LibreOffice provides everything I need in an office suite - Plus, its native format converts directly to GoogleDocs format when I upload to my Google Drive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
LibreOffice doesn't do email or calendar... but I'm not sure it really needs to. Being open-source, the more responsible thing is to sidle up to other FOSS respectables who are already doing a good job. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The fact that LibreCalc can handle literally a million datasets and is needing no extraordinary hardware to do that. With other office tools I had serious problems like crashes or an extraordinary long waiting time when working with such a big database. And of course it is free forever. And although its free the support is very good especially the healthy community around the tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Working with this program is very fast but starting several files sometimes needs a lot of time. The other point is my subjective opinion. It costed me a lot of time to learn all the features that are different from other office tools, but the classes offered by Libre helped a lot. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The package offers everything you need in an office package and is compatible with most forms of document, including Microsoft Office documents which makes editing a breeze and it's extremely simple and intuitive to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I use my word processor primarily for writing fiction and editing books, particularly for novel writing for ebook publishing and manuscript formatting. Unfortunately the native formatting does not easily strip and can cause errors when trying to upload to KDP. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It's free and does a decent job replacing MS Office. Above this, It also manages other open document formats. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It can be slow, especially with PowerPoint files. Also, formatting might not be mirrored exactly when re-opening files in Word, for example. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The price and the knowledge that in using LibreOffice I'm actually supporting the open source movement! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
As an open sourced solution there are definitely intricacies and some quirky features, where perhaps things are not as streamlined as Microsoft Office, but if you learn how the platform works, you can quickly find that you can do everything you require. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The interactive coding system is one of the nicest feature that the LibreOffice package offers. I use it nearly everyday. Also they have courses for new users wchich are really nice and offer the basic knowledge you need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Calc and most of the programs are very stable but when using the Math-tool I experienced several crashes and unstable situations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I've been using LibreOffice for many years and donate to the cause. LibreOffice is a very clean and easy to work with program. Works seamlessly with any .docx or .xlsx files. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is nothing within LibreOffice that I've discovered I dislike. Highly recommend it! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's free! Very powerful software considering the price tag. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The "Draw" module is abysmal. Excel files don't always import or export correctly Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The software literally has every functionality that i need. Almost replicates microsoft office, minus the licensing. Extremely helpful to save down coats. For a fresher, using and learning libre office is easier than Microsoft word, as word had loads of features that are unnecessary for a newbie .
Its a great way to save costs on licensing when basic features are required such as viewing and sending .XLS/.DOC files which do not use highly specialized or complex functionalities.
Even otherwise, this application allows you to do more than what your role might require. Early in my career, i used to use the drag functionality to create SQL queries for thousands of records on LibreOffice. Since the project was on a budget, LibreOffice was a great cost saver, and easy to license . Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
support for less types of files is a major challenge that i face. Also, it is not used at a lot of places and conversion between word and libre office does affect how it shows on screen.
Also, LibreOffice can promote its free product, its definitely an amazing product which is highly underrated.
The UI can be improved to make the product look more enterprise, which currently looks more scientific and packed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
