What do you like best about MailPoet?

If you don't ever plan to grow your subscriber base beyond the 2,000 mark, then MailPoet may work well for you. It's free and pretty easy to build a newsletter. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about MailPoet?

It's the first time I write a review for our subscribers and while I thought I'd share my experience to help other users avoid falling into the same trap as I did.

We have a list of close to 20k subscribers acquired over five years on a single website through an opt-in form. After we passed the 2000 mark, we were no longer able to send emails to our subscribers without becoming paying subscribers of MailPoet, which we understood.

Following a rebranding and redesign of the site, we decided to upgrade our MailPoet account as we were no longer able to send emails to our subscribers. Right after paying for the upgrade (99 euros / $120), MailPoet asked us to fill a form to explain how we had acquired those subscribers. After completing the form, we were told that our MailPoet account would be subject to approval.

I found the practice of charging a customer first, then requesting the user to go through an approval process borderline unethical. Why not be upfront and ask those questions before charging your customers? We were really disappointed by such business practices so we decided to cancel our subscription straight away. Little did I know that I couldn't do so during the approval process. So you pay for a month of subscription but can't use the service. I emailed the support team to cancel my subscription immediately. I got a response 9 days later. I was informed that our account was not approved and that I would be refunded of my payment.

A month later, not only have I not been refunded of my canceled subscription but worse, we have been charged for another month! With no way to cancel the subscription. What a joke! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about MailPoet?

All in one integration with wordpress websites. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about MailPoet?

1) Sensitive ban thresholds - I have 0 subscribers as just installed it and using premium, only emails going out were Woocommerce transactional emails - got an email saying it's being suspended. 2) This suspension above results in ALL clients using your mailpoet agency to be disabled. 3) The product specific emails for followups require users to be on the subscription list - I just wanted to send a thank you email for purchasing and use mailpoet to send this out after they buy a specific product, will not work unless they subscribe. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is MailPoet solving and how is that benefiting you?

Mailpoet was supposed to help with a seamless esp for transactional and newsletters using mailpoets sending service. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about MailPoet?

MailPoet is an easy to use tool. I like it because it has predesigned templates to send newsletters with very attractive designs. Another feature that I like is that it can be used for free. I also like the fact that it allows up to a maximum of 1000 subscribers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about MailPoet?

The only thing I don't like about MailPoet is that it is completely in English and has no option to select another language. I consider that in order for the plugin to be more universal it should be translated in different languages. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering MailPoet:

This software is free and very easy to use, making it a good option to start doing email marketing. I recommend it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is MailPoet solving and how is that benefiting you?

MailPoet has allowed us to promote different services and keep in constant communication with our clients. Overall, it has given us excellent results as we have increased the number of email inquiries about our various services. It is an easy to use tool and can be used for free. What do you like best about MailPoet?

Ease of use and the fact users and unsubscribe from certain lists. Support seems to be pretty responsive. Andrew is awesome. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about MailPoet?

Not sure about 1 user being on multiple lists, will they get multiple emails if a blog is under multiple categories? We have yet to really dive into that, but i have read concerns in some of the forums. So this one I'm not sure just yet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering MailPoet:

Very easy to use. Each blog alert category needs to be assigned to it's own list. once you can wrap your head around that, it's easy to use. set it and forget it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is MailPoet solving and how is that benefiting you?

Not being able to mess with maintaining an alert list, unsubscribe and subscribing users. It seems we can set it and forget it once we have the list and alert emails assigned properly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about MailPoet?

The integration of my blog content directly into the Mail Poet emails makes sending fresh content to my readers seamless and easy. Since I publish new blog articles daily, there is always fresh content for my Mail Poet emails. The initial email design was "drag and drop" simple. The statistics reports that follow each campaign show how effective the platform is. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about MailPoet?

I haven't come across any drawbacks to the product. I know there is a great deal of technology going on that I really don't understand. I handle the content, Mail Poet handles the delivery, tracking, and statistic feedback that lets me know I am doing a good job without having to understand all of the "magic" that makes it happen. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering MailPoet:

If you are blogging and not capitalizing on capturing your audience with email integration, you are missing out. Mail Poet and WordPress are a match made in heaven. Trust me, you'll be convinced after just a few email distributions. You'll wonder why you ever used WordPress without Mail Poet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is MailPoet solving and how is that benefiting you?

Being able to consistently reach the Inbox of my subscribers has proven challenging with other third-party email systems I have used. The ease of content curation and the remarkable "open" and "click" rates I have achieved using the Mail Poet plug-in are astonishing. Every time I send out a mailing, I see an uptick in website traffic. More eyeballs on my site means more opportunities to deliver my message and capitalize on the website traffic. What do you like best about MailPoet?

Mailpoet is perfect if you are looking to manage your own email marketing services linked directly with your Wordpress site. The best feature is that it integrates with Wordpress nicely, and everything can be completed in Wordpress (welcome emails, newsletters and segmentation) without having to use another service. Another feature is the flexibility in the settings on how to activate certain email triggers when people join a website, or new content is updated. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about MailPoet?

