We encountered sending issues that weren't rectified by support, meaning we we sending to fewer customers than planned and needed to do hot fixes for each campaign

It's a good CRM platform that sits above entry level systems for email & push

**What do you like best about Leanplum?**

The main page displays all past and upcoming campaigns making it easy to find any information.

**What do you dislike about Leanplum?**

The only (very minor) downside is that sometimes campaigns will not fire on their own when scheduled to do so and often require manual fixes. Very difficult to set up review prompts especially via Android.

**What problems is Leanplum solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Leanplum allows us to save time and effort by keeping all of our campaigns together and easy to set up and edit.

**What do you like best about Leanplum?**

The tool is excellent for the company's basic needs - send visually appealing emails, analyze the basic metrics, and work with filters to get the audiences you wish.

**What do you dislike about Leanplum?**

First of all, I feel that Sales reps tricked us into buying the tool while promising aspects that do not exist and cannot be developed. After confronting this situation with proof - LeanPlum representatives were just sad but even did not say sorry. 
The support is really terrible - no attention to your problem; you always will get a bunch of links to read, which even do not solve the issue. Asking to jump on a call or show around the solution is not helping. They avoid and usually ignore this request. 
The tool is missing a folding system for the campaigns and audiences, it can get very messy, you need to think about taxonomy. 
Also, simple campaigns are not possible to do, as they have minimum triggers developed, and if you want something at least a bit smarter - you need get your developers. 
In general, if you do not have a dev team eager to help you - do not buy this tool.

Only basic needs of email sending, just to get the newsletters out.

**What do you like best about Leanplum?**

Leanplum gives power to the product team to manipulate the game as they wish. You can communicate and change your player experience at the drop of a hat in an easy-to-use customer experience.

**What do you dislike about Leanplum?**

Leanplum right now needs to work on its response time. Segmentation can take an additional launch of the game to become active, which presents a problem when trying for something that must be instant. The UI/UX for the campaigns must also be improved.

**What problems is Leanplum solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm solving the problem of requiring a build to update my game. I push out content and limited time events via a series of adjustable variables from the server, on top of AB testing to find the best scenarios and messaging to inform my players of changes.

its data accuracy as well as varity of specification to check locations, sending instant pushup notification to people in bulk.

it won't be able to capture duplicate data, and shows error, while searching for particular device locations.

**What do you like best about Leanplum?**

The ability to create custom messages with incredible flexibility and target them to customer behavior. Our business partners are lining up to have campaigns for their products within the app since we have rolled it out. We have run a number of awareness campaigns to help with Voice of the Customer concerns for mobile deposit as well as targeted messages informing customers who use specific products about how to avoid problems with their accounts.

**What do you dislike about Leanplum?**

It is a little awkward to figure out how to target a test device. Setting up rules takes a bit of work to know that you are targeting the correct group. It is a little difficult to work with nested campaigns.

**What problems is Leanplum solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are trying to increase customer engagement with our features and preemptively inform customers of issues within our platform to reduce call volume and make it easier for them to self service issues.

**What do you like best about Leanplum?**

We use Leanplum to address our customers on all channels: In-App Messages, Web Pop-Ups, Push and E-Mail. The tool is potent with many great functionalities that help you orchestrate your marketing activities from one platform. It is pretty easy to set up multi-channel campaigns and edit e-mail templates. 
Moreover, the analytics section, in this case, is excellent and very useful for deep dive into data. Email functionalities are good, especially the content management for templating is straightforward and flexible. I love it!
The support service is outstanding! You will always have very well-trained customer support on our site that answers very specifically to your questions. There is nothing such as pre-written general answers to your concern. It always feels like you are working in a team on a specific issue.

**What do you dislike about Leanplum?**

If you are very focused on e-mail marketing, Leanplum has some debts that they need to work on, such as state of the art "subject-line testing" or "deliverability reports on one-click", "or some centralized content editing." 
The reporting section in certain aspects is not helpful for our specific reporting aspects. I guess for the "general" customers with everyday needs it works well.

**What problems is Leanplum solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are communicating very specifically over all channels with our customers. Thanks to the real-time data processes, we can address our customers with messages in particular situations on our website or in our apps which helps to make our content more relevant to our customers. Moreover, we have drawn a lot of benefits from our data-driven life-cycle campaigns.

