## Data Studio Reviews
  ### 1. Powerful data studio

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Photography | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 06, 2019

**What do you like best about Data Studio?**

I am able to bring in my Google Analytics and Google Search Console data, and view them in one place. There are a number of free templates online to get you started as well. After that you can tweak these to fit your needs, or design new ones from scratch.

**What do you dislike about Data Studio?**

The design tools can feel a little clunky, and I cant see a way to get filters (date range etc) to apply to all pages quickly and easily.

**Recommendations to others considering Data Studio:**

Start with a pre-existing template, and use this to learn and develop your own dashboards.

**What problems is Data Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I moved away from Jetpack which was slowing down my website. Data Studio produces better graphs and visualizations, making me glad I made the switch.

  ### 2. Reporting Made Easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shane G. | Digital Account Executive, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 29, 2019

**What do you like best about Data Studio?**

Reports can really be a pain but Google Data Studio makes it extremely easy to craft up a report that we can gather all the data from multiple sources and review it quickly and efficiently. It's such a customizable piece of software that we're in love with all the capabilities.

**What do you dislike about Data Studio?**

Needs to improve on the amount of features we're able to do on this.

**Recommendations to others considering Data Studio:**

It's so easy to use and access.

**What problems is Data Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Giving our clients the data they need when they need it because we can provide comprehensive reports. Helps show them the ROI that we provide and how we can influence their business.

  ### 3. Excellent and easy to use

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Goods | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 28, 2019

**What do you like best about Data Studio?**

Very easy to visualise data in a simple to use format that is simple for non technical people who have never used it before. I can also send data to others very easily

**What do you dislike about Data Studio?**

Not as well known as google analytics as I had only very recently found this tool. Also it is too ingrained in the google ecosystem

**Recommendations to others considering Data Studio:**

Good way to visualise data

**What problems is Data Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Analysing e-commerce data

  ### 4. Free tool that covers all essentials

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 06, 2019

**What do you like best about Data Studio?**

Google Data Studio centers around the concept of "report". A report in Google Data Studio has a striking resemblance to Google Drawing or Google Slides. GDS doesn't have a concept of a dashboard.

Compare this to other BI tools, where reports usually means a chart or table, and dashboard consists of multiple charts, with very fixed grid-based layout concept, we think this is among the nicest aspects of GDS.

**What do you dislike about Data Studio?**

GDS recently introduced Explorer feature (still in Labs/beta mode) which allows user explore a single Data Source in a simplified version of Data Studio. This probably is Google's way to address some users' need for quick & dirty data exploration interface.

**What problems is Data Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Perfect for people who call themselves business analysts rather than technical geeks. I understand business problems well, can speak the business language and a bit of the data language, and need some tool to collate and present pretty reports to clients or internal stakeholders, this is perfect as it utilised my excel skills.

  ### 5. Helpful but cumbersome for creating reports

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 16, 2020

**What do you like best about Data Studio?**

I like that I can create reports that look uniform despite having data come from a variety of sources.

**What do you dislike about Data Studio?**

Adding and maintaining the data sources is tricky at times; the system is finicky

**What problems is Data Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Created standard monthly reporting for my team; it's allowed us greater transparency and insight into a wide variety of metrics.

  ### 6. Great experienc so far. More Intuitive than others...

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jonathan R. | Freelancer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 29, 2019

**What do you like best about Data Studio?**

Google Data Studio is very Intuitive, Simple to getting started and works perfectly with Google Analytics. The samples google are providing are great and one of the best features.

**What do you dislike about Data Studio?**

Till now I havend experienced any kind of dislikes on the plattform itself. I would like to connect ARC GIS data into Data Studio.

**What problems is Data Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am using Marketing data from google Analytics to Show my customers data of traffic and activities on their Landingpages.

