## LILT Reviews
  ### 1. Centralizing Translation Workflows with LILT

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lucas N. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 16, 2026

**What do you like best about LILT?**

What I like most about LILT is its intuitive and user-friendly design. The platform is easy to navigate, significantly reducing the time spent managing projects and allowing me to focus on supporting our language teams and ministry partners. LILT also streamlines our translation workflow by centralizing requests, assignments, and deliveries in one place. This efficiency, combined with its translation memory and terminology management features, helps us work faster while maintaining consistency and quality across languages.

**What do you dislike about LILT?**

One area where I think LILT could improve is in the administrator and project manager experience. While the platform is excellent for day-to-day translation work, some administrative functions could be more robust. For example, it can be challenging to locate projects when you do not know the exact project name, and the filtering and search capabilities could be more flexible. I would also appreciate more advanced reporting options and the ability to create customized reports that better fit our operational and management needs.

**Recommendations to others considering LILT:**

I would recommend LILT to organizations that manage multilingual content and need an efficient, scalable translation workflow. Its translation memory and terminology management features help maintain consistency across languages, while the platform streamlines project management and accelerates the overall translation process.

**What problems is LILT solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before implementing LILT, translation requests often arrived through multiple channels, making it difficult to track projects, maintain consistent terminology, and manage a growing volume of work across multiple languages. As the demand for language services increased, those challenges became more significant.

  ### 2. LILT is really helpful for translation, especially with AI, but the portal could be improved

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in E-Learning | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 23, 2026

**What do you like best about LILT?**

LILT gives helpful AI suggestions and makes translation faster. It’s also useful for keeping terms more consistent across files.

**What do you dislike about LILT?**

Sometimes the suggestions still need a lot of review, especially when it comes to context, or making the phrasing sound more natural. I’ve also noticed that the portal doesn’t always work as expected, like not picking up preferred translations consistently or having issues opening files. I wish the overall file/workflow experience was a bit easier and more reliable.

**Recommendations to others considering LILT:**

LILT is a good tool if you need to manage translation work more efficiently, but it works best when paired with an actual human review. The AI helps speed things up, but you still need someone checking accuracy and tone.

**What problems is LILT solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm doing translation for a language pack being offered by my organization. The AI suggestions give me a good starting point, so I’m not translating everything from scratch, but I can still review and adjust for accuracy and tone.

  ### 3. Helpful for Maintaining Translation Consistency

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 17, 2026

**What do you like best about LILT?**

What I appreciate most is how easy it is to keep terminology consistent across projects. The interface is straightforward, collaboration is smooth, and the suggestions from previous translations are often helpful. Overall, it makes the workflow faster and more organized.

**What do you dislike about LILT?**

There are a few areas that could be improved. On larger projects, segments can sometimes take longer to load, and opening terminology or glossary entries may occasionally feel slow. In some cases, machine translation suggestions also require additional editing. These are not major issues, but improving performance on bigger workloads would make the overall experience even better.

**Recommendations to others considering LILT:**

If you’re considering LILT, I would recommend spending some time getting familiar with the platform and making full use of the translation memory and terminology features. These tools can make a big difference in maintaining consistency and improving efficiency. Overall, I’ve found LILT to be a helpful solution for managing translation workflows, especially when working on ongoing projects.

**What problems is LILT solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LILT helps me handle translation and review tasks more efficiently. Having translation memory and terminology support in one place makes it easier to stay consistent and avoid repeating the same work. It saves time and helps me focus more on quality.

  ### 4. Great Support for Complex Multimedia Projects

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 17, 2026

**What do you like best about LILT?**

If I need a quick translation, that’s possible. For more complex projects, like videos with embedded images, voiceover, or on-screen text, I can discuss the details with a project manager to make sure I get the output I need.

**What do you dislike about LILT?**

My projects and documents are fairly complex, with videos, embedded images, and eLearnings, so there was definitely a learning curve.

**Recommendations to others considering LILT:**

Go for it! Like any new tool, it takes a little time to learn and adapt to, but the output has been the high quality we need. Whenever I’ve had questions, I’ve been able to speak with a real person and get the support I was looking for. The cost savings are definitely a plus, but they aren’t everything. So far, I’m happy we made the move and I absolutely recommend Lilt for anyone who handles a large volume of translation.

