What do you like best about LibreOffice?

The backward compatibility with new or old MS Office file types, the range of tasks that can be completed, and the fact that it is completely free. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about LibreOffice?

The minor compatibility issues with the more advanced features of MS Office, the layout and UI have a bit to be desired. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering LibreOffice:

Even though this software will mostly replace MS Office 365 you will find that it has some minor compatibility issues, some of which can be easily remedied, and others that will be a waste of time.

This is an amazing software but do your research to know if it right for you or your company. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about LibreOffice?

My company switched from paying for Excel and Word (and the rest of the office suite) to using the (FREE!) Libre Office package. It has most of the features of Excel and Word. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about LibreOffice?

It seems to crash a lot. It lacks some of the functionality of Excel. We can never get anything with Macros to work. In Libre Writer, there is no way to add more pages to labels with a simple click. All of the buttons are in different places than their Microsoft Office equivalents so navigating takes some getting used to. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is LibreOffice solving and how is that benefiting you?

It has saved us a lot of money vs paying for the Microsoft Office Suite. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about LibreOffice?

I love that Libre is a free platform that compares, quite well I might add, to the Expensive Microsoft alternatives. Libre is a strong application that does everything you could ever need, and does it well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about LibreOffice?

Sometimes the stability is iffy. I have had issues with Writer not loading documents with embedded fonts. This is a problem since, as an author, I may have to embed fonts in my documents. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering LibreOffice:

The support has issues, as it's FOSS, and the community is a bit toxic. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is LibreOffice solving and how is that benefiting you?

I need to write my novels, and I need an application to do that in. Libre has it all. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about LibreOffice?

I like that it can generate files with formats that are compatible with other popular office suites like Microsoft Office. There are many templates available to me for the text editor and presentation program. Being available in various operation systems like Windows and Mac makes it versatile and easy to access across different offices and computers. Whenever I have uses using certain features, it's easy for me to find articles and message board posts with tips and solutions. LibreOffice's spreadsheet application Calc works very smoothly with formulas written in other software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about LibreOffice?

Though I feel it has many of the capabilities I need to write and edit common office documents, I don't it's at the same level as Microsoft Office. It can be hard to make the adjustment to LibreOffice if you're used the layout and functionality of Microsoft Office or another similar software. Also, LibreOffice doesn't have the same amount of applications that Microsoft Office has. There is no email client or note taking program. Though compatibility is generally good, there are times when certain files don't open in LibreOffice. It can be hit or miss at times. Finally, the formatting doesn't always match up precisely with the way things looked in the program a file was created with. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering LibreOffice:

I would recommend LibreOffice as a low cost and relatively effective office document suite. I think you'll be able to create many common office documents like text documents and spreadsheets with relative ease. If you're looking for the highest level of flexibility and capabilities, then LibreOffice is probably not the best choice. It would probably be safer to use Microsoft Office. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is LibreOffice solving and how is that benefiting you?

I use LibreOffice to write and edit business documents, spreadsheets and presentations. I wanted to be able to use an office suite that was regularly updated and maintained by developers. LibreOffice allows me to create documents that are versatile with other office applications, which is great since we work with many vendors and other third-party companies that may use other office software. Transitioning to LibreOffice has been smooth for most people that used other software. It's been a great way for us to keep our costs down and have the software available on multiple platforms. What do you like best about LibreOffice?

Ease of access, ability to open writer, calc, draw, impress, math just like Microsoft word. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about LibreOffice?

I was taught on Microsoft software all throughout school so the functions and such are very similar its just sometimes when formulating a document it can be a bit confusing at time for functions and tabs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering LibreOffice:

I would stick to Microsoft Word Excel etc... if applicable if not then Libre Office is a great substitution for that particular software which delivers almost the same end product as Microsoft. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is LibreOffice solving and how is that benefiting you?

Creating spreadsheets, keeping track of Cash/Check/Credit Card deposits. Writing papers and necessary documents for work related processes. Being able to use draw similar to paint for coming up with graphic designs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It's one of the best documents editing software which is free. I would say its better than Microsoft Word in some ways.

Recently, I was using the free version of Kingsoft Writer for editing documents but had no feature to give references.

I had to write it on my own, but after finding the Libre Office, It solved my problem. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about LibreOffice?

Its User Interface is not very familiar like other documents editing software, I find it little hard to work on this software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I am a student and a freelancer, I use documents editing software like Kingsoft Office, but the problem I encountered with was