  ### 7. Powerful Google Product for your Data

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 05, 2019

**What do you like best about Data Studio?**

Google releases new updates and versions of Google Data Studio regularly and has a strong roadmap, which gives confidence for users. Google Data Studio allows you to highly customize reports and dashboards, which is a great plus for us. Finally, as it is very easy to learn how to use the product, even the most junior employees can use it from day 1

**What do you dislike about Data Studio?**

There is not strong enough data visualization layer that help Google sell cloud data platforms and services yet. There are limitations on calculating custom metrics, which is kind of a shame as we would need it on a daily basis. There are not enough templates that would help users to work more effectively as right now they always have to start the work from scratch

**Recommendations to others considering Data Studio:**

It is a free tool from Google, which has its advantages and disadvantages. I would say in an everyday use, it is suitable for small and medium size businesses right now, but given that it is a free tool, there is nothing to loose to try it out

**What problems is Data Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have a very positive experience with Google's Data Studio as it has rich features (e.g.: integration with various data sources, design complex data models), very advanced integrated analytics and an intuitive user interface, plus it is very easy to implement. It feels like this tool has many solutions integrated into one, powerful tool. For me, it is an extra that the visualization is beautiful, that can be easily viewed and interpreted. Perfect choice if you use Google's other tools

  ### 8. Beautifully complex

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nathan M. | Head of Marketing, Financial Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 29, 2019

**What do you like best about Data Studio?**

Interactivity of the visual data representations.

**What do you dislike about Data Studio?**

It can be really difficult to find your way around at times. Trying to figure this system out from scratch by just playing around is pretty hard to do!

**Recommendations to others considering Data Studio:**

Familiarize yourself with the documentation before diving into the deep end!

**What problems is Data Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps you wrap your head around big data, making it a lot easier to spot trends to boost your marketing insights.

  ### 9. Create simple yet elegant report visuals

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Games | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 05, 2019

**What do you like best about Data Studio?**

Integration with Google Analytics tool and the ability to combine different data sources.

It is fast and responsive. Automating the time-based information in reports is a breeze.

**What do you dislike about Data Studio?**

Like other tools, there is bit of learning curve owing to advanced feature google Data Studio has to offer.
Out of the box Integration with other tools could be better.

**Recommendations to others considering Data Studio:**

If you want to implement something simple and cheap, yet elegant reports google data studio is a way to go.
It can be handled by a few team members and doesn't require bid dam in work to set up.

**What problems is Data Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Daily and weekly reports. OKRs and Quality Assurance reports across organization.

  ### 10. Great visualization of reports

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 13, 2019

**What do you like best about Data Studio?**

The data visualization is wonderful. We can take our complicated website and social media data, put it in graph form so all our C-Suite executives have a quick takeaway.

**What do you dislike about Data Studio?**

The way it was pulling in a number of social media stats was not matching up with the analytics on the social site, so we still use Sprout Social to supplement.

**Recommendations to others considering Data Studio:**

Be flexible with how you get your info.

**What problems is Data Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to show deep statistics in a simple manner so we can showcase our marketing efforts in a way that people unfamiliar with web stats can easily understand, proving our ROI

  ### 11. Review of google data studio

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shubham G. | Associate Lead, Technology, Cloud centre of excellence, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2019

**What do you like best about Data Studio?**

I like the user interface and how easy it is even for the business user to use this service. It has also good capabilities as well

**What do you dislike about Data Studio?**

Sometimes doing custom tasks that are not supported natively can become quite a challenge. Also there is stiff competition from other clouds with better features

**What problems is Data Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are trying to consolidate large amount of data into a common format so that it is easily consumed and comaparable

  ### 12. Functional and Effective

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in E-Learning | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 14, 2019

**What do you like best about Data Studio?**

GDS is an effective tool for unifying the numerous data streams that we have to work with. It's particularly useful in translating our data metric to a public audience, and in showcasing how departmental alteration and curriculum shifts impact our takeup.

**What do you dislike about Data Studio?**

The nature of the product means that you are somewhat wedded to the rest of the Google Suite in terms of interaction and exportability.

**What problems is Data Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The collaboration features of the software allow a department by department approach to studying student metrics and planning for expansion and further provision of classes.

  ### 13. Good for report sharing, not a very robust BI tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Publishing | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2019

**What do you like best about Data Studio?**

It's very easy to share the reports with people inside and outside of the organization. It's great for making dashboards just using Google Analytics data (web traffic dashboards).

**What do you dislike about Data Studio?**

It has very limited features for data manipulation and visualization. It feels like it's missing a lot of key pieces to be a powerful BI tool. Some of the connectors are SUPER slow, and the cloud for mysql connector is so slow and breaks a lot.

