The initial challenge was getting up to speed with all the features and capabilities the tool offers, as it's different in many ways from a traditional SAM tool. It took a bit of getting used to, but now we're familiar with and enjoy the new workflow.

Licenseware supports licence management for a small number of vendors really well. It simplifies the management of the more difficult vendors like Microsoft and Oracle but doesn't have the same breadth of coverage as other competitive products. I prefer the Licenseware approach as the difficult vendors which are covered represent most of the cost and complexity and the vendors which are not covered are typically fairly easy to manage without a product. The myrid of different data sources Licenseware can ingest and provide deep analysis of is very impressive and is continually growing. The tools available are great at ingesting data from many different sources meaning no matter where you can get data from you will get actionable results out of the tool to enable you to make informed decisions in both audit defence and risk mitigation arenas. Oracle Middleware is a bit trickier due to the bundled nature of all the products, and some cases where components get automatically installed and trigger a product when it's not even showing up as a true product. However - false positives are much better than false negatives when it comes to Oracle, so that's still not the worst thing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