Email builder is pretty similar to other similar tools and email builders I've used in the past. Pretty easy to send emails and push notifications out. Their customer support is easy to reach, quick to respond, and very helpful.

**What do you dislike about Leanplum?**

It lacks some functionality like static audience lists, clear email performance reports (for example, no unsubscribe rate data), and most importantly, conversion attribution.

We're able to send emails, push notifications, and in-app messages to our app users. Our marketing team is able to drive engagement to our app using these features.

**What do you like best about Leanplum?**

This software is adept at handling consumer data and personalization. The event setup method in Leanplum is efficient and straightforward. Leanplum provides a range of measures to assess how incidents impact consumer cooperation with the product. If you fully integrate with SDK submit point-by-point affiliation and product buy instances, Leanplum will give you remarkable client and financial data. Leanplum's crusade preparation practice is both normal and creative.

**What do you dislike about Leanplum?**

The cloud-based version is difficult to use, the interface functionality is limited. It is helpful but not much user-friendly. Before using the app, Leanplum must be learned and understood. When one lies of code is incorrect, the program constantly crashes.

Leanplum is excellent at handling customer details and integration. You may portion on a variety of platform and custom areas. The domain style and section nearby administrator support are genuinely best in class, allowing you to split the summaries or details is whatever manner you need.

**What do you like best about Leanplum?**

With Leanplum we are managing our entire user lifecycle — from onboarding and activation to re-engagement of dormant users. We use a full breath of channels like push notifications, email, in-app messaging, and app inbox, which allows us to coordinate and orchestrate our communication without spamming our users with the same message across different channels. When launching new features, we also tend to set up feature flags in Leanplum and do coordinated rollouts with messaging. Leanplum truly is an all-in-one engagement platform.

**What do you dislike about Leanplum?**

Judging from the latest updates, Leanplum is definitely doubling down on the mobile channels. However, I was pleasantly surprised to see that their Web SDK now supports Google Tag Manager. Leanplum can do a lot more there — automatic event tracking, more web templates, etc.

**What problems is Leanplum solving and how is that benefiting you?**

What benefits have you realized? We’ve experimented with our boarding experience and seen an increase in D1 retention. We’ve also set up a multi-channel re-engagement drip campaign with 50+ actions, which is one of our most successful campaigns to date.

**What do you like best about Leanplum?**

The platform offers powerful AB testing capabilities along with marketing messaging campaigns. It is simple to use yet very comprehensive, proving helpful even for the not very tech-savvy marketers as well as for your developers. Customer service is prompt, very professional and helpful. They never disappoint. The product evolves constantly.

Product changes sometimes seem to be slow, not affecting the use of the service, but for the keen technical user, it is apparent.

We are AB testing all features we introduce in our mobile apps. Every hypothesis is put to the test. We also leverage the powerful, zero development effort, in-app messages and Push notifications to keep users aware of news and changes.

**What do you like best about Leanplum?**

We’ve been using Leanplum since 2013, and we’ve been really happy with it. We’ve seen their platform grow from just an A/B testing solution to a full-blown player management solution. The one-stop-shop approach with CRM, LiveOps, and Remote Configuration is pretty unique. It allows companies to run A/B tests across both messaging and the game UX — for example you can run a personalized sale in the store and match it with a behavior-triggered in-app message to promote it, all in the same variant. Their A/B testing is top notch with some pretty powerful reporting capabilities like significant changes and the ability to analyze across KPIs retroactively. All in all, a great platform!

**What do you dislike about Leanplum?**

While we’ve been using the platform for 8 years, we do have new team members that occasionally need to get onboarded. They can benefit from better use case tutorials and self-onboarding tools.

**What problems is Leanplum solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In terms of lifecycle marketing, we’ve used in-app messages to run contests and encourage players to participate in order to build up our community. When running LiveOps events in our city builder games, we saw a significant lift in participation when announcing those events using personalized push notifications & in-app messages. In Snoopy’s Town Tale, we used segmentation to identify players that regularly participate in our monthly events but never purchase. We used special discount offers and enhanced game packs to encourage those players to make their first purchase.