**Recommendations to others considering Data Studio:**

It's a great data visualization and dashboarding tool if your company is already using the Google Suite (Google Analytics, Google BigQuery, Google Ads Manager, etc.). It is not great for doing more in-depth data analysis. It has limited features and can be really slow for doing larger data analysis, so I do not recommend this as a robust BI tool. It is great, though, for making simple dashboards, and they have been releasing new updates that are taking the product in the right direction and making it more interactive and powerful.

**What problems is Data Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sharing web traffic dashboards with the whole company.

  ### 14. Not a bad data visualization tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Erik V. | Programmatic & AdTech Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2019

**What do you like best about Data Studio?**

I like the easy interface and the way you can create reports and graphics, also the availability to track your reports with, for instance, Google Analytics tool and the ability to mix different data sources.

You can also add personalized data sources just as Google Data sheets files.

**What do you dislike about Data Studio?**

Not every connector for every single platform where to extract data from is available and if you dont have any knowledge related to technical and API's connection you would need to stick to those connector already developed.

**Recommendations to others considering Data Studio:**

You would want to invest some time creating reports before sharing them, there al a ton of features that you can leverage while creating just as operations between data so give them a try but keep in mind you can always do modifications after you share the report and they will be transparent for users who are reading them

**What problems is Data Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ad revenue visualization for reporting purposes for different teams mainly

  ### 15. Straightforward and time saving

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 10, 2019

**What do you like best about Data Studio?**

I like that it has the ability to draw data from many sources. It's streamlined our reports a lot. Also, the fact it's free is amazing.

**What do you dislike about Data Studio?**

I dislike that it sometimes drops the source between edit and view mode and you have to find and select it again.

**Recommendations to others considering Data Studio:**

Allow plenty of time for set up. It will work!

**What problems is Data Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We write marketing reports for clients. Using Google Data Studio has allowed us to focus more on the data and our observations and recommendations rather than data inputting.

  ### 16. Easy to use interface for building dashboard

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Food & Beverages | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 20, 2019

**What do you like best about Data Studio?**

Ease of use. I can easily create visual charts and reports by dragging and dropping metrics as well as dimensions.

**What do you dislike about Data Studio?**

When integrating with non-Google tools such as Microstrategy, it is difficult to automate periodic refresh of data for future dates.

**Recommendations to others considering Data Studio:**

Please ensure you can integrate Data Studio dashboard with data warehouse and other BI tools automatically through an ETL process.

**What problems is Data Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am building dashboards for multiple stakeholders who own different parts of the business. So, they can see what is working and what is not. And help improve the performance of their business KPIs.

  ### 17. Great for work

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 20, 2019

**What do you like best about Data Studio?**

It is great for creating data visualization . data analysis in a creative format and share across collaborators. You can access it from anywhere, anytime, using your phone or laptop.

**What do you dislike about Data Studio?**

The collaboration is not so easy and limit number of people. Also, the access to the internet is must so you cannot work if you are not connected to internet.

**What problems is Data Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My project is on effect of loan to small firms and trying to look at the effect on profit, consumption, revenue, expenditure.

  ### 18. User friendly

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Liz V. | Supervisor , Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 21, 2019

**What do you like best about Data Studio?**

I find Google Data center easy to use and navigate. I am able to keep all of my data in it and refer back whenever necessary. Others in the company can also access and make changes when needed. I trust the information is safe.

**What do you dislike about Data Studio?**

I sometimes have to search around for data that was complied. If I don’t name it something really specific I find documents from past years that are no longer relevant. I wish I could restrict some people (but not others) from accessing

**What problems is Data Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Productivity and scheduling

  ### 19. Amazing dashboards

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 20, 2019

**What do you like best about Data Studio?**

Google data studio is a powerful application to create amazing dashboards from different data sources. Mainly I'm using with Google drive sheets files as we are already working with it. The dashboard is easy to be created and will show you the information pretty nice.

Also is being automated and will sent you updated information to the selected emails when you set it ip.

**What do you dislike about Data Studio?**

There is difficulty to connect to some SQL queries as you need some extra application to do it trough.,but is not a direct problem os Google data studio itself.

