## Lumigo Reviews
 ### 1. Best option for monitoring applications run on cloud and hear for quick alerts in case of errors.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shravan K. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 28, 2023

**What do you like best about Lumigo?**

Lumigo is good in several aspects. it is easy to use when it comes to user interaction with the dashboard and also easy to implement since it has straightforward integration with the AWS account and selecting the resources to be monitored through the lumigo dashboard.
It facilitates with number of features like configuring alert frequency, monitoring infrastructure, execution time monitoring, and customizable UI.
It is easy to integrate with third-party tools like Slack, and Gmail for notifications.
they also have very flexible customer support, Whenever we have new challenges they'll engineer the solution for us and for every new set of feature releases they'll schedule a call with us for a walkthrough of new features explaining what and how will it be useful for us.

**What do you dislike about Lumigo?**

right now it is challenging to disable or exit from lumigo once the AWS account is integrated. for that action, we need to raise a customer support request which becomes a tedious task for a developer. Self disabling/exiting option would greatly enhance the overall experience with Lumigo.

**What problems is Lumigo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

we have a number of serverless applications deployed on AWS, it's challenging to manually go through logs to get insights like execution time, errors, performance, etc. through cloud watch logs, with lumigo all these challenging tasks become super easy. Letting us focus more on development rather than monitoring. with the insights we get through the Lumigo dashboard, it becomes easy for us to clearly identify bugs, a lambda that is consuming more time, etc. and we can work on fixing those bugs or optimizing and reducing operational costs.
configuring alert notifications helps us quickly focus on issues and thereby helps us maintain the quality/accuracy of the application.
Lumigo also gives us insights on which endpoint or basically which lambda is triggered more, this gives us an idea of what features of our business application are being used more by end-users and we can work on improving the performance and quality of that feature more.

 ### 2. Lumigo helps us keep on track of all our AWS infrastructure

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Elizabeth K. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 19, 2023

**What do you like best about Lumigo?**

The most useful features are the lamda monitoring and alerting. We're not a large business and have a small tech team and all our core infrastructure is deployed to the cloud. At first we started manually setting up our monitoring software using terraform and AWS infrastructure, but it was fiddly and time consuming. Lumigo allowed us to connect our lambdas to a Slack channel and gave us visibility of all our lambdas and their failures in one place, making it easy to understand problems as they crop up.

Since then, we've started using the ECS features to monitor the few containers we have, leaned in more on tracing for debugging the lambdas dealing with customer data and also started to set up metric based alerting for when someone or something is spamming our lambdas hard.

One absolutely interesting thing has been working closely with the Lumigo teams as they had features that just did not work when we started out with them. For example, replicated Cloudfront lambdas were untraceable in their system initially, but since we made the effort to set up NextJS tracing, they made the effort to set up tracking across replicated lambdas and ensure we can see the logs in one place, which is fantastic. The account managers are also great and help keep us up to date with new and exciting features just around the corner and are a pelasure to talk to.

**What do you dislike about Lumigo?**

The largest downside is the pricing model, which is based on tiers and tracing. The point about lambdas is that they're bursty but the Lumigo tiering is not, so there's no easy way to specify how to cope when somone decides to, for example, index your site for their search query and you didn't set up the robots.txt to deny the API routes. Having said that, Lumigo has tended to be generous with limits when exceeded.

**What problems is Lumigo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lumigo is helping us gain visibility across our AWS infrastructure in an easy to use and administer way, with sensible tools that allow us to integrate meaningful alerts into our chat system, and tracing that allows us to see which resources were called with what parameters for our more complex lambdas, allowing them to be debugged. Although many of the features of Lumigo could be done by an inhouse Dev team, the ease of use and cost of Lumigo automates many of the common tasks we would need to do and saves us developer time on those features to use on actually developing our product.

 ### 3. Streamlined Serverless Monitoring with Lumigo

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Serdal K. | Senior AWS Architect, Computer Software, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

 ### 4. Lumigo is the easiest way to get started fully tracing all of your AWS functions

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ross R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 13, 2023

**What do you like best about Lumigo?**

The onboarding process at lumigo could not have been easier. In just 5 minutes times, I was able to fully trace hundreds of lambda functions and get alerts sent to me via Slack for any failures.