**What problems is LILT solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cost: As a global company, we were spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on translations to make sure our colleagues received the same high-quality content and information. We’ve only been using Lilt for a few months, but the savings have already been significant.

  ### 5. Adaptive Translation Engine, but Scalability Needs Work

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User

**Reviewed Date:** June 17, 2026

**What do you like best about LILT?**

I appreciate LILT's adaptive engine, which was unique in the market when I first considered them. The engine's ability to adapt based on our edits is a major advantage. The built-in analytical tools for tracking KPIs are extremely helpful. LILT's ability to connect with other AI providers is highly valuable for us as an AI-focused company. The commercial and customer service teams have been responsive to our needs and queries. Moreover, they have been involved in developing features to create a more integrated and consolidated platform for all our localization needs throughout the lifecycle.

**What do you dislike about LILT?**

I think the thing that probably needs to be further improved is the stability of the platform. Sometimes the engine slows down.

**What problems is LILT solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use LILT for translating content to multiple languages efficiently. Its adaptive engine meets our specific demands and helps us scale while maintaining high visibility and analytics for tracking localization KPIs.

  ### 6. Easy Document-Wide Word Changes and Helpful Translation Suggestions

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in E-Learning | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 18, 2026

**What do you like best about LILT?**

You can easily change one repetitive word throughout the whole document. Now there’s also a suggestion for other translations that may be better, and you can choose from there. It’s helpful.

**What do you dislike about LILT?**

Sometimes lines get blocked and need fixing. It’s easy to unblock them, but I don’t understand why they’re blocked in the first place. Sometimes it also cuts off words, and the translation is obviously wrong, which makes it hard to edit.

**Recommendations to others considering LILT:**

Teach the tool, and at some point all your proofreading becomes easier.

**What problems is LILT solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Translations are quick to review, and they help free up time for my core activities.

  ### 7. Great Account Managers, but MTPE Quality Inconsistent

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Goods | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2026

**What do you like best about LILT?**

Their teams of account managers are great. They are easy to work with and always ready to help.

**What do you dislike about LILT?**

LILT is an AI-first solution, and that does not necessarily equal quality. Even in spite of their models being trained to align with our content style and human translators reviewing the output, quality is still inconsistent across language pairs and a significant amount of post-delivery editing is required sometimes.

**Recommendations to others considering LILT:**

Transcreation and human translation from scratch rather than MTPE yield far better results with creative content types. Therefore, assess carefully whether an AI/MTPE or human-first strategy is more suitable for your particular content needs.

**What problems is LILT solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LILT helps us with translation services whenever we cannot cover these internally.

  ### 8. Real-Time Edits Are Great, But Selecting Entries One by One Slows Things Down

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 26, 2026

**What do you like best about LILT?**

It allows you to edit omissions or errors in real time.

**What do you dislike about LILT?**

You have to select each entry individually, and sometimes after selecting all the entries, the DONE BUTTON takes a while to appear.

**What problems is LILT solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have used other platforms that I believe are more user-friendly than LILT

  ### 9. Outstanding Team and User-Friendly Platform

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Research | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 25, 2025

**What do you like best about LILT?**

LILT's professional team is the best part of our partnership with them. Their platform is also easy to use.

**What do you dislike about LILT?**

Currently, we need to do a lot of additional work to sync our repeat translations, but that will get better with additional jobs in LILT.

**Recommendations to others considering LILT:**

I would ensure your team is totally ready for the transition, as once the contract is in place your best path forward is to use LILT as much as you can to scale your TM asap.

**What problems is LILT solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LILT's AI-enabled translations have helped our team remove many manual steps from our previous translation process.

  ### 10. Exceptional Support and Willingness to Help

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris S. | Web Designer; Front End Developer, Financial Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 25, 2025

**What do you like best about LILT?**

They are always willing to help find a solution

**What do you dislike about LILT?**

Nothing, LILT could only be highly recommended by me

**Recommendations to others considering LILT:**

Do a price comparison to competitors. LILT was WAY cheaper than other options.