**Recommendations to others considering Data Studio:**

Perfecto to create dashboards

**What problems is Data Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dashboard creation have improve a lot the activities tracker and status in my company

  ### 20. Potential but not complete

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 02, 2019

**What do you like best about Data Studio?**

The ability to connect to data from an array of online/offline sources, for Free. Being able to plot a chart with date filters using data from a specific advertiser within the google marketing platform removes alot of time exporting files and has improved autonomy within our trade desk team

**What do you dislike about Data Studio?**

not all of the metrics available in basic reporting for dv360/dcm are available in dcm.
Blending dcm and dv360 data can sometimes only be possible with a google sheets buffer with regexp_extract function removing part of the autonomous function

**Recommendations to others considering Data Studio:**

Some basic SQL script knowledge will be useful for optimal use

**What problems is Data Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

data studio can be effective in making data needed for weekly reporting available instantly without the need for scheduled report runs, export, pivot and prepare. However blending data is required for reports that would only require one data source for data from, for example DV360, if data studio included all the metrics and dimensions that were available to a basic report in dv360 or dcm.

  ### 21. A tool with a lot of resources

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eugenio C. | Marketing Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 14, 2019

**What do you like best about Data Studio?**

Google Data Studio is nice and easy to use if you know already what you need to display in a Dashboard

**What do you dislike about Data Studio?**

Google Data Studio is a nice tool that but few people know it and there is not enough information around to get the most out of it

**Recommendations to others considering Data Studio:**

Get more information as possible to experience the tool.

**What problems is Data Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easier to make dashboard

  ### 22. Google Data Studio for collecting market data

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2019

**What do you like best about Data Studio?**

Google Data Studio is the best free data visualizer for understanding your ROI and getting automated business reports. It’s very easy to implement and user friendly.

**What do you dislike about Data Studio?**

The only dislike I have for google data studio is that you can’t export your reports to PDFs to email you must view your report online. I would like to sometimes share them without providing a URL.

**Recommendations to others considering Data Studio:**

I would recommend using as it’s easy to use for sales reports and you can add your own comments and notes on the reports.

**What problems is Data Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am getting fully customizable reports that fit our company brand and you have the ability to add notes and comments. This comes in handy to share what you’ve noticed on ROI reports when having to present them to the company.

  ### 23. A half-baked product with good potential, but costly

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 21, 2019

**What do you like best about Data Studio?**

Currently, Data Studio works great with Google Analytics (GA) data. You can create OK looking dashboards using GA and make calculations between metrics. The reports are very easy to customise and read.

**What do you dislike about Data Studio?**

It's not yet ready to easily inject targets and calculate such KPIs as % monthly sales vs sales targets. Financially the costs of implementing and using the source data, contribute to making it difficult to achieve an ROI

**What problems is Data Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Does not necessarily integrate all data equally. Not all social channels allow their data to be imported via API, so manual imports are needed.

  ### 24. Extremely robust for client reports

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 12, 2019

**What do you like best about Data Studio?**

Data studio is an extremely robust platform that is great for creating and sharing reports with clients.

**What do you dislike about Data Studio?**

As with many Google products, there's not a lot of polish to the UI, and there's a steep learning curve.

**Recommendations to others considering Data Studio:**

Despite there being a steep learning curve, Data Studio is worth the hassle of learning. Try using and experimenting on the templates first.

**What problems is Data Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Data studio has allowed us to combine myriad data sources into one report, and offers all the data points that one could imagine.

  ### 25. Good tool for visualisation

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 16, 2019

**What do you like best about Data Studio?**

I like how I can choose how to visualise the data in the form of reports. It helps me convey the message i want to different teams.

**What do you dislike about Data Studio?**

I don't like how you cannot set frequent emails to be sent out, or how sometimes it feels quite laggy and slow.

**What problems is Data Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am able to quickly load and visualise large data set with different visual means as well as quickly create reports and templates.

  ### 26. Great For Those Who Want To See Data In A Different Way

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 11, 2019

**What do you like best about Data Studio?**

I really like the ability to import data across multiple platforms for my clients. We use a different program for call tracking, CMS, and mediums for ads and this compiles it into one great way to see everything from an overhead view

**What do you dislike about Data Studio?**

Some platforms aren't able to easily import to where you have to create an Excel sheet for it and manually import

**Recommendations to others considering Data Studio:**

It's great for any looking to customize reports across multiple mediums.

**What problems is Data Studio solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am solving a way to compile multiple data points into a customizable chart system where my clients are always up to date in the easiest way possible. I have realized this has really been integral to showing value and understanding on what's going on with my clients efforts in marketing.

**What do you like best about Data Studio?**

It’s integration with google big query and a no frills layout with minimal learning curve

  ### 30. Very thorough

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Management Consulting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)