Finding the root cause of the issue is nearly instantaneous with great visual cues to pin point right where the error occurred.

Distributed tracing is so important in today's multi application environment, we are calling out to all kinds of services and want to know where and when a dependent service breaks down. Lumigo does this out of the box and has great tooling and dashboarding for all levels of the businness.

**What do you dislike about Lumigo?**

Lumigo has been very receptive to feedback, I just wish they were faster at turning around feature requests that would make my life even easier ;) But what do you do...

**What problems is Lumigo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lumigo solves the problem of not know exactly where an error started. The world of distributed applications is very hard to wrangle but Lumigo does it effortlessly.

 ### 5. Fast setup, an intuitive interface, and comprehensive metrics & insights

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Guy G. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 07, 2023

**What do you like best about Lumigo?**

Lumigo's platform has made managing our serverless infrastructure not only efficient but also enjoyable. Their user-friendly interface and robust features have simplified the monitoring and troubleshooting process, ultimately saving us time and effort.

The setup process was a breeze, allowing us to get up and running in no time, and the speed at which we were able to deploy it was quite fast.

One of the standout features of Lumigo is its comprehensive metrics dashboard. It provides us with a holistic view of our entire serverless environment, allowing us to gain valuable insights and make data-driven decisions without the need for extensive configurations.

**What do you dislike about Lumigo?**

While it's a minor issue, I believe there's room for improvement in enhancing the alerting functionalities by introducing more advanced conditions for triggering alerts. These relatively minor adjustments could further elevate the platform's already impressive performance.

**What problems is Lumigo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lumigo makes elusive serverless logs visible and presents data clearly, simplifying the monitoring process and helping us see and understand our serverless data easily.
It lets us check the performance and health of our serverless applications, offering proactive detection and resolution of issues with real time alerts.
In particular, Lumigo's execution tags help us dig deep to find problems with real accuracy.
We can track issues down to specific emails or IP addresses, making it easy to fix things quickly.

 ### 6. Serverless observability made easy with Lumigo

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mathieu L. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 06, 2023

**What do you like best about Lumigo?**

It is quick and easy to implement and without needing any code refactoring.

The integrations are good and help us getting alerts on various channels which reduced our mean time to detect compared to our previous solution.

Its tracing capabilities showing exactly what happens in a request, down to each SDK calls, help us in our daily support tasks. This also enables our developers working on new applications or features to quickly pinpoint errors and performance issues.

The "Issues" dashboard is very usefull as it sorts errors by types and last occurence, allowing our support teams to quickly triage errors in a mass of logs.

**What do you dislike about Lumigo?**

Its container support is not (yet) up to par compared to its serverless.

**What problems is Lumigo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Running a serverless first microservices platform, knowing what where and when an issue is occuring can be tricky, especially when a request spans over multiple sytems.

Using Lumigo helped us reduce our mean time to detect and also pinpoint the errors happening in production.

It also helps monitoring the performance of our solutions and optimize them.

 ### 7. An excellent product, both for monitoring and discover

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Quentin R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 26, 2023

**What do you like best about Lumigo?**

We were in quite a special situation when we started using Lumigo because our serverless applications were not monitored since we were re-taking ownership on externaly managed infrastructure. Lumigo helped us both to debug pre-existing unknown bugs, but also to get a better understanding fast of our systems interactions. It does allow for both discovering issues you did not detect, but also to monitor on two levels : technical and business.

It only takes a few minutes to get up when you use interpreted languages, and not very much more for compiled ones using their libraries.

**What do you dislike about Lumigo?**

Nothing special, everything is simple and neatly organized.

**What problems is Lumigo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mainly spent less time digging through logs and tracing. We can now easily detect and pinpoint issues in our serverless environment.

 ### 8. Lumigo: Streamlining Serverless Success with Ease and Excellence

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

Additionally, Lumigo is known for having one of the best customer support experiences in the industry.

**What do you dislike about Lumigo?**

Removing projects from Lumigo can be a challenging process.

