The product was disappointing, but the contracting and billing experience has been worse.
I subscribed to Lexis+ AI as a solo/small-firm attorney. My review reflects both my experience using the product and my experience with the subscription, billing, and customer service surrounding it.
Prospective solo and small-firm lawyers should read the Lexis+ AI agreement extremely carefully before signing, particularly the provisions concerning the “Committed Term,” automatic recurring payments, dispute deadlines, arbitration, and what LexisNexis considers a “Renewal Term.”
I provided written notice in December 2025 that I did not wish to continue the subscription and specifically requested that recurring billing cease. A dispute subsequently arose over LexisNexis's position that I remained contractually committed through January 2027. I have repeatedly disputed the charges, but LexisNexis has continued billing my payment method while maintaining its interpretation of the agreement.
I disagree with that position and am pursuing the dispute through appropriate channels. Regardless of who ultimately prevails on the contractual issue, the experience has been sufficiently frustrating that I would strongly encourage prospective customers—particularly solo and small-firm attorneys—to understand exactly how long LexisNexis believes they are committing themselves before signing.
