LibreOffice keeps up with all my needs as well or better than other office software I have used; offers upgrades regularly and is free! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Once in a while I encounter a Microsoft document it will not open ....but from what I have read that is largely because Microsoft sometimes uses non-standard formats. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The fact that LibreCalc can handle literally a million datasets and does not need extraordinary hardware to do so. With other office tools, I had serious problems like crashes or extraordinary wait times while working with such a large database. And of course, it is free forever. And although it is free, the support is very good, especially the healthy community around the tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Working with this program is very fast, but the startup of several files sometimes takes a lot of time. The other point is my subjective opinion. It took me a long time to learn all the features that are different from other office tools, but the classes offered for free helped a lot. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like that it is free to use which makes it a fantastic alternative for office based software. Works perfectly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What I like most about LibreOffice is its practicality, you have all the software you need in one package (text editor, spreadsheets, presentations, and database). One of the main reasons to choose LibreOffice is that it is a free and open-source program that is constantly updated, so there is no need to pay a lot to get a good office package with all the features you need. LibreOffice Draw is capable of editing PDF documents, which is very useful for filling out forms. One of the features I like the most is the ability to sign documents with digital certificates, this function is not usually available in most office solutions. The last thing I like about LibreOffice is the interface layout, at first it's difficult to get used to because the menus are not organized intuitively. It is also a bit confusing to navigate through the configuration menus. The main disadvantage of using LibreOffice is that it is not fully compatible with Microsoft Office, this is a reason why most companies use Microsoft Office. LibreOffice is a simple, lightweight, cross-platform and open source office suite with an intuitive interface and powerful tools that improve productivity. It is available for different operating systems and architectures.
LibreOffice incorporates several applications, Writer, the word processor, Calc the spreadsheet, Impress presentation editor, Math for mathematical formula editing, Draw which is a drawing application and flow diagrams and Base, the database e interface with other databases. In addition, Writer also works as a design program: it allows you to make texts, create interiors of books and magazines. It also greatly improved the compatibility with the Microsoft Office suite.
LibreOffice is customizable, for example, The interface of the context menu for dynamic tables is very simple, then from Tools> Customize, you can add the options of Data: Show details, Hide details, Group and Ungroup and already have a more manageable dynamic table, almost as much as in Excel. libreOffice exports in ePub, XHTML, MediaWiki and in image format. In my opinion, one of the most important features LibreOffice is the number of extensions it has, which adds more specific features, templates, and powerful mechanisms according to the needs of users. As for OpenPGP keys, they can be used to sign documents on all desktop platforms (with experimental encryption support), it is noteworthy that it has a large community that supports it and an improved documentation Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
LibreOffice 6 base has presented some errors with the conversion from hsqldb to firebird, if there is a table view with a calculated field gives an error. There is no editing mode as queries nor editing in sql mode. Although LibreOffice is heading to be one of the best suites for its versatility, it can not be ignored that the Microsoft Office suite has a large part of the market and functions that are not yet supported by this application Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Ease of use, even for those with 0 knowledge of the LibreSuite it's like word used to be visual easy to figure out, and there is loads of help online for when you need it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The way that numerous files are kept in exclusive arrangements and were made by office suites that don't accentuate appropriate use of organizing styles and formats makes it hard to correctly reproduce the first appearance and conduct of imported documents Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

LibreOffice is able to open all kinds of documents, even of versions of competitors’ suites no longer supported by vendors, as well as corrupted documents the original suites will not touch.
It also emphasizes document organization far more than the competition, facilitating well-formed, predictable document development, even for very extensive & complex files.
Installation is much better contained, minimising the risk of ‘DLL hell’. In free operating systems, it is usually integrated into the operating system installation, activated by a a simple checkbox or command. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is nothing to dislike in LibreOffice itself, but the fact that many documents are kept in proprietary formats and were created by office suites that do not emphasize proper usage of formatting styles & templates makes it difficult to precisely replicate the original appearance and behaviour of imported files. Usually cleaning the document (for example, getting rid of Active X controls and converting direct formatting to styles) solves the problem nicely. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
LibreOffice can open a wide range of reports, even of adaptations of contenders' suites never again upheld by sellers, and in addition adulterated archives the first suites won't contact.
It additionally underlines record association significantly more than the opposition, encouraging all around shaped, unsurprising archive advancement, notwithstanding for exceptionally broad and complex documents.
Establishment is greatly improved contained, limiting the danger of 'DLL damnation'. In free working frameworks, it is normally incorporated into the working framework establishment, enacted by an a basic checkbox or order. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is nothing to loathe in LibreOffice itself, yet the way that numerous archives are kept in exclusive configurations and were made by office suites that don't underline appropriate use of organizing styles and layouts makes it hard to definitely imitate the first appearance and conduct of imported records.
