifications into web sites, but Mailtrap eased the pain!

**What do you dislike about Mailtrap?**

There were no downsides I can think of!!

**What problems is Mailtrap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Failed email architecture for an add-on domain to a larger web site.

  ### 20. Fresh relief from the bigger competitors but just as reliable

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 27, 2025

**What do you like best about Mailtrap?**

Mailtrap is a welcome alternative for those looking to get away from mailgun, sendgrid, etc, and find their support terrible and their APIs maddening.

Mailtrap is straight forward, easy, everything you need form an email service. Their ruby libraries and easy integration with Rails are an extra plus. Leveraging their API rather than smtp for everything is great.

As a consultant/agency I’ve set up and managed several client apps and services to do outbound emailing through Mailtrap, good seamless experience every time. Support is very responsive and personalized.

Absolutely ZERO reliability issues or scaling issues so far, if you’re worried about that compared to the larger alternatives.

**What do you dislike about Mailtrap?**

Integration with rails, out of the box, very good docs

**What problems is Mailtrap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy, developer happy experience

  ### 21. Excellent support and prompt resolution of critical issues

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pavel W. | Chief Executive Officer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 23, 2025

**What do you like best about Mailtrap?**

What impressed me most was that the support team proactively identified issues with my account and reached out to help. They assisted me in resolving several priority questions, including a problem with my domain that I wouldn’t have noticed without their help. The support was responsive, professional, and genuinely caring, which made the whole process much easier. Thank you so much!

**What do you dislike about Mailtrap?**

Honestly, I haven’t experienced any major downsides so far. Everything worked as expected, and the support team exceeded my expectations. If I had to mention anything, I’d say that more detailed documentation for some advanced features could be helpful, but overall, my experience has been very positive.

**What problems is Mailtrap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was helped to avoid having my emails go to spam for Apple Private Mail users, and also to resolve an issue with changing the domain on my account.

  ### 22. Mailtrap for Testing and Sending Emails

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ileana S. | Consultor CCM, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 19, 2026

**What do you like best about Mailtrap?**

he platform to test and send different emails and the possibility to design the body emails through HTML code.

**What do you dislike about Mailtrap?**

I would like send campaigns from out of Mailtrap.
And also reuse or resend delivered campaigns.

**What problems is Mailtrap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

the possibility to design different campaigns and schedule them.

  ### 23. Mailtrap is always been the best for me for the past decade

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeff D. | Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 20, 2025

**What do you like best about Mailtrap?**

Mailtrap is by far the easiest SMTP provider to set up, both for development and for production. I’ve tried other services like Mailgun and SendGrid, but none compare to Mailtrap’s simplicity and excellent customer support. I have used it a lot in the past decade and it never disappoint.

**What do you dislike about Mailtrap?**

Their live chat, it is not notifying me if there is already a reply. Probably my set up?

**What problems is Mailtrap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

From development to production is so easy

  ### 24. The smartest way to send emails via API—flawless, secure, and efficient

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Giuseppe P. | IT DevOps, Leisure, Travel & Tourism, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 19, 2025

**What do you like best about Mailtrap?**

Mailtrap's API-first approach makes it a dream tool for developers. Whether I’m sending transactional emails, onboarding sequences, or system alerts, the flexibility and reliability of their Email Sending platform is unmatched. The integration is straightforward with clear, well-documented endpoints, and their sandbox mode ensures everything is smooth before going live. It gives me confidence that emails are sent securely, efficiently, and exactly when intended.

**What do you dislike about Mailtrap?**

Honestly, not much. Advanced reporting via API would be a nice bonus—like deeper programmatic access to bounce or engagement metrics—but what’s already there works beautifully. The speed and accuracy of delivery makes up for it.

**What problems is Mailtrap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Nothing at the moment.

  ### 25. Mailtrap met our primary needs as a startup for affordable and reliable mail sending

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ozzy K. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 25, 2025

**What do you like best about Mailtrap?**

The pricing tiers of Mailtrap are both fair and affordable. I also love the fact that I can implement and mostly forget about it. Receiving weekly summary emails has been perfect for monitoring activity on a high level.

