Made running my team's hybrid onsite/remote workflow 10x easier Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I don't like how backups eat my storage data. Would prefer a completely local backup option Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Being able to edit video without having to download them completely helped us working way mire efficiently Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I would have loved to be able to access the content stored in my lucid link server on my phone, to be able to show my rushs to my client on the go Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The integration with the native system provides an invaluable way for users to collaborate. Users who are already used to a networked file store for collaborating find the transition super easy as a result, and using backup or file transfer tools is great because the volume is treated almost as a local one. I don't think this is inherent to LucidLink but dealing with inadequate upload speeds and large files is something we continue to struggle with for some users. LucidLink does seem to handle this quite well though. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Uploading files is an easy process. I've found both upload and download speeds faster than comparable products, which makes getting the files I need feel effortless. It is a great way to collaborate with other video editors in my organization to pass projects back and forth seamlessly. Gone are the days of shipping hard drives back and forth or postponing a deadline because we don't have access to all the files we need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It would be nice if it had the option to send a download link to clients who don't have the product so that they can download their files directly from our system without having to install it on their end. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like the idea that we can have a cloud filesystem that mounts just like any NAS. It also provides great ability to mount in cloud computing to minute data without the hinder of on-prem to cloud networks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes we feel we are on the bleeding edge and are just a test case for new features and bugs. We feel a lot of the growing pains of being early adopters. Example: 2.0 upgrade. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The simplicity is the best feature. There's really only one requirement: good internet. From there you can do just about any workflow the way you need it to be. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I really don't think there's a downside unless you have bad internet speeds. Almost anything is possible in an offline post production workflow. An online workflow is still possible, but there are limitations that cannot be overcome. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The simplicity is my favorite part. Just the simple act of signing into the LucidApp makes it a much more enjoyable experience. I frankly wouldn't know who to compare it to. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I think with our Avid Environment, it would be great for Lucid to integrate bin-locking into their platform natively, without having to rely on third party vendors like Hedge. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The most helpful thing about Lucid is being able to access your project from anywhere, pending a strong internet connection. I'd likened Lucid to Dropbox or Google Drive, and while Lucid still has to sync the media you use, it's much better than downloading it from the platforms I mentioned. It's beneficial for project handoff, media turnovers, and just keeping the projects all in one place! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Lucid's biggest downfall for me has been its dependence on STRONG internet connection, as well as using Lucid alongside other platforms that require the connection. While Lucid is great for providing access, like Google Drive and Dropbox, you'd still need to have somewhat decent internet to really see Lucid shine. For example, I work for a media production company on the post-production end, and I offered Lucid as a solution for our remote editors. Since most of them work from home, the servers at our facility don't give them the strongest connection to access files, and sometimes they won't be able to access them at all! At our facility, Lucid is fantastic, but remotely, it can be laggy, slow, and it takes up a lot of bandwidth to sync the media being used, so a lot of times, our editors end up having to copy the files from Lucid onto their hard drives to work locally; one of them even upgraded their internet to experience Lucid at its best. I think this tool has enabled an effective workflow for keeping everything in the cloud in one place while also being useable from anywhere, from in-office to remote. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The platform his heavily reliant on internet speed and connection. I think it would be helpful if there was some more infrastructure for their pinning system, or the development of an "offline mode" Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
LucidLink is a great platform for file storage, especially images, across various locations. It's an excellent option for marketing teams. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
LucidLink has the ability to be used through an app that is installed, or as a mapped drive. Sometimes those who map the drive lose that mapping, but otherwise the platform works. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