**What problems is LILT solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LILT is very easy to work with, automates our translation workflows, and covers some of our obscure language needs

  ### 11. Nice system, but needs improvements

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David U. | Co-founder and Operations Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2023

**What do you like best about LILT?**

Their support is great, the system is good and easy to use.

**What do you dislike about LILT?**

The QA feature is slow, with several errors (like not taking into account the tags), shows many errors that aren't errors. We have to do the QA for each page, so we have to spend a lot of time going into each single page, clicking on launch QA, reviewing errors that aren't errors, ignoring errors and clicking on Done, and that time is not paid. There are projects with just a few words per page and over 100 pages, so the time spent for it is huge. When the project is updated with new words in various pages (i.e. 10 pages, 500 new words), you have to do the QA again for ALL the pages in the project, even if the update did not affect those pages. So you have to do the QA for 150 pages and only 10 of them had changes. Also, the QA shows terminology errors that have been translated according to the terminology.
The system doesn't log the time if you don't do anything on it for 30 seconds, so if you have to find some reference, meaning, log queries, etc. and it takes you more than 30 seconds, you are not going to be paid for that time, which is confusing, because you are not going to be paid for the segments you spend more time on.
I receive emails saying that the revisions are ready and that I should check them, but nothing is shown in the revisions page.
The reports page shows different values than the ones you are finally paid.

**Recommendations to others considering LILT:**

Remember to set you price per hour considering that you are going to do QA that sometimes is going to take you more than 10% of the translation time and it is not going to be paid.

**What problems is LILT solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lilt provides translation solutions and I work for them translating

  ### 12. They will not bargain much about rates so that is good but not sure if they have many projects.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vinita S. | Coordinator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 04, 2023

**What do you like best about LILT?**

Their Invoicing system makes our lives easy.

**What do you dislike about LILT?**

I like working on trados more than Lilt platform. On an offline platform we always have a better speed. There are no time-out issues. Then the way Trados provides suggestions is very different and better than Lilt platform. I also would like to mention that since I have been part of just one project, maybe I am not that habitual to it.

I also do not know about the system of how the projects are assigned. I have been on Lilt's list for a long time but do not know why I was not considered for any more projects. There should be some income every month (even if it is less) which motivates us to get connected and active.

I am very much interested in another project with Lilt and I am also open to any feedback as feedback helps us to grow.

**Recommendations to others considering LILT:**

Lilt is a system-driven one of the best agencies. One can just concentrate on the work and they will take care fo everything else.

**What problems is LILT solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The great thing about Lilt is they have an inbuilt invoicing system. As a translator, I find this very challenging that I need to send invoices to clients but with Lilt that problem is solved.

  ### 13. Nice type of projects

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gemma Eastabrook-Bonet MITI MCIL E. | Translator from English into Catalan and Spanish (Spain), Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 01, 2023

**What do you like best about LILT?**

They seem to have an easy-going approach to everyday processes and interaction with partners, and they offer interesting projects.

**What do you dislike about LILT?**

I miss more interaction or support from a dedicated PM for the specific project I work on. I am currently working on a continuous localization project, and some reference files were provided at the start of this project, but the files come automatically through the platform, so there is no engagement with anybody if needed. The main project glossary sheet has not been updated, and I don't know who to ask to get it updated or send a query regarding terminology issues.

**Recommendations to others considering LILT:**

I like the model of the company overall, except for the lack of human interaction. I would still recommend Lilt to other fellow linguists and prospect clients (for languages that I cannot offer myself).

**What problems is LILT solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They are taking feedback from vendors and hopefully this is used to improve transparency, communication and user-friendliness of tools.

  ### 14. A dedicated team, constantly improving the Lilt Tool.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Melocco R. | Freelance translator, interpreter, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 02, 2023

**What do you like best about LILT?**

One of the best things is that I do not have to write lengthy invoices copying strings of numbers, and payment is automatic. The new look of Statistics and the fact that most reviews are available later too are a very good bonus.

