What I like most about Leo AI is that it helps turn a lot of slow, manual engineering work into a much faster and more efficient process. It is especially valuable when engineers need quick access to relevant knowledge without digging through endless files or relying on memory. The product feels purpose-built for technical teams, and that makes a big difference in how useful it is day to day.

**What do you dislike about Leo?**

The main downside is that once you start using it, you want even broader coverage across more engineering use cases and workflows. But that also reflects the value it already brings and the potential ahead.

**What problems is Leo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

**What do you like best about Leo?**

What I like best about Leo AI is how much time it saves our team on work that used to be unnecessarily manual and fragmented. Instead of digging through old files, internal knowledge, and technical sources, engineers can get relevant guidance much faster. It is also clear that Leo was built with a real understanding of engineering workflows, which makes the product feel much more useful than a general AI tool.

As with any ambitious product, there is still room to deepen certain capabilities and make parts of the workflow even more seamless. But what gives confidence is seeing how quickly the platform improves and how closely the team listens to users.

**What problems is Leo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Leo AI solves the challenge of engineering knowledge being scattered across too many places and too much valuable time being spent on manual research, repeated checks, and work that has already been done before. In many engineering environments, answers are buried in past designs, internal documents, standards, and team knowledge, which slows everything down.

For us, the benefit is that engineers can get to the right information much faster and spend more of their time actually designing and solving problems. It helps improve efficiency, reduces unnecessary repetition, and makes it easier to build on existing knowledge instead of starting from scratch each time. I've been using Leo AI for about six months now and it's cut down my part search time dramatically. Before, I'd spend half a day hunting through supplier catalogs and our PLM system trying to find an existing component that met specs. Now I just describe what I need and Leo pulls relevant parts from its catalog in minutes. The geometric search is particularly useful when I have a CAD model and need to find something similar we've already qualified.

its quite expensive for a private guy like me

so the part search capabilities are really in a league of their own - text to text, text to cad and cad to cad, its really something you have to try for yourself to see. 
they have really good chat with high accuracy that always gives me the context for the answer and sources, better than perplexity in my opinion and connected to my data.
overall a very powerfull tool that saves a lot of time and really cuts down on effort and frustration from these types of common tasks.

Previous Response: The concept development and design side of Leo is not fully developed yet. It still has room to grow when it comes to supporting more creative, early-stage design work. But it’s clearly moving in the right direction, and I can already see the potential.

My background is clinical. I understand mechanical design well enough to contribute, but I am not a senior mechanical engineer and I know it. When I joined the device development team at Clalit, one of my biggest frustrations was how much institutional knowledge was effectively invisible. Documents from previous product lines existed somewhere, but finding the right one for the decision in front of you was a project in itself. Leo changed that completely. I describe what I need, and it surfaces the relevant internal material, previous design decisions, past calculations, and backs everything with a cited source I can actually click on and verify. For someone at my level of mechanical experience, having that kind of depth available instantly is the difference between a confident decision and a guess

**What do you dislike about Leo?**

Getting the integration set up with our internal document repositories took a bit of coordination with IT. It was handled smoothly by the Leo team, but worth knowing it requires that initial step.

**What problems is Leo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

a large healthcare organization like Clalit, the engineering knowledge from previous medical device programs is enormous but scattered. The people who built earlier products carry a lot of that in their heads, and there is no efficient way for someone newer to access it. Leo indexes all of it and makes it searchable in plain language. Beyond that, for regulatory documentation, Leo was able to help us produce FDA and ISO 13485-aligned drafts significantly faster than doing it manually, and every claim in those documents was traceable to a verified source. For a medical device context where traceability is not optional, that matters enormously.

The parts search across our PDM system has been a game changer — engineers find components much faster instead of pinging each other constantly. It integrates seamlessly with our existing PLM setup, so it's not another orphaned tool. The technical Q&A feature pulls from real engineering standards with source citations, giving engineers confidence they're getting accurate, relevant answers. It has noticeably cut weekly meeting load and reduced the number of "can you find X spec" emails significantly. The ROI is clear when you consider how much time senior engineers were spending on retrieval tasks.

Nothing major to report so far. The initial setup and integration required some coordination, but once it was connected to our PLM system it has been smooth. Would love to see even broader coverage of engineering standards over time.

