What do you like best about Lightdash?

It's similar to Looker but open source and even the cloud offering is much more reasonably priced.

If you are using DBT, it integrates much better with Lightdash configurations living in the same repo as DBT. This removes a major source of headache keeping two repos in sync. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Lightdash?

It's still a relatively new tool so many nice to have features are not there or involve complex workaround. e.g. it's easy to build stacked bar charts but converting it to a stacked % chart is not easy.

The team are releasing changes at a fast pace though so expect these to be fixed in the near future. At that point, I feel there will be little reason to pick a tool like Looker over Lightdash Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Lightdash solving and how is that benefiting you?

It allows charts to build off data in our data warehouse. Each time they are viewed they are automatically refreshed.

These charts can also be built by non-technical people allowing for self serve analytics Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Lightdash?

- comprehensive documentation + support from the team from implementation to day-to-day use! spoiled with the rate of reply from the LD team

- fantastic for lean teams as it keeps Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Lightdash?

- the tool is still relatively nascent so some visualizations and complex analyses are not yet available, but the team has been incredible in adding to their product road map as a direct response to user requests!

- does not cache Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Lightdash solving and how is that benefiting you?

We use LD as our primary UI for business stakeholders to receive metrics and data to make better informed decisions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Lightdash solving and how is that benefiting you?

Lightdash solves the problem of having too many places to define our analytics (metrics / dimensions etc.). They work so well with DBT and help streamline a lot of our definitions.