**What do you dislike about LILT?**

Addressing ppl in the informal or the formal conjugation should be decided before we start the translation process or post-editing. It will have consequences in more important languages like Spanish, Russian, French or German, too.
I do not know how exactly screen time is computed. But despite my attempts at control, it still happens to me sometimes that I leave the Tool on while I am researching something. That should not inflate statistics as long as the surface is inactive for a while.
There should be some way to rearrange a longer sentence with the tags. Hungarian would many times prefer an entirely different structure to sound natural but it would take me a very long time to figure out where the tags should go so I leave it trying to adjust to English preferences in structure.
Last, but not least, the QA process is severely damaged. QA is asking me to provide the exact equivalent of English words such as "the", "we" and "for". Hungarian does not use prepositions, and we do not use pronouns with verbs (except when we want to emphasize the subject in contrast to somebody else. Sometimes we use an article where English does not and the reverse is also true. In other words, translating itself is judged by the QA process as an error. A similar thing is when the punctuation is different due to different habits of the two languages.
Three-letter abbreviations are more and more frequent in English, they should be in a glossary - always. Otherwise it takes lengthy research to find out what is the likely solution.

**Recommendations to others considering LILT:**

MT is here to stay, but always check the numbers and code sequences, frequently they are copied erroneously. Pay attention to extra spaces, e.g. at the end of a sentence. If there are unorthodox solutions in the source text in terms of punctuation and extra spaces, you may not always want to copy those. Howewver, if there are sentences without end punctuation, you should leave them without.
When populating tags, you should almost always move them so learn the tag movement hotkeys.

**What problems is LILT solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Many problems are solved by moving tags, for example. The propagation works sometimes but not instantly. As if the AI would not believe be a few times before committing to my solution.

  ### 15. Well organized company, and they do care about the translation quality

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mami K. | Translator & Linguist , Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 30, 2023

**What do you like best about LILT?**

PMs are doing a great job. They are responsive, pay attention to details, and maintain positive attitudes. Their platform is very well-organized and easy to use.

**What do you dislike about LILT?**

The IT department is not helpful by design. It is unclear when I should ask for help from IT and when I should directly contact PMs. When I submit a ticket, their TAT is kind of slow (more than 24 hours); in most cases, it is too late to deliver the work on time. In contrast, PMs responded very quickly and they can solve most of my issues.

Also, I do care about their new review procedure; it requires reviewers to click too many categories and slows me down to review. And I feel like these too many categories do not necessarily help translators to improve their translation.

**Recommendations to others considering LILT:**

I think Lilt is a great company to work with. Their assignment system is clear, streamlined, and organized. Unlike some agents that send the assignments to multiple linguists on a first-come-first-served basis, Lilt assigns the work to YOU (often after checking your availability). That way, you don't have to get tired of checking email, taking time to click the link, and only finding out that someone else already took the job.

PMs are very responsive and quick to answer questions. Since the company has PMs worldwide, even if a PM I work with for a specific assignment is off work, someone else responds to my urgent questions or requests.

**What problems is LILT solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lilt is great at streamlining the translation and review process, such as attaching references to the platform, so linguists do not have to go back past emails to look for attachments. It is easy to work with Lilt. Also, their Translation Memory, Term Base, and Translation suggestions are getting so much better.

  ### 16. Working for LILT & learning from their AI tool.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yonggi Gray A. | Freelance Translator from English to French, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 18, 2023

**What do you like best about LILT?**

Their Machine Translation software is perfect to verify if there is consistency in our Translation.

I also enjoy the Q&A session for proofreading.

The verification process before we complete a task is good for review.

**What do you dislike about LILT?**

I don't like some little issues related to the AI process verification... It doesn't allow the Translators to review as a human the whole content.

This week particularly, I received an assignment but I saw some bad Translation made by someone else or AI tool in the platform.

When we tried to correct it, it reappear and sometimes refuse to accept corrections.

**Recommendations to others considering LILT:**

If you want to get a translation of quality in any level... Do not hesitate to contact their team... They like the clients by providing one of the best professional services in translation of any languages. Their software is also a good helper for the professional Translators.

**What problems is LILT solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Their translation platform is very user friendly for Translators.
Their AI tool saves time as well.

It helps to keep consistency in the same sentences.

