What do you like best about MailPoet?

MailPoet is very easy and quick to set-up, newsletter drafting is very Wordpress-like and emails end up in our customer's inbox. I switched from Mailchimp and been very happy as I keep all my customer data that never leaves my Wordpress install. Very tight integration with WooCommerce! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about MailPoet?

I wish they will come up with new automations quickly. I know they are currently working on them, but currently they don't offer that much. It could be a true WooCommerce powerhorse. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is MailPoet solving and how is that benefiting you?

MailPoet gives an easy and affordable way to send newsletters and product updates to my customers. As it lives inside Wordpress, it's quick to use without needing extra logins. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about MailPoet?

Without a doubt, the best thing about Mailpoet is the ability to do everything from your WordPress and not from an external page. Additionally, it is intuitive, and if you are well-versed in WordPress, you will get used to this tool in no time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about MailPoet?

It is not possible to create complex automations. For example, if you have a welcome email sequence, you cannot have your subscriber automatically move to another list at the end of the sequence. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is MailPoet solving and how is that benefiting you?

The interface is so simple and intuitive that it saves me time when sending newsletters. Since my sending frequency is almost daily, it is something I appreciate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about MailPoet?

What I like best is the integration with WordPress and the possibility to create a "Welcome Email Series" for the new subscribers on my website. Also, the email editor is very easy to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about MailPoet?

Mailpoet comes with 50 pre-designed templates. But these templates could be more and could also be more elaborate. Templates are a great way to start a newsletter fast, so this is an issue that can be improved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering MailPoet:

If you have an WooCommerce store, MailPoet allows you to send abandoned cart and follow-up emails. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is MailPoet solving and how is that benefiting you?

I manage an online business directory. With MailPoet I can create and send newsletters to my users and also a "welcome email series" to the new subscribers. MailPoet lets me be in touch with my community, with a high delivery rate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about MailPoet?

I love how I can create good looking email newsletters inside Wordpress, that connects to blog posts, media library, your favorite form builders and WooCommerce.

Depending on the plan you choose, it's a very cost-effective solution.

It's very easy to train people how to use it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about MailPoet?

Not as many triggers yet as MailChimp, the trigger - campaign builder could have more options like MailChimp.

You could still do all that stuff using Zapier, and to do a lot of stuff that MailPoet can do, you'd need to use Zapier with MailChimp as well. so 6 of one half a dozen of the other. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is MailPoet solving and how is that benefiting you?

I'm solving the problem of giving my Wordpress website customers (and myself) a solid Email Newsletter that works right inside Wordpress, so no need for 3rd party solutions.

Also, Mailpoet will replace the WooCommerce sequence of emails which allows you to redesign WooCommerce emails sent out when people buy a certain product or a certain category of products which really enhances the personalisation you can add to your eCommerce store. What do you like best about MailPoet?

MailPoet has some great features and the platform was easy to use. If you're running a blog-focused website, it makes updating your audience about your new blogs seamless. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about MailPoet?

MailPoet is not very e-commerce focused. They do have some offerings for it, but not enough if you're running a serious e-commerce store. There were just some key features lacking that would help support an e-commerce business. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering MailPoet:

If you are running a blog site, MailPoet would really work well for you and I would definitely recommend giving them a solid look. If you're more focused on e-commerce, then there are other better options out there in my opinion. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is MailPoet solving and how is that benefiting you?

We were solving getting our newly written blog articles out to our audience. We also we're using the abandoned cart feature. Another nice feature was the ability to "overlay" the default WooCommerce emails with more styled options that you could create. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about MailPoet?

The best thing about Mailpoet is that you don't have to leave your WordPress dashboard to run any of your email marketing campaigns. It helps you keep your audience engaged with super easy-to-use ready-made welcome emails, newsletters, and notification templates. This plugin makes it easy to automate and schedule emails for every action your audience takes on your website, such as welcome emails for new signups and post notification emails when you publish a new blog post.

Now they have also launched templates for wooCommerce stores, for example: Cart Abandonment Emails or whenever users make their first purchase, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about MailPoet?

Earlier I thought there is nothing to dislike about this plugin but after facing some issues on our website.

I can say there is some things that needs fixing.

An issue occured while connecting our own smtp and disabling the double verification mail support took more than 24hrs to respond.

There is a lack of design and aesthetics on the subscribe forms. You have to use elementor forms or any other form builder for that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering MailPoet:

Highly recommendable plugin, but if you are feeling skeptical, then try their free version of it. Trust me its worth it; make sure to have a grasp on sending service because sooner or later, you will need self sending service. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is MailPoet solving and how is that benefiting you?

We are currently using MailPoet to automate our lead magnets and send weekly post notifications to our subscribers. It is much quicker and easier than setting up a manual e-mail campaign, and we don't need to worry about manually sending emails to new subscribers when they are added, an automation takes care of it automatically, and the flow continues to run. Love the way MailPoet provides an easy integration into WordPress and allows for quick optimisation of different characteristics. Was using it for a luxury handbags and accessories brand on www.pipaton.com with global reach, based in Switzerland. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Certain aspects of the layouts cannot be easily changes through the provided editor. This caused certain limits to the look & feel possible (such as color floating background shadow is fixed). Some coding definitely required. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is MailPoet solving and how is that benefiting you?

Able to provide an overall solution for marketing activities and testing marketing tools and services available. Easy yet comprehensive WordPress integration is key here. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about MailPoet?

I like the fact that it comes with a sendingservice that unburdens me as a consultant. As well as having the ability to use mailpoet to customize woocommerce emails. Also being able to create lists, forms and all kinds of emails makes it a complete tool for almost every kind of shop. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about MailPoet?

No pdf attachments on all emails. Hope they support that in future. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering MailPoet:

If you start using mailpoet, be sure to enable subscribe old WooCommerce customers in the mailpoet > settings > woocommerce

by subscribing all past customers to a list because they agreed to receive marketing emails Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is MailPoet solving and how is that benefiting you?

Gmail, Yahoo and other email providers will treat your emails like spam if your subscribers don't open your emails in the long run. Mailpoet has a feature for it to prevent this from happening! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about MailPoet?

If you don't ever plan to grow your subscriber base beyond the 2,000 mark, then MailPoet may work well for you. It's free and pretty easy to build a newsletter. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about MailPoet?

It's the first time I write a review for our subscribers and while I thought I'd share my experience to help other users avoid falling into the same trap as I did.

We have a list of close to 20k subscribers acquired over five years on a single website through an opt-in form. After we passed the 2000 mark, we were no longer able to send emails to our subscribers without becoming paying subscribers of MailPoet, which we understood.

Following a rebranding and redesign of the site, we decided to upgrade our MailPoet account as we were no longer able to send emails to our subscribers. Right after paying for the upgrade (99 euros / $120), MailPoet asked us to fill a form to explain how we had acquired those subscribers. After completing the form, we were told that our MailPoet account would be subject to approval.

I found the practice of charging a customer first, then requesting the user to go through an approval process borderline unethical. Why not be upfront and ask those questions before charging your customers? We were really disappointed by such business practices so we decided to cancel our subscription straight away. Little did I know that I couldn't do so during the approval process. So you pay for a month of subscription but can't use the service. I emailed the support team to cancel my subscription immediately. I got a response 9 days later. I was informed that our account was not approved and that I would be refunded of my payment.

A month later, not only have I not been refunded of my canceled subscription but worse, we have been charged for another month! With no way to cancel the subscription. What a joke! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering MailPoet:

Don't use if you plan to have more than 2,000 subscribers Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