**What problems is Lumigo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lumigo has proven to be invaluable in our operations. Specifically, when it comes to Lambda monitoring, Lumigo not only sends notifications whenever errors occur but also enables us to pinpoint the most frequently failing resources and provides latency data.

 ### 9. Go to observability platform for Serverless Applications

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vishwasa N. | Principal Solutions Architect, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 07, 2023

**What do you like best about Lumigo?**

It is easy to set up & integrate on any AWS Account with it's one click cloudformation template. It's transaction tracing feature gives users to ability to debug various type of bugs and failures.

The dashboard gives a overview of important serverless insights like % of failures, cold starts and latency. We were able to detect the bottleneck in our serverless infrasture that was causing the lattency and fix it due to lumigo.

**What do you dislike about Lumigo?**

Registration and maintaining multiple tenants is not that straightforward, which could be a pain point for agencies that are using Lumigo for multiple customers with multiple aws accounts.

**What problems is Lumigo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Observability for serverless application
- Centralized dashboard for insights such as Latency, % of failures, cold starts and performance bottlenecks
- Transaction Tracability

 ### 10. Streamlining Serverless Monitoring with Lumigo

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Albert F. | Member of Technical Staff 3, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 27, 2023

**What do you like best about Lumigo?**

One of the standout features that we absolutely love is its comprehensive end-to-end visibility into our AWS Lambda functions. Lumigo provides a user-friendly dashboard that gives us real-time insights into the performance, errors, and latency of our functions, making it incredibly easy to identify and resolve issues quickly.

**What do you dislike about Lumigo?**

The initial setup process can be a bit complex, especially for those new to serverless architectures. Some additional documentation or tutorials aimed at beginners could help streamline the onboarding process.

**What problems is Lumigo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The automatic tracing and distributed tracing capabilities offered by Lumigo are invaluable for troubleshooting complex issues. They help us track data and events across various AWS services, simplifying the identification and resolution of problems

 ### 11. The best tool you can find to monitor Serverless functions

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jordi M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2023

**What do you like best about Lumigo?**

- The amount of details it shows of every Lambda function you have
- The possibility to tag them so that you can easily filter out what does not require your attention at the moment
- The huge amount of log data available

**What do you dislike about Lumigo?**

I miss an introductory walk-through for new uses. It is true that if you know AWS and Serverless there is no such a difference to make this learning too steep, but it would be helpful to other less experienced users.

**What problems is Lumigo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Monitor multi-lambda solutions and tracing issues when they happen
Monitor lambda activity

 ### 12. Excellent Serverless Monitoring and Troubleshooting Tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gus E. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 19, 2023

**What do you like best about Lumigo?**

We are able to quickly surface issues and communicate the issues across multiple accounts in one centralized tool! No, logging into multiple accounts, or linking to multiple log groups. We are able to convey the important information sharing links within the platform to raise system issues. We also found this tool quite useful in conjunction with Load and Stress tests.

**What do you dislike about Lumigo?**

While the documentation present and is a new offering, I have struggled configuring the containerized monitoring tool. Otherwise, the Lumigo team has been quite receptive to feedback and keeping their product cutting edge.

**What problems is Lumigo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a comprehensive serverless monitoring and troubleshooting tool to manage our numerous serverless solutions across our organization. With the number of applications in both prod and non-prod and the number of AWS accounts these solutions reside in, we needed a single view to move on system issues faster and in a more organized way. This has done just that. Our teams can quickly use to the tool to root cause an issue and come to resolution faster.

 ### 13. Monitoring and Alerting with Lumigo

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 27, 2023

**What do you like best about Lumigo?**

Lumigo gave us an immediate look into our system and we were able to immediately flag some areas that needed our attention. Their customer support is by far one of the best ones I've seen so far, they take feature requests seriously and are always very responsive to our needs. The integration was very smooth for the serverless (lambdas) part which was very appreciated.

**What do you dislike about Lumigo?**

The container support was not as easy to implement as the serverless part, but it is to be understood since it's a new capability of the system. The pricing can become steep for smaller companies once you need higher usage than the public tiers advertise.

**What problems is Lumigo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed better and quicker insight into what was happening within our serverless infrastructure that doubled as monitoring and alerting.
Debugging and tracing has been made easier which allows us to address errors faster and better.