  ### 17. Love to work with LILT's AI platform because it is incredibly state-of-the art and highly efficient

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Juan Antonio C. | Senior Translator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 26, 2024

**What do you like best about LILT?**

It allows me to translate/review text in a platform that features several tools at the same platform: contextual MT translation assisted by AI, Terminology, Translations memory management, Quality Assurance & Spelling compulsory automatic checks, Automatic segments populations...
The interface is very intuitive and easy to use, and one thing I really appreciate form LILT is that I can work from anywhere in the world with any computer, no need to instal anything.

**What do you dislike about LILT?**

The interface still need some improvements. I would like that we, the editors, could move the text by selecting it and dragging it to another position, for example.

**What problems is LILT solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In my view, LILT was the first company to combine MT, AI and contextual human translation in an interface which assures utmost quality and wholly human-like outputs, faster than most tools.

  ### 18. Happy to work with Lilt

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Victoria T. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 20, 2024

**What do you like best about LILT?**

Translation quality, managers are highly qualified

**What do you dislike about LILT?**

Luckily, I do not have anything to say here

**What problems is LILT solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LILT is helping our company to obtain quick, accurate translations to various languages made by native speakers. Urgent jobs are done in no time but it does not affect the quality. Well organized managers help handle jobs easily.

  ### 19. 4 years working for Lilt

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Translation and Localization | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 30, 2023

**What do you like best about LILT?**

Lilt is one of the more advanced MT systems I have worked on. The predictions consider the context and human input rather than relying solely on TB. I also use other MT platforms such as MemoQ. Comparatively, Lilt has a lot of advantage which will only get even better with more data added daily from a variety of projects.

**What do you dislike about LILT?**

1. The batch QA for Chinese languages highlight a lot of irrelevant warnings, for example:
a. target is shorter than source (these warnings are mostly unnecessary as Chinese is a more concise language.)
b. in some projects, no match found for a source phrase due to capitalisation (these warnings are mostly redundant as Chinese is never capitalised.)
c. suggestions for replacing certain characters or using certain expressions e.g. 地 for 的 or vice versa, 量词, number matches (I find most suggestions not very useful)
d. missing white spaces around characters (Full-width punctuation marks are used in Chinese writing therefore no need to use spaces, therefore these warnings are unnecessary.)

I hope this can be improved going forward so that the QA stage can become more efficient for Chinese.

2. Concordance search returns a varied result. TB update should be done more regularly and should aim to rank by the latest client's feedbacks a lot more clearly. I often find inconsistent translations in concordance searches which slow me down. I need to examine all the results that come up to identify the more consistent term, and sometimes still unsure which one to use.

3. Sometimes the revision report shows no data when I click open it from the email. I am not sure if this is because the project has been delivered. I think revision reports should remain available for at least a week for translators so that they have more time to go through it and improve their translation quality based on the feedback.

4. I really appreciate the efforts made in improving payment transparency, however, I still find it difficult to track payments for certain ongoing projects that take a long time to deliver. The payment stub still remains quite technical looking rather than showing information clearly across delivered projects and the time periods. I believe a breakdown with more detailed information about payments can be really helpful.

**Recommendations to others considering LILT:**

Advanced machine translation capacity, friendly user interface and super easy to navigate - highly recommended!

Translators benefit greatly from Lilt's advanced technology. Once a project is established the translation process is very efficient and translators can focus more on style and creativity. I enjoy working with my project managers who are all very communicative, helpful and flexible!

**What problems is LILT solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lilt has been improving its MT platofrm which is user-friendly and makes my job much more efficient. I can translate more words per day and work across different fields and become more knowledgeable. I feel empowered by Lilt.

  ### 20. I recommend Lilt for freelancers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hyekyung L. | Freelance Korean Translator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 22, 2024

**What do you like best about LILT?**

Transparent work process, interesting project/client

**What do you dislike about LILT?**

I get emails from PMs looking for someone to take small work for a short deadline. It is sometimes very small work, less than 100 words. It takes time for me to learn about the project but I ended up getting less than $5.

**Recommendations to others considering LILT:**

Lilt is great for freelancers. The platform is easy to use. I had many interesting projects.

**What problems is LILT solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Each translation project requires different amount of work because the level of difficulty is vary. Sometimes it is hard to judge per word or per minute price. Thanks to per hour pricing, Lilt allows me to invest enough time for the project that I committed.