**What do you dislike about Mailtrap?**

The dashboard can be a little confusing, but I don't rely hugely on it.

**What problems is Mailtrap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mailtrap enabled me to integrate mail sending in my SaaS platform and allows me to mostly forget about it as I can rely on mails being delivered.

  ### 26. Does what is supposed do, not very helpful customer service

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jonathan P. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 19, 2025

**What do you like best about Mailtrap?**

It does what it’s supposed to do. It’s the only reason we haven’t switched yet.

**What do you dislike about Mailtrap?**

When we launched our business, we quickly blew past the limits imposed by Mailtrap. They were not prompt at addressing our needs and denied giving us an increased mail allotment during a period of burst growth. No effort was put into exploring the validity of our claims and we were treated like our lost sales didn’t matter.

If you are launching a brand with big marketing, use a different product than mailtrap that is more responsive to customer service requests and builds a relationship with you.

**What problems is Mailtrap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

**Reviewed by:** Harry S. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about Mailtrap?**

The documentation and information was very easy to follow. I was able to get my software talking with Mailtrap and start sending test emails quite quickly.

**What do you dislike about Mailtrap?**

Nothing, all their verification process while time consuming makes sense and is understandable. Thankfully the ability to send some test emails meant that I didn't have to slow down my software production to get the validation finished and was able to delay that out when the product was more mature.

**What problems is Mailtrap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sending automated emails from my software to various customers, including signup emails and news letters.

Super easy to test and inspect emails in dev without sending them to real users. Clean UI, great for debugging headers, content, and deliverability issues.

**What do you dislike about Mailtrap?**

Some limits on the free plan, and setting up sandbox environments can be a bit fiddly at first. Would love more detailed analytics out of the box.

**What problems is Mailtrap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Improving our testing in QA

  ### 31. Great service and great help desk

  ### 32. The best email routing service for this price

The web interface could be improved.

**Reviewed by:** Alysson D. | DevOps, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 19, 2025

**What do you like best about Mailtrap?**

Great tool for safely testing emails—we use it to notify clients about financial activity.

**What do you dislike about Mailtrap?**

Lacks detailed analytics and delivery insights compared to some transactional email providers.

**What problems is Mailtrap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mailtrap helps us safely test and preview transactional emails without sending them to real users. This prevents accidental email delivery during development and ensures our financial notifications are accurate and well-formatted before going live.

  ### 34. The definitive solution for app mail testing

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Religious Institutions | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 26, 2025

**What do you like best about Mailtrap?**

Testing mail was such a chore before I found out about Mailtrap. It's easy to implement and easy to use, I use it daily to test our web application's outgoing mail. Took minutes to integrate with Symfony. Their customer service is great too and they take good care of charitable non-profits

**What do you dislike about Mailtrap?**

I havent run into any downsides. The free account is fairly limited at only 100 test emails per month is the only downside really.

**What problems is Mailtrap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to see all the mail our app is sending in full html in one single pane of glass makes testing so much easier.

  ### 35. Kind, sharp, fast. Couldn't be better

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 23, 2025

Solid alternative to aws ses. was denied because of beta phase, they wouldn't know anything. I'm very glad with Mailtrap

**What do you dislike about Mailtrap?**

Could be simpler like resend. I looks a bit complicated at first glare

**What problems is Mailtrap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I wasn't ablt to go live with SES. Mailtrap allowed me and this is awesome.

  ### 36. VEry useful services for both testing and production environments

**What do you like best about Mailtrap?**

Ease of use and set up, really good support. We use it on a daily basis for both test and production systems.

**What do you dislike about Mailtrap?**

Maybe a bit to rigorous about mail domain setup, but these days it's expected due to various malicious users online.

**What problems is Mailtrap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy email delivery for test and production systems.