There is nothing I dislike, only a suggestion for improvement which is the premium version of mail poet 3 should have the ability to support bounce emails using external email services. The current workaround requires a 3rd party created a plugin which I don't like, as it's not fully supported by mail poet. To use the bounce service with mail poet the only current option is to subscribe to there entire email service, which is not ideal, especially for organisations like myself who are partnered with amazon SES.

My recommendation for the mail poet team, to further improve their product is to simply add the bounce service support to the premium plugin, or as a separate paid supported addon. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering MailPoet:

If you're considering using mail poet, a startup with the free service which supports 1000 users. If that works, then switch over and make sure your web hosting is decent (dedicated hosting is preferred). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is MailPoet solving and how is that benefiting you?

Were able to drop MailChimp and switch all services to mail poet for a client. This making everything much simpler, cleaner and secure. The automation of emails and the ability to email out newsletters automatically when new content is created In Wordpress solves the problem of manually having to create newsletters Yeahch week. What do you like best about MailPoet?

After considering many possible email marketing solutions, I chose Mailpoet because it seemed to offer the the most responsive methods of communicating with subscribers. I took it as far as I could using the free plugin, then decided to upgrade to the premium version. This allowed me to request technical assistance on some issues that I was otherwise unable to resolve. The response was fabulous. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about MailPoet?

Like any plugin there is a fairly steep learning curve. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering MailPoet:

Until you have 1000 subscribers, you can upgrade to premium at no cost. WOW Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is MailPoet solving and how is that benefiting you?

I wanted to allow subscribers to choose what kind of info they would like to see in their newsletters. Mailpoet does a pretty good job of handling this. It so...much better to have an EMS that is integrated with my website than an outside EMS like Mailchimp. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about MailPoet?

Integrated ezine subscriber list right into my WordPress site means more frequent and easier communication with my double opt-in subscriber list. No more futzing around with fiddly MC external email list and building tedious newsletters, now I send amazing emails, much more frequently, directly out of my WP website. I wish it integrated with BookFunnel (maybe it will in the future), yet no more procrastinating on sending content. No more double-time with writing blog posts and also struggling to come up with ezine content. It's one step, and I'm always connecting others to my blog, so much easier and superior to an outside newsletter solution. Surprised more people are not using MailPoet. It is an uber-fast solution to creating and sharing content to connect with readers all from within the dashboard of one's own website. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about MailPoet?

There is nothing that I don't like about the app. The app solves my issue of not sending ezines regularly (I just could not deal with use of external email applications such as MailChimp and so on). I love that I can use the MailPoet drag-and-drop features to create and send out professional-looking newsletters in minutes all from within the WordPress website dashboard. It is easy, peasy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering MailPoet:

MailPoet is forever free up to 1,000 subscribers, so anyone can try it, see how simple it is to reach out to mailing list subscribers, keep them connected to your website and brand, with zero risks. As the mailing list templates are WordPress integrated, the app has sign up forms for widgets and pages/posts that are integrated (no more fussing endlessly with API codes and cutting and pasting CSS/HTML code and trying to figure out why the sign-up forms are not working). MailPoet is also GDPR-compliant, which makes it easy to follow the communications laws and guidelines worldwide. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is MailPoet solving and how is that benefiting you?

The need for more frequent contact with subscribers (because I was not logging into MC to create ezines) was solved by MailPoet3. I just don't have time, as an individual business owner with no employees, to have too many fiddly outside services to sign into and use. MailPoet3 saves time, it has 50+ integrated templates, so I can write ezines or merely send links to new blog posts, all from within WordPress. I am also keeping my WordPress updated, as I now think of my website as my hub for online presence (website) and customer communication (blog posts sent from MailPoet 3). What do you like best about MailPoet?

We have now been using the plugin for several months. Especially the ease of setting up everything, and the growing number of options make this plugin a gem for developers. But also the fast and friendly support if there is a question or issue is a relief. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about MailPoet?

There is nothing we do not appreciate with MailPoet. There are still all kinds of wishes for an extension of the smart woocommerce automations, etc. but as we have noticed, we are working hard on this and listening carefully to users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering MailPoet:

Complete with everything you need to fulfill all your mail needs, plus an ever-expanding list of woocommerce integration and smart automation mail capabilities. In addition, the MailPoet sending platform is very robust and ensures a cleaner mailing list and better response from the subscribers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is MailPoet solving and how is that benefiting you?

The main advantages are that we can use everything immediately and simply. And that in combination with a much lower cost item than with comparable solutions or Mailchimp, for example Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about MailPoet?

Easy to install and set up the form, mails and newsletters. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about MailPoet?

I wish there were more templates to choose between. Other than that I have no complaints yet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering MailPoet:

Mailpoet is perfect for building an email list and sending Newsletters. I have not had any problems. It was easy to set up. My advice for starters is to follow the setup guide and check that everything works by signing up to the form. Send an email to yourself and a newsletter. This way you will know if it worksproperly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is MailPoet solving and how is that benefiting you?

Mailpoet let me easily build an email list and the sendingservice is great. I love the newsletters. It is easy to make a newsletter and to send mail. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