  ### 21. Lilt review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tseveenkhuu D. | Freelance Translator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 22, 2024

**What do you like best about LILT?**

Job allocation is easy. PMs are very friendly and easy to work with. Feedbacks and queries are always answered.

**What do you dislike about LILT?**

Job platform is a bit of a learning curve. It's not easy to navigate to the certain functions, including payment sections. For example, it's not possible to check your service rate by yourself and you have to contact the accounting team in that regard. That's a bit of a work.

**What problems is LILT solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lilt is collaborating some of the most famous tech companies for a translation and localization projects. Both as a translator and a user, I believe Lilt's collaboration will be extremely helpful for the local users, who don't always communicate in English.

  ### 22. Average Company with Ongoing workload but mid-low rates for Spain

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rubén M. | Freelance Translator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 22, 2024

**What do you like best about LILT?**

They are quick, professional and offer a steady workload.

**What do you dislike about LILT?**

Lilt was a great LSP until they revised their processes and forced me to lower my rates in a HUGE manner. No negotiation, no consideration for quality (I worked more than 3 years with them on a weekly basis).
By telephone and by mail, they explicitly said my quality was far above the average and I was a loved linguist, but they couldn't work with my rates anymore and they should lower or leave. No room for negotiation or for any other solution.

**Recommendations to others considering LILT:**

If you are on a mid-low incomes level (beginning your career or similar), that's your place!

**What problems is LILT solving and how is that benefiting you?**

N/A

  ### 23. Working as a translator for Lilt.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dirk V. | Incoming Tour Agent and Guide & Translator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 27, 2024

**What do you like best about LILT?**

I like the online tool and especially the support of the Lilt team to clarify and solve any kind of issue that could appear during the translation jobs.

**What do you dislike about LILT?**

The fact that I receive sometimes job offerings through automatic service assignment emails without any contact of one of the team members to know if I have availability and to give more details about the job.

**Recommendations to others considering LILT:**

As a translator, I recommend working for Lilt as they have an excellent tool and supporting team.

**What problems is LILT solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I work as a translator and reviewer for Lilt using their online tool that gives very good assistance for better quality translations and efficiency.

  ### 24. Translation, streamlined.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Umut K. | lnternational Business Development - NATO Key Account, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2023

**What do you like best about LILT?**

The reaction time from the staff for any issue.

**What do you dislike about LILT?**

The lack of a mobile version and an offline translation/TM capability where translators can work in batches while off-grid, and submit when back online.

**Recommendations to others considering LILT:**

The services team is constantly working on improving the translations, occasionally deploying translators for second, third and fourth iterations for a job. Customers should be demanding the best out of the staff, because that is what they are capable of.

**What problems is LILT solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lilt provides efficient, accurate and contemporary translation services for its customers, while presenting and constantly developing a stable platform for translators to work on multiple projects with ease of use.

  ### 25. Great jobs provider

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Liliana I. | Sworn Translator and interpreter English-Romanian, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 27, 2024

**What do you like best about LILT?**

The platform is very intuitive and easy to use. One can visualize the progress and the expected payment for the job online. The payments are always made on the date displayed.

**What do you dislike about LILT?**

The payment rhythm has slowed down. Lilt used to pay weekly. The current policy is to pay upon the delivery of the whole project, which usually depends on multiple factors. Also, there are not so many jobs provided by Lilt.

**Recommendations to others considering LILT:**

You can expect well-paid jobs as a translator or reviewer, even though there are not so many. There are never problems concerning the payments.

**What problems is LILT solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lilt provides me with well-paid translation/review jobs.

  ### 26. Lilt saves me quite a bit of time.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** João F. | Tradutor Free-Lance, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 22, 2024

**What do you like best about LILT?**

Lilt is a fast and reliable CAT tool with commands that are pretty intuitive for anyone that's been a translator long enough.

**What do you dislike about LILT?**

Sometimes, there are interface issues, in which the screen freezes for a moment. They may or not be related to my browser.

**Recommendations to others considering LILT:**

I have mostly delved into third-party employers having me work with Lilt, but I have no real complaint. It's a good resource to have and better than most.

**What problems is LILT solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lilt helps with the workflow by having a TM that is fairly easy to access, and the procedure to use and add expressions to the termbase is pretty straightforward.

