What surprised me most about LibreOffice the first time I used it several years ago was that I had been paying an Office license when I could do the same thing for free and save money. Technically the application is very similar and although at a more advanced professional level is not up to the simplest tasks is a more than sufficient solution.
The default interface can be improved but fixing it is very simple since you only need to access the options menu and change the theme of the icons so that the visual aspect of the application improves considerably.
It also has support for many formats of other similar applications such as Microsoft Office, OpenOffice and other similar, in addition to the formats themselves. From LibreOffice we can continue modifying documents created with other applications without compatibility problems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Although the default interface does not quite convince me and it is possible to change it, we find another problem and that LibreOffice options are very chaotic in my opinion, finding the option we are looking for is very complicated because the task of changing the theme It can take several minutes until you find a way to do it. LibreOffice is an office application suite with a GPL license, free of charge. Being open-source, it is under constant review by its creators. It takes up little space, is easy to install, and consumes few resources. It includes a word processor, spreadsheet, presentation software, and databases. There is a version control system to record changes made by different users. Additional plugins can be installed, such as the converter to PDF format. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Among the biggest disadvantages is that it does not allow for the online collaborative work that is so necessary today. It cannot be shared on the internet.
The learning curve is moderate if you have never used it and are accustomed to Microsoft Office.
Base (the database manager included in the LibreOffice suite) is complicated to handle and is not as powerful as Access.
You may have compatibility issues with documents generated in Word, especially when there are many tables, headers, photos, footnotes, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The community based project has come a long way to be compete for the top spot in document editing tool. It is completely free and provides many great fonts. It can save many formats. It also provides good charts and the ability to connect to third party libraries is no secret. It works nicely on all the operating systems though is best for linux. It does not provide a mail editing client which can be added to it. It does not look premium though will sail through eventually. It does not saves data when it crashes. It still misses many features offered by ms office but we must remember it is free and is totally worth using it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
In short, it is free, easy to use, and powerful. Developed as open-source software by a team of programmers selflessly, it does not require the purchase of a license, unlike its competitors. In the latest update, the tool has improved a lot, especially in its interface, as it now has icons that integrate much better into the application and are more descriptive, allowing for greater harmonization with the operating system.
Regarding power, the leap the application has made in the latest versions is also surprising, especially in the word processor, as it incorporates many options that were not present before and were missing if we make a comparison with Microsoft Word. Currently, the application is compatible with different operating systems such as Windows, Linux, and MacOS. I personally use both Windows at work and Linux at home, and both versions work very well. Considering that the application allows you to select from several default icon themes, I don't understand how they selected by default the ugliest and worst integration they have with the application. These icons are not at all descriptive and give the impression that each icon corresponds to a different theme. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The first thing I like about LibreOffice is that all documents and software are on my local machine. I can use this software on my laptop when I'm not connected to the internet and it just works. The second thing I like about LibreOffice is that it is built with security in mind. It makes it easy to encrypt documents and integrates well. The third thing I like is that it works well with Microsoft Office documents and formats. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The thing I dislike is that more people are not using LibreOffice. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I began utilizing LibreOffice while I was learning at school, so I have not utilized other office choices to think about, so I will do my assessment of the application dependent on my encounters, first LibreOffice is an office suite that incorporates word processor, exceed expectations, databases (straightforward), slides and introductions.
Expertly I have additionally utilized the application and I have never wanted to introduce an option since this application needed choices. On the off chance that the facts demonstrate that the expectation to learn and adapt of the application is very high for unpracticed clients.
In fact the application works in a steady manner and albeit here and there it might crash, because of some PC disappointment, the LibreOffice itself or power blackouts, the application has a helpful information recuperation apparatus that keeps you from losing data regardless of whether you have not spared your advancement Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Still needs to improve numerous devices to achieve the dimension that has Microsoft office, it is likewise comprehended that being a free programming engineers live on gifts, while Microsoft Office has a huge spending plan for the advancement of their product. The expectation to absorb information isn't extremely quick, however LibreOffice offers courses to figure out how to deal with your product well. Also you can not share records through an online administration as on account of Google Drive and its document framework. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