 ### 14. Big boost to a software engineer quality of life.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Goods | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 25, 2023

**What do you like best about Lumigo?**

I like how intuitive it is.
The tracing feature and the Timeline feature has proven to be extremely helpful. Proably what I like the most about Lumigo.
The usage information of different AWS resources is very well presented. The main dashboard is used daily.
Customer support is extremely good. They schedule cadence calls to answer any questions and show all features.
Adding a new stack to Lumigo is not hard.

**What do you dislike about Lumigo?**

I have been using it for almost a year. As a user it is hard to find something I don't like about Lumigo.

**What problems is Lumigo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Any kind of runtime error is easily traced. The time to find the solution is smaller.
Errors are shown instantly leading to a higher product quality.
Overall, Lumigo provides information that could take a lot of time to retrieve directly from AWS. This saves a lot of time and effort.

 ### 15. Observability done right

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dale M. | Head of Product, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 08, 2023

**What do you like best about Lumigo?**

It gives us confidence. We have thousands of lambdas and are actively using 15+ serverless products, and Lumigo allows us to monitor and diagnose performance issues with ease. Alerts come directly into our slack channels for instant alerting and group discussion on identifying and solving the problem. The automatic capture of event and payload data is seamless and excellent for debugging, without the headache of using CloudWatch logs.

We have tried several tools over the years, and Lumigo puts them all to shame. There is a wealth of valuable tracking data to help with everything from memory tuning of lambdas for cost savings, to speed optimisation by analysing the timeline of an invocation.

**What do you dislike about Lumigo?**

We would love to be able to trace a sample percentage of invocations, as some high-volume lambdas can eat into our monthly trace allocation.

**What problems is Lumigo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows us to know that our entire application is running as expected. No alerts, no worries.

 ### 16. Best in class modern troubleshooting toolkit

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nima K. | Co-Founder & CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 07, 2023

**What do you like best about Lumigo?**

The UI is what got me to use Lumigo in the first place. Anyone who has used AWS or Azure logging knows how out-dated the interface for services like Cloudwatch can feel.

**What do you dislike about Lumigo?**

The pricing categories seem to discourage you from using the service too much, this is certainly a difficult problem for SaaS businesses to tackle, at least Lumigo staff have been mostly supportive in this area and to be fair to them, it is a simple and straight forward plan as opposed to hidden fees and extras for this and that.

**What problems is Lumigo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having lots of serverless micro-services as well as containers usually calls for a whole separate stack such as ELK or similar, which not only requires setting up, but maintaining, and their own learning curve, which we can just skip using something as beautifully designed as Lumigo. It solves a clear problem of observability, in an elegant way consistently through out various challenging setups such as serverless, containers, Kubernetes etc.

 ### 17. Lighting the way to debugger friendly serverless programming

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Caleb L. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 06, 2023

**What do you like best about Lumigo?**

It makes my development process much easier and much more efficient. I am able to see exactly what is happening behind the scenes and can resolve issues quicker. Live Tail and Service Request Flow Map are my two favourite features, with the Alerting coming in a close third. The Issues tab is super handy to come back to to deal with issues I am not currently busy with.

**What do you dislike about Lumigo?**

There is nothing I dislike about Lumigo. There are a few areas I think could be improved. I think the dashboard view could do with some love. It feels like the widgets are a bit generic and were the bare minimum to enable a dashboard view. I would really enjoy being able to customise those widgets more. Different types of graphs, multiple lambdas in one graph, more grid options to resize the widgets, etc. I spent ALOT of time working with Dynatrace and I was spoiled for choice there with the dashboard customisability, so that is what I long for with Lumigo.

I definitely enjoy the technical review sessions, however I was slightly dissapointed with the most recent one since we went over all the functionality I am already using. It felt like the presenter was expecting to present to someone who hasn't used Lumigo much.

**What problems is Lumigo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Debugging while developing the system and then monitoring and alerting of production systems. It helps me pinpoint issues quicker and makes me a more efficient developer.