It is especially useful because of the parts search and the fact that answers are backed by trusted sources instead of unverified web content. The result was less search time, better reuse, and faster decisions. That is what made it stick. I would recommend Leo AI to teams that are tired of wasting time looking for answers they already have.

Some integrations are still not available for certain systems. Mobile web version still has limited functions, but I assume it will improve overtime.

It cut down the dependency on waiting for the right person to be free before moving forward. Leo AI feels like real parts search, not a generic tool pretending to understand engineering. The fact that it can be integrated directly into CAD editors or work independently in the web it's also a plus in flexibility. It's also useful that it gave us visible calculation logic with Python code instead of a black box number that came who knows from where and without any backed sources.

I really appreciate Leo's ease of use; it makes me feel like I'm using a product from the future. It's pretty cool to see something that's on the cutting edge for mechanical engineers. I find it incredibly useful as it's a classic chatbot that condenses information well. Instead of looking things up on Google, it's much easier to find what I'm looking for, like parts or fasteners, or a good solution for my specific problem. Also, the initial setup was very easy.

I think there's a little bit of issues with stability still to pretty new product, so I think, that they're still working on it. But the team there is, really responsive, so it doesn't make it too bad.

I use Leo to find parts for assemblies and for CAD generation, saving me time and reducing costs by using pre-existing parts. It's easy to use, like using the future for mechanical engineering, and it's much easier than searching on Google.

As someone working in R&D, I was really impressed by Leo. It's amazing how the part search, or retrieval as they call it, finds parts that I wouldn't have caught otherwise. When we were redesigning a mounting bracket with specific load specs, Leo pulled up three viable options from suppliers I hadn't considered, one of which fit our envelope constraints perfectly. The geometry search has also been invaluable, helping me find standard parts instead of designing new ones, saving a huge amount of time and effort. The search system is smart and CAD-aware, which is a big time saver. I love that it was made by people who truly understand the struggles of mechanical engineers. The connection to our PDM and using that as a data source is legit the best thing ever, and it’s easy to set up with a simple installation process. I also tried the assembly inspection feature, and it looks promising. Overall, this tool has been incredibly useful and is the best thing to have for mechanical engineering tasks.

I guess speed could be improved.

What I liked the best about LEO and the most helpful thing about LEO AI is its ability to give you a place to start in design. Instead of worrying about where to start or what to do, LEO AI will give you something to work off of and the information needed to do it.

**What do you dislike about Leo?**

The main thing I disliked about LEO was what I would call its "stubbornness." Occasionally, the software did not quite listen to what I was saying. It would sometimes design something outside of my prompt or not quite listen to material specifications. This issue mainly occurred when the software was asked to make a 3-D model, but did not occur when asking for specific information about the design in my experience.

**What problems is Leo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LEO AI is great for giving you a place to start in terms of design. The design the software comes up with will not always be the final product, but it does give a great place to start from and build off from. The software is also great at answering engineering questions throughout the designing process and generally gives you what information you would want for a project. Something that helped me as a student using LEO was its ability to somewhat teach certain engineering concepts and breaking down larger concepts in a digestible way.

The search in Teamcenter has always been a weak point for us. If you don't know the exact part number or file name, you're basically not finding it. Leo changed that. I can describe a part geometrically or by function and it finds relevant parts from our own history, not just from an external catalog. For a team our size with years of legacy NX data, that's a significant time saver. We've started reusing parts we didn't even know we had, and that has real downstream impact on procurement and BOM costs.

**What do you dislike about Leo?**

Getting Teamcenter fully connected took a bit of coordination with our IT team, but the Leo support team walked us through it and it went smoothly.

**What problems is Leo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In a company our size, with years of NX assemblies and program documentation in Teamcenter, the knowledge is there but it's not accessible. Engineers spend a lot of time trying to understand design intent on systems they didn't originally build, especially when the people who built them are no longer around. Leo helps with that directly. It can surface previous design decisions, pull up the right calculation or standard, and help a newer engineer get context fast without having to track down a senior who may or may not have time to explain. On the IP and security side, that was a concern when we first evaluated it. Leo is SOC 2 certified and nothing leaves our secured environment, which cleared the procurement review without issues.

In our group, we’re building heat transfer systems for GPUs using principles that are so new, there’s barely any precedent in the industry. That used to mean hours digging through journals, standards, and textbooks- often paying for articles and experts/consultants just to get the data we needed to test a single idea or to make a single decision (material properties, relevant standard, etc).