  ### 37. Good service, reliable. But configuration support needs work.

Where do I start from? Easy to setup, easy to integrate, comfortable templating, scales well, is stable, never had an issue, and the free tier is awesome!

**What do you dislike about Mailtrap?**

Nothing to be honest, from mailing, logs, troubleshooting, test, to marketing campaigns, it delivered what I've expected

**What problems is Mailtrap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I need to send emails with confirmation purchases, information, and marketing campaigns. Mailtrap allowed me to do that with almost no effort.

**What problems is Mailtrap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

tranaactional emails

  ### 40. Great for both, email testing and sending

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Peter J. | Project Manager, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2023

**What do you like best about Mailtrap?**

That this platform just keeps growing! We started using Mailtrap when it was just a testing solution, and since then, it has just grown into a place that can handle all our email-sending tasks. It’s safe to say that we were very quick to integrate the email-sending API as soon as it was released and took advantage of the in-depth analytics.

**What do you dislike about Mailtrap?**

Not really as dislike, but we’d like to see an email marketing feature added soon. It’s a crucial part of our business, and at the moment, we have to use a different platform to send out marketing emails. Kind of a hassle to have to use and pay for multiple platforms for tasks of a similar nature!

**What problems is Mailtrap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Mailtrap, we’ve achieved a smooth process entailing email testing and sending. It’s also been a major asset in helping us understand and improve our email deliverability which was one of our biggest pain points.

  ### 41. A great platform for developers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jaclyn H. | Software Developer, Transportation/Trucking/Railroad, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 26, 2023

**What do you like best about Mailtrap?**

The documentation is super thorough, well-structured, and easy to follow. Official SDKs and sample codes for API integration are very helpful.

**What do you dislike about Mailtrap?**

I would like to see more plugins and ready-made integrations to reduce the dev resources.

**What problems is Mailtrap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We’ve been using Mailtrap Email Testing for years and never had any issues. It’s a robust testing tool that has multiple great features apart from capturing your test emails.

So, when Mailtrap came out with a sending solution, we were more than happy to give it a try. Email Sending is also dev oriented, with useful integration options and a bunch of official SDKs.

  ### 42. All in one place

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mike F. | CEO, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 28, 2023

**What do you like best about Mailtrap?**

I like the piece of mind the alerts feature gives me. Nothing worse than fearing a sending issue appearing and my team not knowing about it. That's why we very much rely on the critical alerts. The weekly health status alerts are also useful but more for keeping our performance in check.

**What do you dislike about Mailtrap?**

Domain verification could be a bit faster, but we have been in contact with the Mailtrap team, and they say it’s something they are constantly working on.

**What problems is Mailtrap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We’re a small team, meaning we don’t have too many hands available to manage lots of different software solutions. For that reason, we really like Mailtrap as it combines testing and sending into one place.

  ### 43. Excellent customer service

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anna M. | Project Manager, Financial Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Mailtrap?**

The customer service has been a great help since day one. They answer all our questions quickly and always concentrate on resolving our issues. I also like the fact that they are always adding new SDKs which makes the integration easier.

**What do you dislike about Mailtrap?**

I would like to see more ready-made integration options with CRMs, e-commerce websites, and other platforms.

**What problems is Mailtrap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use both solutions of the platform. We use Email Testing to test our emails in staging. It’s been really helpful for identifying the sending issues of the app and testing emails for HTML rendering and spam. Then, we use Email Sending to send our refined emails in prod.

  ### 44. Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joan B. | Engineer - Team Lead, Computer Software, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 10, 2023

**What do you like best about Mailtrap?**

Luv the testing feature, we’ve used it for years. Our team sends at a volume, transactional emails especially. Account, project, and team management testing features help us QA a bunch of templates in not time. Also, we started using their Actionmailer balancer to split the production flow between Mailtrap and the back-up solution.

**What do you dislike about Mailtrap?**

Seems it took a bit before we got email sending SDKs, but they’re well-documented and well-kept, so no complaints there.

