It allows to manage most of documentation usually you deal with during your work (or your free time) providing a well known standard de facto interface by repeating Office UI. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Is not fully compatible with the standard Office documents, so it can annoying you and can leads you to move to a more expensive solution.
If your needs is exchanging documents with customers that use standard Office documents, it can be a problem. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
First, I love that is a free alternative to Microsoft Office suite. It gives you ability to save documents to be able to share with other MS office users to view and edit. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
When I save a .odf document as a .pdf, it sometimes leaves thin lines on my document. Especially if you have a custom header or footer or graphic. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

During the time that I have used it, I have not had any failures, but it would be good for some domestic users to improve compatibility with Microsoft Office Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I like most about LibreOffice is that I can use a complete office suite with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc., for free and without losing the power of the Microsoft application, as in this aspect LibreOffice is very similar to Microsoft Office but without the additional cost of the license. Although it is true that in databases Microsoft is still far superior.
Personally, I use LibreOffice Writer and Calc mainly in my work, one of the strong points of LibreOffice is that it is capable of handling files created in Microsoft Office without modifying the extension as it fully supports files created in MS Office. Although it is advisable that if we are going to use LibreOffice, we do so under its own formats for security reasons.
Another important aspect from my point of view where LibreOffice has improved a lot is in its interface and icons, currently the default theme of the application has improved a lot and the icons it comes with by default are much more descriptive than before, in general the interface is now much cleaner and more intuitive. A negative aspect of LibreOffice is found in its database application, which after so much time has not managed to compete with Microsoft SQL (Access) in the business environment. Most applications of this type are written under the SQL standard, so we cannot use it under LibreOffice Base without compatibility issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

LibreOffice is the ideal solution for a company that does not want or cannot spend a lot of budget on expensive office software licenses, It is completely free and compatible with the most widely used market operating systems. easy to use and powerful. In the last update, the tool has improved a lot, especially in its interface, Includes word processor, spreadsheet, presentation software, and databases. It takes up little space, is easy to install and consumes few resources. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The worst thing about LibreOffice is that it does not support the way of collaborative work online, something very necessary today, and it also lacks the inclusion of an email manager as it does include its direct rival of Microsoft. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The main thing I like about this software is that I can use it on any operating system, be it windows, linux or mac. In the company we have computers with all three types of operating systems, and we can use the software with total comfort in any of the three models of equipment. It is normally used to write reports or important and relevant information for the company. I consider that the interface of this program is quite clear and perfectly implemented, which is easy to use. What really is not a cost, this is about the hands of any person, company or institution. A small disadvantage of this software compared to its main competence (Office) is that it does not have the functionality of macro programming, the user can be something quite important. Another disadvantage is the graphical interface, which is not completely taken care of but it is completely understandable given that it is free software and is focused on functionality and not on appearance. Finally, I consider that Base, which is the LibreOffice database manager, is not very powerful, it has an error and the Microsoft Access competition is much more efficient, and technical support is no better than can be expected. Despite this I consider it a great software to be free. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
LibreOffice is Open Source and free, it works on Windows, Linux and Mac, it can be used by anyone with easy access and installation.
LibreOffice is installed by default in many Linux distributions, by installing a Linux distribution you can start working immediately.
LibreOffice has most known programs in Microsoft Office, where you can be sure to work very well is free and you save a lot of money on licenses on many PCs, just log on to the official website and download the version compatible with your Operating System.
LibreOffice has a very large community, constantly supporting and aggravating functions, being Open Source you can correct the failures yourself, add functions and participate in the large community. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
LibreOffice does not integrate the conversion for PDF files, which you need an external application causing annoyance to users, when opening a Microsoft Office .doc file does not adapt well, having modifications to the file taking time to correct.
When opening several files of LibreOffice in Linux sometimes it gets slow or gives error, closing unexpectedly generating frustrations and taking time away from the user. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I like most about this application is that it does not require expensive licenses to be able to make use of the application, so it is an excellent alternative to use in our home, in academic environments and even in work in a professional manner. LibreOffice has improved a lot in this last one, so much so that the application in which tasks is equal to or better than Microsoft Office.
One of the parts that has improved LibreOffice most are the macros now run much faster and its language has been improved so that it is easier to understand by users, this is really useful for LibreOffice Calc where macros are a fundamental part in advanced spreadsheets.
The technical support of the application has improved from the hands of the community too and now the doubts are solved much faster if we access the forum of the application where moderators and users are always willing to help us. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I do not like about the application is that it does not allow changing the skin so that it can be changed from "light" to a "dark" theme, which personally seems much more useful when working for a long time since my eyes are usually tired when I visualize the screen in bright colors for a long time. It includes several applications which come free and it's one of the open source suit on the market. It provides writer, calc , impress and Draw like options. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Personally, I use both Windows at work and Linux in my house and the versions work very well. In turn, I use the LibreOffice writer to write my blogs and book reviews, and this tool helps me a lot in the modification and spell checking. In addition, the program interface is very clear and is very well implemented, which facilitates its use.
I also like that it is possible to write letters, presentations and any other paper format, such as A4, A3, A7 or custom formats that the user requires and that works well in all operating systems, although it is better for Linux. In addition, the interface has improved a lot, it is at the level of competence as Microsoft Office. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
LibreOffice has certain negative aspects that in my opinion are:
It seems to me that the graphical interface can be improved, especially the theme of the icons, the icons are too irregular and do not remain uniform with each other, some are larger than others and most do not describe the represented tool well. Another aspect that I consider a disadvantage is the database manager included in the LibreOffice solution is complicated to manage and is not as powerful as Microsoft Office Access.