  ### 27. Improvements after a bumpy start

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Birgit N. | Translator (independent contractor), Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 23, 2023

**What do you like best about LILT?**

Some interesting work. Usually very nice, responsive project managers. The tech support staff seems to be very responsive and helpful. The product improvements have been amazing.

**What do you dislike about LILT?**

The fact that they pay so little, and are so averse to paying their top (human) translators more, and refuse to pay for weekend or evening work. Plus, of course, no real bonuses, no pay increase. The Payment and Talent departments in particular have been a nightmare - unresponsive, rude, arrogant, dismissive. One time, I asked for more pay and was told I didn't produce enough. What am I? A machine? A monkey? A slave? Either you respect my experience, my expertise and the decades I've worked as a linguist, and you pay me accordingly. Or... well, I am a slave, unfortunately. And sadly because of Lilt. And Lilt knows it. They are partially responsible why my income has plummeted.

Past experiences have been lack of transparency into Lilt's payment practices. Even tho that has improved, it is still far too accommodating to clients, and not translators. We have to await payment until the client approves and Lilt processes.

**Recommendations to others considering LILT:**

Don't rely on them as your only source of income. Be thorough, and pay attention. Just because a machine spews out the translation doesn't mean this is easy and you should accept everything it throws your way.

**What problems is LILT solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is making it easier for companies to produce localized text fast. The AI fueled machine translation that Lilt provides has come a long way. The pace of its improvement is astonishing. It is not really benefitting me because it has taken my work from me. The clients that used my services prior to Lilt paid a living wage, I was never wealthy or even well-paid but I could make a living. The fact that I can work faster thanks to Lilt doesn't make up for the difference because clients are simply not hiring translators any more. And many don't even care about the quality of the translation since AI translation is so much better than it used to be.

  ### 28. High Professional, Sooth Communication, Straightfoward Style

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sunyoung H. | English Korean Translator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 02, 2024

**What do you like best about LILT?**

Super friendly & professional PMs, and generous deadlines.

**What do you dislike about LILT?**

There's not much...Resources & references are spread everywhere, which often makes me struggle.

**Recommendations to others considering LILT:**

Lilt is one of the best companies to work with out there. Deadlines are manageable and each project has a well-organized workflow.

**What problems is LILT solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They put a lot of care into each project to make everything efficient and clear.
Also, I love their feedback spreadsheet. It's always specific and constructive.
I check it sometimes to see what other translators & reviewers think about some details.

  ### 29. Lilt uses a highly experienced people with the developed AI Machine Translations.

  ### 30. Great localization partner

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Security and Investigations | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 21, 2024

**What do you like best about LILT?**

Our project manager is very good at communication, and our frequent meetings are productive and transparent.

**What do you dislike about LILT?**

We sometimes have technological issues between the Lilt connector and our translation platform, but we've mostly ironed those out and things are running smoothly now.

**Recommendations to others considering LILT:**

The team is dedicated to quality and are willing to work with you to make sure errors are fixed and that the process can run smoothly.

**What problems is LILT solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We started with Lilt as we were interested in their more intuitive translation process, and wanted to use it in our Japanese and Korean translations since translating to these languages had been a bit problematic. With Lilt we were able to iron out the errors and obtain a much smoother translation process for these languages.

  ### 31. Should add more payment methods

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Translation and Localization | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 22, 2024

**What do you like best about LILT?**

1) Automated assigning process is good.
2) Quick payment

**What do you dislike about LILT?**

1) I don't like that they only use Payoneer for payment, and Payoneer is charging an annual fee for payment under a certain amount.
2) It's not easy to view the status of a project (whether it's delivered/reviewed or not).
3) Hard to utilize the TM (I have to copy it manually to the box).
4) Cannot merge segments, because sometimes we cannot follow the same word order as in English for zh-HK. This will sound unnatural.
5) No context provided for the project.

**Recommendations to others considering LILT:**

A reliable platform for freelancers

**What problems is LILT solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They try to automate the project assigning process. This can save a lot of email communications and is efficient.

  ### 32. My preferred work giver!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michelle C. | Translator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 22, 2024

**What do you like best about LILT?**

The care with which professionals are heard and treated. The varied types of clients make work exciting and dynamic.