**What problems is Mailtrap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Handling a team across three continents would be a pain without user management features and straightforward integration. Also, their analytics is super detailed and you can rely on deliverability. Note that we’re on a Dedicated IP because of the volume.

  ### 45. Great solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Melody S. | Business Development Manager, Hospitality, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 05, 2023

**What do you like best about Mailtrap?**

The platform is developer-oriented which makes it dead easy to integrate it into any project or app. And official SDKs are a great help in that process.

But what I love the most is their support system. Whenever I need any help, they respond pretty quickly and solve the issues efficiently.

**What do you dislike about Mailtrap?**

Would like to see SDKs for more programming languages.

**What problems is Mailtrap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Mailtrap Email Sending for delivering transactional emails to our customers. So far, we haven’t encountered any delays or issues. It’s one of those set-and-forget type of tools that doesn’t require too much maintenance.

  ### 46. A One-Stop-Shop For All Email Tasks

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Catherine D. | Customer Support Supervisor, Computer Software, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 26, 2023

**What do you like best about Mailtrap?**

The collaborative features are a breath of fresh air for our project teams. The ability to easily share test emails and coordinate optimizations positively changed our workflow. The convenience of having it all in one place.

**What do you dislike about Mailtrap?**

The notification settings could be more detailed, allowing for better customization based on user preferences. The mobile view of the dashboard could be optimized more as well.

**What problems is Mailtrap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Less back-and-forth over email glitches, a one-stop-shop for all email tasks, and the trust that our emails are spot-on before sending.

  ### 47. Great user experience and in-depth analytics

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 08, 2023

**What do you like best about Mailtrap?**

After talking to the team, I can say that Mailtrap is easy to use and efficient. It’s very convenient to have all needed features in one platform instead of setting up different solutions. From our experience, the support team is always fast to respond, which is great, especially when it’s crucial to solve the problem as soon as possible.

**What do you dislike about Mailtrap?**

It's hard to pinpoint any particular cons since everything has been smooth so far.

**What problems is Mailtrap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The workflow is now much simpler and more straightforward.

  ### 48. Efficient and User-friendly Experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tiffany S. | Project Lead, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 06, 2023

**What do you like best about Mailtrap?**

One of the top things I appreciate about Mailtrap is its ease of use. The setup takes just a few minutes, and the interface is very intuitive. As a user, this has made a significant difference in my experience and enabled quick operation.

**What do you dislike about Mailtrap?**

It would be beneficial for users to have an opportunity to explore the plan's features before making a purchase.

**What problems is Mailtrap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The decision to switch to Mailtrap from a previous platform with a confusing interface has proven to be a wise one. Already familiar with the mail sandbox, the transition was smooth.

  ### 49. Testing and sending in one platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ronan H. | CTO, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Mailtrap?**

Mailtrap has been our go-to solution for email testing for several years. Recently, we decided to try their email sending, and the experience has been really good. What I personally appreciate are the comprehensive weekly reports, which provide an insightful comparison so we can analyze our decisions. Also, critical alerts really help to reach fast when something goes wrong.

**What do you dislike about Mailtrap?**

I wish they had a free trial for the Business plan, so it could be easier to explore the additional features before the upgrade.

**What problems is Mailtrap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allowed us to handle our email testing and sending needs within one platform, which reduced the need for multiple tools and simplified the workflow.

  ### 50. Mailtrap Simplifies the Complexity of Email Sending

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Scott E. | Senior Software Developer, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 27, 2023

**What do you like best about Mailtrap?**

With the analytics feature, we can swiftly and effectively dive deeper into the email-sending workflow. It provides a clear insight into 'what' happens and 'how' it happens. It's like a comprehensive guide to email sending, packaged as a tool - truly remarkable.

**What do you dislike about Mailtrap?**

API documentation was initially a bit challenging to navigate.

**What problems is Mailtrap solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The SMTP functionality provided straightforward integration with our applications, and it enabled us to start sending emails right away.