**What do you like best about Leanplum?**

We've tried many marketing platforms dedicated to mobile apps, and Leanplum by far is the best we've had - it's straightforward and easy-to-use for marketers. Once the development phase is complete, the marketer has unlimited marketing oppurtunties - from single messaging campaigns to more complex chain/flow types of campaigns, including email, push, in-app messaging, and more.

On top of that, because Lenaplum started as a product optimization platform, they have unique features that enable you to run product A/B testing with ease - from replacing UI elements on the go or testing various pricing models.

**What do you dislike about Leanplum?**

There isn't a perfect product, but Leanplaum is great for mobile app developers who run marketing websites. Leanplum team could improve features related to in-app messaging and brand assets hosting / email templates (shares assets), but these aren't anything that impact the experience in everyday use.

**What problems is Leanplum solving and how is that benefiting you?**

User outreach is critical for mobile apps, as the first interaction can be short and end there, so email marketing and push notification, along with in-app marketing experience, can help a lot with user acquisition, onboarding, and retention.

Leanplum helps us a lot with exactly that - allowing you to freely create various campaigns around these fields (acquisition, onboarding, and retention), along with easy-to-use and straightforward analytics tools that add another layer to your marketing efforts.

**What do you like best about Leanplum?**

Leanplum has a great framework out of the box to support Live Ops for games. They have been rock solid on executing their live campaigns around live ops including push notification, in app messaging, and remove configuration pieces. 

For A/B it's one of the best out there where it's super easy to test different configurations quickly.

**What do you dislike about Leanplum?**

Analytics is not their strongest trait, it's limited and can be slow. We supplement this with being able to export our data (which they make easy) into our our datawarehouse and visualization tools.

**Recommendations to others considering Leanplum:**

Leanplum is a great out of the box solution for those looking for an A/B solutions, player lifecycle management, and running in game live events.

**What problems is Leanplum solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our primary use case for Leanplum has been using it for Live Ops management around the areas of push notification, remote configuration, and in-app messages. With these we're able to run robust live events inside the campaign as well as pretty sophisticated A/B.

**What do you like best about Leanplum?**

Leanplum is our de-facto CRM for communicating with our users. We use it across a variety of channels and types of campaigns, both calendar-based and automated. However, Leanplum is not just a messaging platform — with the variables we can A/B test UI components and gradually roll out new features. This would typically require a separate tool, but Leanplum is pretty unique in the market to offer both messaging and product A/B testing under the same umbrella. Comes in handy to have things fully integrated when you have a small growth team looking to iterate quickly.

**What do you dislike about Leanplum?**

I’d like to see more out-of-the-box analytics.

**What problems is Leanplum solving and how is that benefiting you?**

All our new features are gated with Leanplum variables. We have dozens of active automations for onboarding, activation, and reactivation. We’ve measured a double-digit lift in engagement using Leanplum’s global holdback capabilities.

We've been using Leanplum since 2017, and by far is the best CRM tools. It's easy-to-use for marketers also for the beginners. Besides, they do feature updates frequently, so it helps us to run the campaign with fresh ideas.

Especially the Recency & Frequency feature that is useful for targeting to spesific use cases.

On top of that, Leanplum analytics were a very useful! Very recommended!

Leanplum is great but sometimes we're facing the analytics issue. However, when we're facing those issue, we can easily contact their team and always get a prompt response.

Our primary use case for Leanplum has been using it for Marketing promotion around the areas of push notification, inbox notification and in-app messages. With these channel we're able to run the marketing campaign really well.

We've been using Leanplum for over 3 years, something that we like outside of their advanced A/B Testing and Experimenting capability is their Customer Support & Success Team that has always been ready 24/7 to handle our inquiries, and their steady platform with super minimal downtime. Their strong suit is their user-friendly interface design combined with always developing new features that help us to increase our ROI

We'd like to have an automated segmentation & RFM analysis, instead of doing it manually, and we would also like to have actionable Funnel to Funnel analysis with churn propensity scoring

**What do you like best about Leanplum?**

Leanplum is great for mobile app engagement. Unlike other tools that are more Email- or Web-centric, Leanplum is just built for mobile. While they do have a solid email offering, it's meant to be a complementary channel in a mobile-first multi-channel portfolio with push, in-app messaging, app inbox, and the ability to manipulate the product experience. That last part comes in handy, especially when working on optimizing the onboarding experience or rolling out new features that require communication. Their analytics were a very pleasant surprise, especially around A/B test reporting -- statistical confidence, ability to analyze across all KPIs retroactively. Overall, A+ product built for growth teams that specialize in mobile.