 ### 18. Functionally rich, robust and user-friendly Serverless monitoring tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pete W. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Lumigo?**

* Linking related invocations together through transactions so that you can follow the full journey of that user.
* The live 'Explore' capability to find and filter down through a huge amount of data to exactly what you need in near real-time is awesome.
* Execution tags are incredibly useful when debugging.
* I love the control center for managing alerts and muting them.

**What do you dislike about Lumigo?**

* The agent for Python is missing support for the DB library that we use, so we can't see the communication with Aurora (there are some libs supported, just not ours!)
* The alert configuration could be more advanced to allow AND / OR rules.

**What problems is Lumigo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lumigo helps us track down issues within our very complex stack in near real-time, it's a vital component in our monitoring suite. It has averted downtime and saved us money.

 ### 19. Easy to setup, amazing monitoring features

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Arootin A. | Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 02, 2023

**What do you like best about Lumigo?**

Ease of setup and integration
Features
Quick to respond customer support
Very easy to learn and use

**What do you dislike about Lumigo?**

Customization needs a little improvement

**What problems is Lumigo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lumigo helped us with monitoring our serverless applications running in the cloud. The transparency provided by Lumigo is unmatched in the industry. Without having to change much in the codebase, we were able to get a complete monitoring platform provided to us.

 ### 20. Ultimate pathfinder in the serverless world

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anton P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2023

**What do you like best about Lumigo?**

In a world of microservices and serverless architecture, Lumigo helps to keep all the small things together and fully understand/monitor your environment.
Onboarding goes smoothly and takes seconds, the UI is intuitive and has a dark mode:)

**What do you dislike about Lumigo?**

On a high scale, some features work relatively slowly.

**What problems is Lumigo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lumigo is all about making my life easier when it comes to managing and troubleshooting serverless applications. My team remains informed about every minor issue occurring in my environment.

 ### 21. The best serverless observability tool.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 13, 2023

**What do you like best about Lumigo?**

Very easy to set up with automatic instrumentation.
Rich dashboard with the option to dig very deep into individual traces.
The delay for a trace to show up (when using it during development) has improved a lot.

**What do you dislike about Lumigo?**

It can get a little tricky to navigate at scale, with long load times or incomplete search options (100k+ traced invocations).
When one invocation is really big (fan-out processes with 100+ spokes) some of the functionality can break.

**What problems is Lumigo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Enriched lambda tracing, especially around service interactions and http requests.
We use Lumigo at every software stage, from features development to production troubleshooting. It has helped us dramatically slash our debugging time by surfacing a lot of information without having to add much to the code.
I'm excited by the Open Telemetry integration but we haven't had the opportunity to really use it yet.

 ### 22. Painless and fast

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sahand S. | Founder & Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 07, 2023

**What do you like best about Lumigo?**

- The painless setup which maybe took 5 minutes
- The tracing between every serverless service
- Slack integration
- The ability to search EVERYTHING (all events, all responses, all the logs) and get the results in a split second; much much faster than going through CloudWatch Logs

**What do you dislike about Lumigo?**

I wish the Alarms and the Slack integration for the alarms were much more configurable. For example, I wish I could ignore "lambda execution errors when the event includes x and y parameters". That way, we could ignore alarms for our tests or expected error scenarios.

**What problems is Lumigo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Resolving errors for customers
- Monitoring infrastructure performance

 ### 23. Serverless monitoring using lumigo

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dhaval C. | Technical Architect, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Lumigo?**

The details around each event, event tracing, error logs, and secret masking, the latency of services, most failing function list, filters on invoked function list.

**What do you dislike about Lumigo?**

Alert snoozing when you have slack integration will flood the channel if there are let's say continuous failures of the functions.

**Recommendations to others considering Lumigo:**

It's the complete solution for a serverless stack providing all the major information you need to diagnose failures, monitor invocations, and track issues.

**What problems is Lumigo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are monitoring our serverless stack using lumigo. It's on AWS lambda and we are getting insights into how our lambdas are performing and error tracking and resolutions.

 ### 24. Streamlining Serverless Development and Monitoring

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Akshay S. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 27, 2023

**What do you like best about Lumigo?**

I like the Lumigo's real-time tracing of lambda's and alerts. Lumigo provides a user friendly dashboard, and by using that it becomes very easy to navigate and debug the problems of the application.
