First of all its free. Next all the capabilities of the MS office are there. You can export your document as EPUB and PDF format and many other format such as PNG, JPEG etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is no easy direct sharing among the friends and colleague for the collaboration as in MS office. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The fact it is free and easy to use. The interface is much simplier than MS Office and for the average user is a big advantage Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some advamced features are not supported and the graphical look os some old style. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have been using Libreoffice since I started my PhD, during this time I used LibreOffice writer, calc and presentation for my works in which I have had great results without noticing at any time that I needed any option that was not present in the application.
The application has greatly improved its level since then and today has hardly any difference in performance and efficiency in Writer so it is possible to use this open source and free alternative to create text documents or extensive projects for business work, as well as Memorandum or other types of documents. It is also possible to write letters, presentations and any other paper format such as A4, A3, A7 or custom formats required by the user. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Within the office suite there are several programs so it is very difficult for someone to not have problems or a bug but in general the result is very good, except Base.
Sadly Base gives many problems and is not completely compatible with its counterpart in Microsoft Office so it is not possible to import databases. In addition, its speed in queries is not very high and when we work with extensive databases it is best to resort to a different alternative such as a database server in MySQL. It includes the main tools we normally use, that is, a text editor and spreadsheets. Its download and use are completely free, which makes it a very useful tool when we don't want to invest money in software or want to use it at specific times. Regarding the text editor and spreadsheets, it brings the most common tools, although it doesn't have as many as we find in Microsoft's Office, for example. In another sense, what it offers is more than enough considering it is free software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some tools are missing, perhaps a bit more stability and also a graphical improvement, as it seems a bit outdated. It is true that not much can be demanded since they are in full development, it is relatively new in time, but it must improve a lot to be a serious alternative. The best thing about LibreOffice is that it is an open source and totally free ofimatic suite that rivals Microsoft's being paid. As an office suite it is very professional and can even compete with the google suite. Provides word processor (writer), excel (calc), draw, impress (powerpoint) and base.
This office suite works natively on any platform or operating system such as Windows, Linux or MAC. The results in their different versions are identical.
The applications that make up this office suite are very stable and with a very low resource consumption. In addition the graphical interface has been improved to look better visually. With writer and calc we will cover the majority of our professional needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
- LibreOffice Base I found that it is not at the level of the rest of the office suite, much less its competitor in MS, frankly I am disappointed
- The icons are not uniform in all the applications, some even have different sizes and this problem has been dragged since several versions.
- Although Draw was very useful to me, it gave me some problems to edit PDF files in which when importing it created a large amount of elements that affected the computer creating an unbearable lag. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I started using LibreOffice while I was studying at school, so I have not used other office alternatives to compare, so I will do my evaluation of the application based on my experiences, first LibreOffice is an office suite that includes word processor, excel, databases (simple), slides and presentations.
Professionally I have also used the application and I have never felt the need to install an alternative because this application lacked options. If it is true that the learning curve of the application is quite high for inexperienced users.
Technically the application works in a stable way and although sometimes it may crash, due to some computer failure, the LibreOffice itself or power outages, the application has a very useful data recovery tool that prevents you from losing information even if you have not saved your progress Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
As every LibreOffice application also has negative aspects, in my opinion they are:
- Graphic interface, specifically the theme of the icons, the icons are too inconsistent and do not keep a uniformity with each other, some are larger than others and most do not describe well the represented tool.
- Macros, definitely the learning curve is something to take into account when you use this tool but it gives the feeling that you could strive to make something simpler this section. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Good thing about libre is that it is free of cost. It can be used to cut the cost and invest the money somewhere else. The basic features are good but detailing us missing so i would say if you’re looking for something for free on then go for it Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I faced a lot of issues form the very beginning of using this product.Syncing data was a tough job . It becomes very difficult to use if we need tables and other features to be used .Compatability with other applications is also not very easy. The basic features like copy / paste can guve you a headache at times ,but since its free you can give it a try. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

1. LibreOffice is very lightweight, it is very fast to install and open.
2. It is available on both Windows and Ubuntu Linux OS.
3. It provides a variety of formats to which files and documents can be saved Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
1. It does not generalize well with other similar software. When loading a document prepared on another software, it totally destroys and disorganizes the formatting which is really annoying and frustrating. One has to spend a lot of time trying to modify.
2. It does not have enough templates compared to its competitors Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is a free software tool that allows us to work spreadsheets as well as documents, it is very versatile and above all it is free Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Only that it is a spreadsheet has no macro methods, everything else is impressive and very light and reliable Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