**What do you dislike about Leanplum?**

It appears that Leanplum has recently specialized in mobile gaming, subscription apps, and on-demand apps. We are neither of those, but we still find the product to be excellent. However, I'd imagine we are missing out on having valuable facetime with their product team around those key areas of focus.

**What problems is Leanplum solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our biggest challenge is around operational excellence. In the past, we needed a lot of help from the engineers, which was hampering our experimentation velocity. With Leanplum we're able to run faster and be more self-sufficient. In terms of metrics, optimizing retention is #1. We've seen a double-digit lift through a series of experiments that we're measuring using a global holdback.

**What do you like best about Leanplum?**

Agile team, they really take customer feedback to heart. For example, they were super quick to add an SDK kit for Apple’s ATT. Their technical support is also top-notch — super responsive and helpful. The product has evolved over the years into a multi-channel engagement platform, but I really like the fact that they started as an A/B testing solution. You can really tell that testing & analytics are core to their DNA.

**What do you dislike about Leanplum?**

Our top channels are push notifications and in-app messages, which work great. We haven’t done much with App Inbox, so I’m not sure if that maybe could use some help.

**What problems is Leanplum solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We’ve almost doubled our push notification opt-in rate by testing different contextual triggers for the ask. This means that all our messaging campaigns have better reach and higher impact. We’ve increased our app ratings from the upper 3s to the mid-4s by asking our loyal users to rate us. We were able to determine our ATT opt-in rate using custom in-app messages before the actual release of iOS 14.5.

**What do you like best about Leanplum?**

Used Leanplum at my previous job, and I loved it. Leanplum truly is a one-stop-shop for mobile engagement. They have top-notch CRM capabilities with the ability to build journeys across all mobile channels, including push, email, in-app messaging, app inbox. Our product team also did feature rollouts using Leanplum’s variables. All functionality works off of a unified user profile, which is a dream come true for any CRM marketer.

**What do you dislike about Leanplum?**

Nothing big stands that I can recall at this time.

**What problems is Leanplum solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Built a portfolio of campaigns to cover all stages of the customer lifecycle. Lots of automated campaigns for cross-sells, upsells, etc. 
First, we focused on onboarding and were able to increase D1 retention and push opt-in by double digit percent. 
Next, we focused on ways to activate customer behavior across our different set of products. Did lots of coupon drops as well with significant uplift in revenue measured via holdouts.

Managing variables and a/b tests are excellent and trustworthy.

**What do you dislike about Leanplum?**

The a/b test analytics are perfectly adequate, but you cannot dig deep if you want to. You have to use another analytics tool to make more comprehensive decisions. It is sufficient for making comments on the overall situation, though.

We are using a/b tests and variables for setting remote configurations and doing experiments. We also use it for customer engagement, and it has been quite adequate so far.

**What do you like best about Leanplum?**

Leanplum helped us (a gaming studio running a live game) achieve our goal in highlighting in-game offers to data-defined player segments. Without Leanplum, we would not be able to highlight key offers that exist in our store, automate in-game messages, and segment our user base to strategic audiences. Their tech support and customer success response time are world-class and their product team truly takes our priorities into consideration when creating their product roadmap.

**What do you dislike about Leanplum?**

Not a dislike per se, but there are still a few work-in-progress features that have not been released such as "multiple-parameter targeting" on events that would truly scale our lifecycle operations to another level of complexity. I am excited to get my hands on those features once they release.

**What problems is Leanplum solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Leanplum has helped our team automate our in-game lifecycle operations through the automated triggering of messages. Furthermore, Leanplum has allowed our team to segment our users for targeted messages - a capability we did not have prior. Lastly, Leanplum has enabled our team to show interstitial messages that can call out key offers in our in-game store through interstitial messaging. **What do you like best about Leanplum?**

We replaced our ESP with Leanplum as our business had shifted more and more to mobile. In addition to sending email, Leanplum powers our push notifications and in-app messages. With our ESP we couldn’t merge user profiles across mobile and web, and with Leanplum this comes out of the box. We also had issues with customer service - getting anything fixed with our old ESP required service upsells with professional services. Leanplum’s support, on the other hand, is top-notch. It’s a modern tool with self-service documentation and made easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Leanplum?**

Uploading a product catalog requires working with support. More self-service tools would be great.