With Leo, that’s changed completely. When I explore a new cooling geometry or evaluate unconventional material properties, I can ask questions and get answers backed by handbooks, standards, and recent studies. What I like most about Leo is its ability to review assemblies and provide intelligent part recommendations. It can search within our own library, helping engineers reuse existing components, reduce design time, and improve consistency across projects.

What I dislike is that Leo does not yet fully analyze complete assemblies. I would like it to automatically detect interferences, design flaws, and potential failures, and then provide clear, actionable recommendations on how to resolve each issue efficiently safely.

Every mechanical engineer I know hates wasting days modeling parts that already exist in the company library. Leo fixes that problem completely. By combining enterprise-grade AI with organizational CAD and text data, it allows engineers to find and reuse the right part or standard instantly. One director told me their new hires used to take months before they could work independently. With Leo acting as an AI copilot, those same engineers are productive in weeks. Add SOC 2 security and local support in the US and EU (Germany, Switzerland, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Poland, UK, etc) that provide technical support both in person or virtually in various native languages , and it’s clear this is the enterprise tool mechanical engineering organizations have been waiting for.

It makes ideation much faster, and the ability to bring tonnes of engineering handbook data at the fingertips is of great help.

Nothing I dislike about Leo. Like other AI tools some times it hallucinates but we can easily correct it with appropriate prompts

**What problems is Leo solving and how is that benefiting you?**

LeoAI is the AI tool mechanical engineers have been waiting for is my first impression after seeing the demo. I tried my hands on it with certain use cases and the way it brought out the best data points, made me convinced and hooked. I have shared it all around. 

As of today, LeoAI is the only trusted AI tool available for mechanical engineers. While other tools give some information, the confidence with which you can use the results is very small compared to LeoAI.

The best part is it connects to the customers design data, PLM system, understands CAD and has inherent ability of having put the best practices in place. Like, if I need a part, say ball bearing, Leo pulls the relevant formulas and guidelines from my organisation's data, trusted engineering handbooks, showing exactly where the formula came from. This increases the trust on the results. Then it runs the calculations with Python code and gives the results. And it finds the right one from standard part catalogues as well.

Leo enables the engineers to focus on progress, and it takes care of the mundane and tedious tasks behind daily decisions to be made.

It saved me a lot of time anytime I have technical questions associated with mechanical engineering and product design, enhances my creative process, and prevents potential errors before they occur.


For example, Leo was very accurate about the surface roughness of both answers while referring to our specific use cases - something that Google cannot do. Leo was accurate and quantitative about the thickness and homogeneity of both coatings (thickness in each of them in microns). He also provided supporting sources that allowed me to be confident with my decision and explain it to my peers. That was great.

Nothing, I have no complaints and no dislikes.

With LEO, I’m able to retrieve data very quickly, sometimes even information that I would otherwise need to search for in catalogs.
When it comes to calculations, once a request is made, LEO clearly shows the process — including parameters and the resulting output.
For consultation or in cases of uncertainty, LEO provides an answer along with references that can be verified.

I like how Leo is convenient, quick, and accurate. It really boosts my productivity. For example, when I had to build a machine for my company, it helped me do it 10 times faster. The initial setup was also really easy, taking one day at most.

The UI sometimes isn’t that intuitive.

Leo copilot is easy to use. I used the Web app.
Leo copilot is giving mostly very relevant answers to matter asked with additional engineering sources.
It gives the engineer the exact relevant pages from ISO, Mil or Handbook, according to solutions. That way of showing the results, makes it easier to rely on the answer or ask further questions to complete the research about given topic. Vendor search to specific components, as described in search line, was also pretty useful and intuitive.
CAD search feature works fine.
The source database seems to be fine according to the given source links in the chat. It helps to have confident in the data, that the information is given from reliable source.
About Leo Ideation, again it is easy to use. I gave the tool to the system engineers to search and use.
It does make a brainstorm for new ideas more visual and can rely on company's database for more focus results.

PLM and SolidWorks integration make this a must-have tool. MEs don't go back to working without Leo after getting into the habit of using it daily. This is the AI co-pilot we've been dreaming of.

Would like it to work with Autodesk too.

I use Leo for my own personal projects, and it is geared to save engineers time. I know I am not maximizing my ability with Leo.