**What do you dislike about LILT?**

After quite a few years and given Lilt's size, I believe seniority and quality results should be rewarded.

**Recommendations to others considering LILT:**

Applying for Lilt is hard because the level of expectation is high, but it's worth giving your best!

**What problems is LILT solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lilt keeps PMs and colleagues quite close to one another, making freelance professionals feel part of a community and not an isolated island.

  ### 33. LILT - my most reliable supplier

  ### 34. It used to be great!

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ivanna C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 18, 2023

**What do you like best about LILT?**

Lilt works with many companies from different industries, and this gives the linguist a sense of purpose. Also, Lilt demands their clients to submit all the necessary information for the linguist to work on the translation/revision with high quality and efficiency. The times set for each job are very well planned.

**What do you dislike about LILT?**

When I joined Lilt (Jan. 2020), I had a good work load and was really happy working here. I prefer to dedicate my work to one or two good service providers. I have more than 15 years experience as a scientific-technical translator and interpreter. At the beginning of 2023 I was contacted by Lilt to tell me that they had to lower my rate although I was a top performer. I understood because I was aware that the war in Ucraine had hurt the market in many industries. After that, I stopped receiving job assigments probably to less than 10% of what I had been working for three years.

PMs were really great —most of them have left Lilt—, so the quality of the relation has gone South.

Communication channels (we used to use Slack) were closed. I did see an avalanche of negative comments from linguists that were very rude, which I definitely disapproved, but that made that all channels were shut down.

**Recommendations to others considering LILT:**

Lilt is a high-quality company, but you should understand the business model for linguists.

**What problems is LILT solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was very proud to work for a service provider who was a pioneer on using AI for supporting translators, as this is the future, yet setting the linguists at the centre.

  ### 35. A good experience

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Writing and Editing | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 22, 2024

**What do you like best about LILT?**

It's very easy to use and it feels like the research and tech teams care about improving the platform to really suit the translator's needs.

**What do you dislike about LILT?**

Response time could be quicker when emailing support. Even though I noted myself as unavailable on the platform recently, I have still been receiving job notifications.

**Recommendations to others considering LILT:**

Take your time to learn the platform and procedures. I'm sure it's wonderful once you know the ropes, but it does feel overwhelming as a newbie.

**What problems is LILT solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For a translator, they provide a streamlined translating platform that seems to do the job efficiently. They seem to be on the ball with regards to troubleshooting issues and improving the interface.

  ### 36. Great Translation Company With Quick Turnaround Times

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2024

**What do you like best about LILT?**

Lilt acts quickly and communicates openly if they ever have questions about the content that is submitted for translation.

**What do you dislike about LILT?**

Some pieces of content are very similar that we get translated every few months for different campaigns. There are sometimes small discrepancies for some translations, but whenever they are flagged, the Lilt team is quick to provide reasoning and/or solve any confusion.

**What problems is LILT solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lilt is easy to use and is a great tool to translate and localize our marketing content.

  ### 37. Flexible work hours

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

It gives ample TAT and we as translators have time to review our work. Added to this, we get instant (in most of the cases) response from the team.

**What do you dislike about LILT?**

I request Lilt to give breakup of work while makig payments. Payments are getting delayed for unknown reason. I did not receive payment for the month of January 2024 sofar.

**What problems is LILT solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Flexibility, ontime payment

  ### 38. Poor strategy, undervalues people as resources

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Translation and Localization | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 25, 2024

**What do you like best about LILT?**

Remote employment, in theory. In practice, not so much.

**What do you dislike about LILT?**

Management underestimates and so undervalues people's linguistic skill and capability, pigeonholing (potential) employees. Being mainly, I assume, monolingual. they have made too many assumptions, even misconstruing localization as true translation. They restrict employees to unidirectional translation only, not seeming to understand bilingualism or trilingualism, etc., even exists. They have moved into the translation space only recently and do not really understand it, much less appreciate its specialists' capabilities, and so undervalue them.

**Recommendations to others considering LILT:**

Avoid until management practices evolve.

**What problems is LILT solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lilt is applying AI to auto-translation. Can benefit travellers.