The clean and straightforward interfaces have helped users with campaign setting-up. Yes, it is a trivial matter but I do appreciate the overall ease of use especially when one has multiple launches at a time.

Leanplum is a great service to manage just about everything in the game, without requiring the development of a backend for the game. It can enable almost everyone in a game studio to engage with the game to make it better. From marketing to game designers, to developers/QA. Very good documentation and UI. One sneaky feature is that it also has analytics - tied to all other features of Leanplum. A super-powerful feature.

Leanplum is only as good as the team and the integration. To manage campaigns and game balancing does require a solid integration with the game and a team focused on using Leanplum. A basic integration of Leanplum will not even scratch the surface of the power the tool offers. That said, integration is as easy as it could be.

Managing games remotely without needing to redeploy. The variables Leanplum offers allow just about any game feature to be tweaked. The variables can also be targeted to certain users which is cool for A/B tests and for cutting off bugs in the game from users.

The integration into your systems (app) is really easy. The tool can connect with a  lot of other tools like Segment, Amplitude, etc.. Super essential for your growth strategy. The drag&drop editor for e-mail allows non-tech people to build e-mails and customize them in an easy way. I would definitely recommend the tool if your business is centralized around an app.

The analytics tab can be improved. Currently it is not really intuitive to use and it is hard to find the  answers you want to find as a marketeer.

Leanplum is more than just a messaging platform. It's full player management that also enables best-in-class LiveOps and remote configuration. The biggest issue with platforms like these is the integration cost, and Leanplum has done a tremendous job here to seamlessly plug into our existing backend and data pipelines. On the client side, they have full Unity Native support, not just a wrapper SDK. All of this enables us to unleash the full potential of our data for behavioral segmentation & triggering without additional coding.

**What do you dislike about Leanplum?**

Composition experience can be improved - we’ve seen their new drag & drop editor for in-game popups and can't wait to get our hands on it.

We chose it over our existing push-only provider and ESP because we couldn’t orchestrate messages across different channels. We have a native mobile app as well as as Web app, so it was also important for us to have support for multiple platforms in a unified user profile.

We’re waiting on the drag & drop editor for in-app messages. This will be a game-changer for us because it will eliminate the need for engineering involvement.

Leanplum is our de-facto CRM for everything email, push, and in-app popups. Our PMs are also using variables for product A/B testing to roll out new features, etc. It’s a great cross-team collaboration tool that’s designed to help streamline growth. My favorite part about Leanplum is that it was started as an experimentation platform, so A/B testing is the core unit of work in the platform. It’s a must-have for any serious growth team.

They could do a better job with Web personalization. While they do have a Web SDK, I’d love to see more out-of-the-box templates.

Leanplum is a cross-channel CRM tool for personalized communication. Very flexible segmentation and A/B testing.

My favorite part is the A/B test reporting, where you can apply statistics, slice + dice results, and evaluate across hundreds of metrics retroactively.

Our previous tool had limited reporting, triggering was hard, segmentation required a lot of effort, and there was no email out of the box.

**What do you dislike about Leanplum?**

They're not very good at getting their message out, and the price was a little bit much for us at first, so me and my team wasted a lot of time on other tools.

Leanplum has done a great job lately focusing their efforts around mobile, and subscription in particular. To my knowledge, there isn’t another mobile engagement platform out there that puts a spotlight on subscription apps like they do. While their core strength is on the app engagement channels like push and in-app popups, we’re also pretty happy with their email offering — it’s the orchestration with all the other channels that makes the difference.

**What do you dislike about Leanplum?**

Not much. Pretty happy with the solution so far. Maybe more self-help materials online, although their technical support line has been very responsive.

We’d like to see a calendar view of our LiveOps activity across both config changes and messaging, but I know they are already working on it.

This platform synchronization API is not powerful enough. More, there is very little developer documentation at the time of installation. Sometimes its user interface may take a while to load after logging in. Also, the search area of the "Users" screen may be a bit confusing. The web-based dashboard of this program is difficult to use.
