Top Rated Legal Files Alternatives
Legal Files effectively maintains all client information and once you've gotten the hang of it, is relatively easy to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Getting the hang of it can take a while. Legal files is frustratingly non-user friendly and can take a lot of time to figure out. Simply adding a note to a client's file requires you to open five separate windows. Also, the search feature only works for last names, not for any other criteria. The ease of organizing documents, phone calls, and notes in Legal Files makes this an excellent case management program. It's also highly customizable so you can add different document types and case statuses unique to your organization. Being able to drag and drop documents into using a convenient desktop app is also nice. As a supervisor, it's easy to keep tabs on what the attorneys and advocates I supervise are doing by going into their files to see their most recent case updates through the chronologically organized "communications and activities" function. It's not Mac compatible so I have to drag my work laptop home when it would be nice to connect to the remote server and use my home computer for quick projects. If you've got voluminous discovery in a case, it's not the best to use for discovery management-- for complex cases, we actually use a different program so that we can search/sort voluminous discovery easier. The Microsoft integration is a key feature that I like best about Legal Files. It has a simple interface in Word that allows seamless integration. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is nothing yet that I personally dislike about Legal Files from my experience thus far, however they could benefit from consolidating some of their products into one so it is a more all-in-one experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's a simple interface, so it's easy that way. Straightforward program. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It seemed very limited in what you were able to do. Couldn't attach files to the entries made. Reports that could be run were confusing to me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Almost too many different ways to store information - and if there is a focus on data tracking can be very time consuming. Billing can be unreliable - for instance ,if you are simultaneously using the billing from LF and our separate billing software, the softwares will update at different times and can cause issues.
